Hi everyone. I'm new to motor control and have some problems with my robot. We are designing a three-wheeled omnidirectional robot which should bare and transport weights about 10 kg. We use Pololu 12V DC motors which has a stall torque of 8.5kg-cm. Also as motor driver we use IHM04A1 nucleo board for prototyping evaluations.
When i connect the motor inputs directly to the 12V DC power supply i see the good performance of the motors which means robot can bear the load we want to transport on it. But when i use IHM04A1 in between power supply and motor and apply 100% PWM robot can not start to bear the load and when i look at the output of the driver(which is motor input voltage) i see 7-8V on oscilloscope.
What is the possible reasons of this problem? Shoul i upgrade the motor or increase the power supply voltage to 15-20V. Or am i doing another wrong implementation?
Thank you for your kind replies.
