iso14443b emulation (sri4k)

Hi I'm looking for a product able to perform ISO 14443 B emulation and maybe emulate a simple tag like SRI4K, do you have anything like that?

#nfc

Thanks

Hi,

ST21/54 products should be able to do such. With ST25 product this is not directly possible as they are not supporting the card side of framing outside of NFC-A and NFC-F.  Similar has already been discussed in https://community.st.com/t5/st25-nfc-rfid-tags-and-readers/is-there-any-nfc-chip-that-is-capable-of-emulation-nfc-v-tags/m-p/728546.

Hi Ulysses,

Thanks for the quick answer, is ST21NFCB a viable option for NFC-B card emulation? also do you know if there are any samples on how to perform emulation on that chip?

Daniele

Hi Daniele,

ST21 controllers are quite different from ST25. The interface on ST25 is on a low layer. Many details are up to the software running on customer MCU. ST21 on the other hand has a high-level interface (NCI). ST21s are supporting the proper ISO14443-2 B framing but I think only the command set of ISO14443-3. I think emulation of the specific commands of SRI using default ST21 will not be possible. Possibly you could also look into ST31 tag products - likely requiring a custom applet.

Inquiries if such ST21 use case can be fulfilled needs to go through official ST sales channels. Also the supporting material is also just available through this channel.

P.S.:

Possible source of misunderstanding: the NFCB in ST21NFCB does not refer to the supported protocol but to the chip evolution.
