Hi
I just received a STLink-V3SET from www.tme.eu.
It does not appear to be a clone in any way.
Upon trying to update it with StLinkUpgade 3.16.8 it shows its ST-Link ID but claims that the current firmware is V0J0S0 and at the bottom it says "Unknown firmware type. Don't know how to upgrade."
Have I received a faulty device?
Best regards
Martin

Hello,
If the problem occurs from out of the box, it would mean that the probe has not been correctly programmed, and I suggest to ask for an exchange. To confirm the state, may you please look from the device manager (if you are on Windows), in "Universal Serial Bus Devices", if you see "STM32 ST-LINK/V3", just after having plugged the ST-LINK/V3SET (and before any action by STLinkUpgrade). If yes, please precise the data on the sticker of the probe (something like LKV3SET$xxx and a serial number with 1 letter and 9 digits). If not, please precise what you see in the device manager.
Do you confirm that you faced the issue on a first STLinkUpgrade attempt, and not after a previously failed upgrade attempt ? Otherwise do you remember the context and/or error message of the first failure ?

Hi S C and thanks for giving this attention.
Yes; The problem occurred out of the box.
The device manager shows "STM32 ST-LINK/V3"
The sticker reads
LKV3SET$RT1
R250804398
Yes, the problem occurred on the first attempt to update using STLinkUpgrade.
Best regards

OK so this confirms that it is an issue during the production of the board. I forwarded to the industrialization team for further investigations. Is it possible for you to ask for an exchange from your seller ?

I will contact the reseller and point them to this thread.
