Using Dynamic tag as a passive tag

MvanG

Dear reader,

I was wondering if it is possible to use the Dynamic NFC tags series as a passive tag. I do not have a supply voltage available, so I was wondering what the effects would be. The I2C and the SRAM would not work. Anything else?

Yes, same thing for M24LR and M24SR (except those don't have the SRAM). On those two dynamic tags, only the I2C interface will not work when used in passive mode.

Best regards.

Hello,

Yes it is possible to use all dynamic NFC tags as passive tags.

If the VCC is not supplied, the I2C interface will not be available and the Fast Transfer Mode (SRAM) will not work (for ST25DV).

All other functions will work as expected for a passive tag.

Best regards.

Is this also the same for the M24SR and M24LR?
