I am seeing many cases where ST employees are accepting the solutions, even when the bug, documentation or other issue has not been solved. Honestly, it seems that they have been commanded to "tick the boxes" no matter what. Can ST employees understand that not an every topic in a forum is a "question" and not an every topic requires a "solution"? Can they understand that a topic can be just a discussion or an article? Also polluting all of the forum with the pathological "begging" for "please accept some post as a solution" everywhere only makes the readability and searching for information worse. If you are making a forum for fools, then at least understand the fact that fools don't care for your "solutions", grammar, format or anything, where a brain must be used, and they will not follow those principles! And it's impossible to "remind" it to every fool of the Earth...
Also the fact that in the notification feed we can see the user, who accepted the solution, but cannot see the same in the topic itself, is an inconsistent behavior.

Using the wrong metrics to gauge success and engagement here as been a long term problem. I think that's more of a management driven problem, and not understanding what's actually needed.
Up / Down voting to gauge value of posts, both questions and responses, would be more helpful to me.
I kind of understand the request signatures, this is a pretty thank-less environment, and getting some closure helps a bit, I just don't see it improving the quality of searches, or any of that nonsense. Or where people accept their own solutions when it's obvious that's not the best answer, or the suggestion that lead to a solution.

Hello @Piranha and @Tesla DeLorean ,
Thanks for sharing your feedback of this. For the context, the "Accept as Solutions" topic feature can be used only by the topic author and a handful of ST Employees who are forum moderators. If you feel some responses are "Accepted" wrongly, please mark it as "Mark Inappropriate Content" and we will review it and remind whoever took the wrong action, to use the feature more carefully.
@Piranha , regarding notification feed. The current logic with notifications is to show the personalized activity on the topics you follow. What would it add if you see on the topic who accepted the solution?
@Tesla DeLorean , I take Up/Down voting option to review, thanks for mentioning it.
If you have anything else to add, feel free to share.
Thanks,
Lina

Generally people have moved away from up/down voting due to concerns of bullying. I'm not sure we have that problem here, and if/when we do we should confront the issue. From a content creation side however it is helpful to determine engagement and if the post hit the right tone, or conveyed useful information, or not.
Having buttons, and having visibility of scoring to the prime movers here would be appreciated.
