Can ST guarantee LIS2DH12TR never locks up

Hello,

We are developing a product that has some circuitry permanently powered inside a sealed enclosure.

We need to determine if we need a load switch for the host processor to cycle power to the LIS2DH12TR MEMs chip in the event that the MEMs chip locks up (where the I2C bus does not work).

Since the chip has no reset line, can ST confirm that there is no risk that this chip will lock up to the point that the I2C does not work, so there is no risk of ever having a bricked device that we cannot reset if we don’t cycle the power to the device?

Thank you.

The sensor doesn't need reset. If you are able to guaranteed that there won't be any I2C protocol violation, no significant noise and stable power supply all the time, the sensor won't stuck.

If in you application this is not excluded I would rather add circuit to switch on/off the sensor.
