For the benefit of those who either couldn't get CAPS to work, couldn't get the Flashlink schematic to work, don't want to buy an RLink, or want to do all development in Linux, this is a Linux JTAG programmer for the STR9.
It can program/verify the primary flash, secondary flash, and the configuration register. Thus, it allows you to boot from primary or secondary flash without CAPS. With minor hacking in combination with the STR9 programming manual, you can set any configuration bits and do complete chip erases with it. Dumping the PC from JTAG doesn't work. The programming tool uses the exact same Flashlink pinouts but very slow clocking, eliminating the need for the lowpass filters in the Flashlink schematic. A JTAG-parport adaptor can be built with just an inverting buffer and a non-inverting buffer.
