I’m having accuracy problems that (I believe) are caused by ‘target size.’

I’m looking for information on the size of the area the sensor ‘looks at?’

1. Can you point me to papers that discuss this issue?

2. Could one consider a lens to focus the emitter beam and/or the reflected light?
