Output sink current and source current in Mosfet driver IC is different. Why ?
(Sink current is greater than source current)2015-04-07 06:48 PM
Hi Antony,
The output stage will contain a high side PMOS and a low side NMOS. As we already know that PMOS has higher resistance than NMOS, hence the sinking current will be higher than the sourcing current. This also gives an advantage of preventing from false turn on of MOSFET due to its miller capacitanceThis also reduces the dynamic switching losses when use MOSFETs in Half/Full bridge configurationHope this helps Thanks & RegardsSuresh
