Choosing Decoupling Capacitors Values for TS482IDT audio amplifier.

Hello,

We have an audio amplifier circuit in our design using the TS482IDT chip. We're wondering if there's any guidance on what is a good value for decoupling capacitors for the chip? Is 0.01uF acceptable? Or Could we use 0.1uF?

Thanks,

no calculation. 🙂

just : this is an audio amp, so you want a cap, thats effective at frequencies < 20 kHz, but also filtering/reducing high frequ. input (spikes, noise ) ; and cheap - matching the amp price range -> ceramic caps now cheap, even in "big" values (for decoupling caps) , so i use 10u /25V X7R in 0805 size (about 10ct ); if your supply is good for audio (low impedance, low noise ) this 10u is all you need. (close to chip )

Hello @Kenny03

You can find her the values of the Input coupling capacitor (Cin):

And the values of the Output coupling capacitor (Cout):

Also, you have a typical application schematic that you can use:

decoupling ...power supply ? for audio, 10u minimum close to chip, and 470uF elko somewhere.

..he write: decoupling , not coupling.

Thank you for the rectification. @AScha.3. It was careless mistake.

This helps thanks, could you please give some insight as to how you arrived at 10uF? I'd like to understand the calculation or rationale behind this number.
