Did you mean:

Insert emoji does not work.

Insert emoji:

does not work.

I don't miss it - contrary, I call for removing the unnecessary stuff like this.

We don't need Comic Sans either, if you know what I mean.

Not yet, but it will happen, eventually.

This is still a problem and loading the 1500 pngs simply takes forever, for exactly zero benefit.

This is a technical forum, not a chitchat.

Just switch them off.

Hi @waclawek.jan
Thanks for reaching out again.

We will discuss the performance impact of having emoji's enabled again internally.
Other options to explore could be to stop a preload of the emojis, unless the emoji component of the text editor is used, or to implement Unicode instead.

I will keep you posted on which direction we are taking with this matter.

Best regards,
Laurids

Hi again @waclawek.jan,
I would like to give you an update on this matter.

I have disabled all but some basic emojis that I think can still be applicable to our community.
On my end, this has reduced the amount of requests significantly (from 1500 to 126) in my case, using chrome.

I believe this is a solid compromise. I would like to hear back from you regarding the new results you get through Firefox.

Best regards,
Laurids

Hi @Laurids_PETERSEN ,

I've disabled them locally long ago so can't judge the improvement.

Probably better, but I maintain that they are not needed at all. Technically savvy users can type a colon and a bracket when they need to. (And automatically correct that character combination is inappropriate, either, test, :) :( :) :( ;) :Dto cite a few

Oh, it's even more idiotic than expected. I typed an assortment of normal character smileys above, maybe half a dozen different ones, with and without nose. It threw an "invalid HTML", then upon repeated click on Post it converted *some* of them to images, and during edit it removed *all* of them and upon posting the edit - which was only adding this text without touching the smileys - it removed the converted images... I'm not going to investigate further, I don't care.).

I mean, whatever you do, this won't make it an appropriate forum anyway. Smileys and stuff we and you waste time and energy here are just the insignificant tip of the iceberg. Try to read my comments I gave to your colleagues.

I've been bitten by the idiotic autoconvert again, trying to type number eight and a closing bracket. Oh, c'mon.
