Hi,

Is it possible to transmit informaion on SCI ports with a bauds rate equals to 57600 or not?

I have ST72334 with a quartz (8MHz).It doesn't work.

But with a quarz 16MHz, is it possible to communicate?

SCIETPR=0x09; => 55 555 bauds

So, the mistake is 3.5%.

Is it good or not ?

thank you.

Hi Philippe,

with standard transmitter it should work. Although I didn't find anything about the required accuracy I remember an allowed tolerance of 5%.

But also consider the maximum cable-length. From my experience it should not exceed 1.5m with a baud-rate of 57,6kbauds.

By the way: I prefer to use a crystal of 7.3728MHz or even 3.6864MHz wich both are usual standards. You can reach baud-rates up to 115.2kbps with the 3,6864MHz crystal.

The only little inconvenience resulting from this solution: You must calculate all the timings depending on this frequency.

Best regards
