STM32F072RB ADC DMA 8 Channels

Melxo
Associate II

Hi, I need to read 8 channels through the ADC in DMA circular mode, to check the channel status readd I put all channel to GND from nucleo board and two channels (ADC_IN2 on PA2 pin and ADC_IN3 on PA3 pin ) doesn't give me the correct data, you can see in the image all channels to 0 except this two.

I try change the wires but isn't the problem.

All code is generated from MX tool.

Screenshot 2025-04-23 150941.pngshared image.jpg

Can anyone tell me why these two channels are not working?

Attached is the entire project.

I'm  thinking that @MasterT argument is right.

I assume that by default in this board the USART2 is enabled through the bridges and maybe I need change it to the channels in this pins works fine.

This time I am not going to check it and I abandon this idea to use other methods to achieve my goal.

Hello,

it seems to me that ADC doesn´t work right. Try to set these parameters in CubeMX or directly in CubeIDE :

hadc.Init.ContinuousConvMode = DISABLE;

hadc.Init.ExternalTrigConv = ADC1_2_EXTERNALTRIG_T3_TRGO;

sMasterConfig.MasterOutputTrigger = TIM_TRGO_UPDATE;

Hi, I have tried one by one these three changes and all three at the same time and it still doesn't work.

I also need the reading to be continuous.

Thanks anyway.

This is nucleo board, likely PA2 & PA3 assign to serial port. Locate product description page on ST.com, navigate to CAD docs - get schematic. Also download and study nucleo board manual.

Hi @MasterT , before to start this project I reset all pins, and use this layout from the file attached.

Screenshot 2025-04-24 103434.pngScreenshot 2025-04-24 103628.png

"Reset" doesn't help here, since hardware is overrule any software nuisance.  Pins likely attached to arduino D0 & D1 header, so there bias voltage is always there. General rules are: not every pin is available for user, study docs before do "reset"

Here is a simple example for STM32C0, but you can use the same principle for your MCU. Example reads every 1ms 5channels and save data through DMA to array. For ADC is enabled DMA Continuous Request and External Trigger Conversion set to: TIM3 Trigger Out event (other settings as default). DMA set to Circular Mode. TIM3 Counter period set to 9599 ( division 48 MHz by 9600 -> 5 kHz -> sampling rate 1 kHz for 5 channels) and Trigger Event Selection TRGO set to Update Event.
