STPMIC1 Clock Stretching

Fee
Senior

Hi,

is it possible to use the STPMIC1 on an I2C Bus where another slave does clock stretching? In the datasheet it says that the STPMIC uses the SCL to shift data. For my understanding the clock strechting of the other slave shouldn't bother the STPMIC cause it is not addressed when the clock stretching occurs.

Does anyone has experience with that?

Hi @Lukas Brückner

Not heard about such experience.

Talking about it with @PatrickF , he thought that only concern could be real-time impact for Linux in case a slave stretch SCL for a very long time at the time the PMIC is addressed (i.e. a slave that is woken up by I2C Start could stretch the SCL in order to allow it to receive the address. )

We have trigged some experts ( currently in vacation) to confirm or not this assumption.

Keep you posted.
