distance measurement

Hello

I want to measure the distance of water in a cylindrical container to the lid of the cylindrical container. I need to find the height of the water by subtracting the measured distance from the height of the cylindrical container.

Since there is no pure water in the pipe, we cannot use an ultrasonic sensor. However, the chemicals in the water are not flammable or explosive.

What I want to ask is, is there a distance sensor you can recommend to measure water distance?

pipe height 400 cm.
pipe diameter 100 cm.

Hello,

You can use Time-Of-Light sensors for such applications.
Please have a look to the page here describing ST proposal for liquid level monitoring.

Hi

Our customer definitely does not want an ultrasonic solution due to the chemicals in the water.
