How to identify the STM32 F4 DISC1 board is original product or not?

haribalakumarp

Recently, I purchased an STM32F407G-DISC1 board. On the top left corner of the board, I noticed the label STM32F407G-DISC1, and at the same time, I observed MB997E printed on it. This raised a doubt because many boards are labeled as MB997D, while some are labeled as MB997E. This variation has left me confused. I referred to the STM32 F4xxx documentation for clarification, but since it was last updated in 2020, I could not find any definitive information to verify whether the board is original. I kindly request the community to help me determine whether this board is authentic and provide any additional insights or resources to verify its originality.

Afaik there are no "fake" STM boards , that look like an original discovery board .

Where you buyed it? Distributors like mouser sell only genuine ones.

The letter on the board label is just the version/revision.

So just try to connect with cube programmer and see, what it's telling...

But just....why you think about that problem, original or fake, at all ?

Find the schematics of the different board revisions at https://www.st.com/en/evaluation-tools/stm32f4discovery.html#cad-resources

Changes probably are minimal.
