Choosing a Transil for Triac Over voltage protection.

Hi team,

I'm working on a 3 Phase (400Vrms) Power board control system. Regarding the over-voltage protection of the triac, AN1996 suggests to use Transil across Gate and A2 of the Triac.

1) When Choosing a Transil, the peak voltage of our system is 565V. The maximum Vrm of the Transils available is 376V. Can I use two BZW06-342B in series which has Vrm of 342V each. So 342*2=684V will be the total Vrm. Will this work?

2) We have also planned to use MOV across the triac for additional Overvoltage protection. Could you please suggest us on the ratings of the varistor. Should it be below or above the Voltage ratings of the Transil.
