Hi all, We are new here. We are thinking of using ST L6203 motor drivers on our robots and are wondering if it is recommend to control motor speed by PWN on the enable pin or is better to PWN either IN1 or IN2 depending on direction.

We've had quiet a discussion about this and it would be great to know which method is preferred.

Cheers

Usually PWM on the IN signals is preferred because two reasons:

  1. Less power dissipation (recirculating on the embedded diodes dissipates a low of energy)
  2. Lower current ripple
