Speed is not critical, I was hoping for 100kHz, but can define it to run much slower.

Ok, wrote a small program that does the job, since I'm a firm believer in open source here it is...

3 Byte transmision: device address, data address, data read/write

runs @ 10kHz (8MHz resonator) and does not hold the I²C spec.
