for a defined test application coming from our application wizard.

Example :

for spc560bxx platform,

Makefile.ftl is used and is calling rules.mk

''c:\SPC5Studio\eclipse\plugins\com.st.tools.spc5.components.platform.spc560bxx_1.0.0.201411181026\component\lib\rsc\rules.mk''

In creating a new component , (Cf HELP SPC5STUDIO)

you will be able to call

ppc-vle-ar.exe this tool is accessible in com.st.tools.spc5.tools.hightec_1.0.0.201306281422 plugin

you have to update your Makefile.
