How to protect applicaiton knowledge??

Hi friends:

Our supplier (drive company), which is good at drive control, and our company, cooperate to develop a new product using ST9. We have our own software respectively. But we havenâ€™t figure out how to protect our own knowledge. How to share the memory space? use an extra memory? â€¦ Could you please give me any advices?

You can use an external memory for storing common variables; say you can use serial eeprom such as 24cxxx series. ST9 and the driveâ€™s controller through I2C protocol can share this memory.
