Motor Profiler with STEVAL-IPM30B power board

Hello,

I wanted to make auto-tune for my engine but there is no STEVAL-IPM30B power board in Motor Profiler tool. Only IPM-05, 10, and 15 are supported. Can I select IPM-15B board and run Motor Profiler with a physically connected IPM-30B?

Dear DJusz.1,

Firstly, we would like to sincerely apologize for the delay in replying to your post.
If your point is still pertinent, the motor profiling result with a different power board could not be accurate as Rshunt values are different between IPM-15B and IPM-30B power boards.

Hello @GMA ,

2 years later and I've now faced the same issue. I want to profile my motor that runs on 14A nominal current and 150V. The only available board is the IPM30B and the next closest available board on the motor profiler application is the IPM15B with a rated current of 9A. Is it not possible to just set the Rshunt value in MCSDK to 0.02 instead of 0.04 and make the firmware think it's reading 9A when there's actually 18A going through the shunts? Or if it's possible, change the maximum allowed current to 18A from 9A?

Br,

Lukas

Hello @Lukas47,

You can profile a motor with a STEVAL-IPM30B power board using the latest Motor Control Software Development Kit (MCSDK) available here.
As mentioned in the MCSDK release note, the Motor Profiler tool requires a microcontroller (MCU) equipped with a floating-point unit (FPU). Therefore, Motor Profiler firmware generation is not supported for the STM32F0xxSTM32G0xx, and STM32C0xx families.
