Ethernet Connectivity Issue

I would like to highlight a compatibility issue we have encountered. The TL-SG116E is a smart managed switch, whereas our machine, which uses an STM32 F7 Nucleo board, is designed to operate with an unmanaged switch. As a result, we are experiencing communication errors when connecting through the TL-SG116E.
The board is getting connected or in communication when we give it a hard reset ,while the reset button is pressed.

Ethernet issues can occur even with plain unmanaged switches, so not surprising.

Does this problem occur with the Nucleo board, or you have a custom board?  Please try to describe "communication errors" in more details.

Hello,

Some more things further to the above that would be useful to know regarding your setup:

  • What Phy IC are you using?
  • What are the port negotiation settings on your switch?
  • Does your managed switch have any port lockdown settings on for example, disabling when disconnected etc.
  • When you specifically say it is designed to operate with an unmanaged switch, what features exactly are you describing?

Thanks.

  • What Phy IC are you using?

           LAN8742A

  • What are the port negotiation settings on your switch?

10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, 1000 Mbps  and duplex mode

  • Does your managed switch have any port lockdown settings on for example, disabling when disconnected etc.

     Not sure (Switch name-TL-SG116E)

  • When you specifically say it is designed to operate with an unmanaged switch, what features exactly are you describing?

we are using the nucleo board for ccd camera data readout and processing .
