Hi,My project is SubGHZ Phy Ping Pong. In AN5568 the Rx consumption varies from 4mA to 10mA. In my project, the Rx consumption current from 8mA to 9mA. I want to reduce the Rx consumption. My configure below,Please recommend me some solutions.Thanks.
A new version of STM32CubeMonitor-RF has been released to support the STM32Cube_FW_WB_V1.14.0.Update the 802.15.4 sniffer firmwre and addition of Nucleo sniffer firmware.Alignment of OpenThread API with the firmware delivered in the STM32Cube_FW_WB_V1.14.0.Alignment of Bluetooth® Low Energy commands on the new firmware release. Refer to user manual UM2288 chapter 3.2 Bluetooth Low Energy stack to see which stack should be used.
Can anyone confirm if it is okay to supply the RF switch directly from a general purpose output of the STM32WL? This way I could control when the switch is working or when the antenna is isolated (off) from the circuit.I see in the datasheet for the STM32WL that "The GPIOs can sink or source up to ±8 mA, and sink or source up to ± 20 mA (with a relaxed VOL/VOH)". While for the RF switch the typical supply current is of 65uA and a maximum of 110uA.Seems that it should be okay. Could anyone that has done this or anyone with the knowledge confirm this is a good practice? Thanks and best regards,Asier
CPU1 should only be used to initialize the System, boot CPU2 and then go in Standby permanently. The CPU2 should be programmed to read sensor data for a few minutes and then also go in Standby Mode. When the whole system is in Standby mode, it should has a power consumption of just few nanoamps. When putting CPU1 in standby and later CPU2 too, the system (or CPU2) does not wake up through my RTC wake up timer respectively CPU2 does not start its program again and i can measure a power consumption of I_SoC = ~0.7mA, so the whole system is not in standby mode. When i don't let boot CPU2 and just program CPU1 with wake up timer in standby, everything works fine. Also when i let CPU1 running endlessly in while(1) and program CPU2 with wake up timer in Standby (but then the power consumption is not the desired -> CPU1 should be in standby!). The working together in Standby is the problem.Board: STM32WL55JC1CPU1: CM4CPU2: CM0+PS: The dual core standby example project of ST could not help me
The STM32WB55 microcontroller have SMPS internally. Can I use it to convert AC power to DC power for the microcontroller? If possible, I want to supply RF inductive charging power directly to the microcontroller.
Hello! We are developing device on STM32WB55 MCU along with mobile app companion. We use stm32wb5x_BLE_Stack_light_fw. The MCU works as Peripheral, mobile app - as Central. In our firmware we use internal FLASH to store some configurations. Our application accesses FLASH according to AN5289 4.7 Flash memory management. However, we noticed that even if there is no active BLE communication, sometimes after FLASH writing operation the BLE connection between the device and mobile companion breaks with reason 0x08. It seems like we lock FLASH and BLE stack stops executing for long enough to not send packet during connection interval. My next step was to update connection parameters to tolerate BLE stack stalling. I use aci_l2cap_connection_parameter_update_req API with parameters:Conn_Interval_Min = 0x18 (30 ms)Conn_Interval_Max = 0x24 (45 ms)Slave_latency = 30Timeout_Multiplier = 600 (6 s)Now I am testing on iPhone 11. This parameters look fine and complies with https://developer.apple.com/ac
I'm developing STM32WB55VQ power system but I wonder the microcontroller automatically use battery power or not when Vdd is cut. Is there anybody can explain this?
Hello,From 1.13.0 to 1.13.3, the command ACI_HAL_TONE_START was removed (get Unknown command return). The release note indicates that some HCI commands were removed not ACI commands. Is it an error or should we prepare to move to the full extended stack to get this API again ?We are using it during industrialization process to check the radio frequency and power. Is it planned to update the API spec (AN5270) to indicate which API are not present in the full stack ?BRAnthony
Currently, we are using the STM32WLE5CC MCU.Some MCUs do not operate normally when the same firmware is inserted into several MCUs. (Abnormal current, delays in Uart log output, RF is not transmitted)If a higher voltage (4.4V) than the MAX operating voltage (3.6V) is applied to these MCUs, it operates normally.I wonder why this problem appearsIf you have such experiences and solutions, please let me know.
I'm designing power supply part of STM32WB55 microcontroller.I'll use a Li-ion battery for power supply of STM32WB55 microcontroller. As we know, the microcontroller requires 3.3 V maximum but Li-ion battery can generate maximum 4.2 V. So, I'll use internal LDO in microcontroller to supply proper voltage from 4.2 V.However, here is a problem in RF power supply, VDDRF.I think VDDRF requires 3.3 V but currently I have only one option (4.2 V).My question is that is it possble use 4.2 V for VDDRF?or if I apply 4.2 V to LDO, LDO can generate 3.3 V in VDD?or LDO can supply power to VDDRF internally?
I have created this easy project for the RAK3172 based on the LoRaWAN end node skeleton (myIoTopenTech/TiposDeDispositivos/TTNMAD_SOUND/STM32CUBEIDE/ttnmad_noise/) available on GITHUB.The program works properly joining to The Things Network using OTAA and sending a dummy payload every 20 seconds... but in the interval between transmisions, the power consumption is about 150uA... I would expect something closer to 15 uA (that is what I get on the same hardware with a similar program developep using MbedOS).I am using the RAK3272S breakout board, so there is nothing connected to the STM32WLE5, and the st-link is disconnected during power consumption measurements.
Hello,I'm doing a new board bring-up and following the document AN5503 (https://www.st.com/resource/en/application_note/an5503-bringing-up-the-bluenrglp-bluenrglps-devices-stmicroelectronics.pdf)At chapter 4 (HS_Startup_time) I use the example firmware to compute this value but my results are very high according to the eval board.UART results:Last: 370. We have implemented BLE application on STM32WB5MMGH. I see that some of the BLE packets are getting lost in transit. The peripheral and the master are in very close proximity. I understand that packets can get lost depending on environment but my question is how to make the communication lossless. Doesn't BLE protocol, in general, provide a lossless option for communication - aka acknowledgements?? Based on the protocol, I see that using 'indication' is a way to make that happen. Is that correct? Since I took over most of the code base, and am somewhat new to the whole BLE application, can someone help me figure out things to check to make sure the application is setup for a lossless communication. I'm not concerned about latency, i'm more interested in having a lossless communication for this application. Any suggestions, advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
How can I interrupt the connection process?
Hi.I would like to send in the worst case 750 chars through ZigBee.Issu: I can send only 59 chars per zigbee message, using Messaging cluster. After reading the ZigBee specification, it seems that this cluster handles sending more than 59 chars, by fragmenting it.Here is what it says:« For supporting larger messages sent over the SE Profile network, both devices must agree upon a common Fragmentation ASDU Maximum Incoming Transfer Size. Please refer to [Z1] for further details on Fragmentation settings. Any message that needs truncation shall truncate on a UTF-8 character boundary. The SE secure payload is 59 bytes for the Message field in a non- fragmented, non-source routed Display Message packet (11 bytes for other Display Message fields). Devices using fragmentation can send a message larger than this. Reserving bytes for source route will reduce this. InterPAN message payload for the “message? is 98 bytes. »Is the Fragmentation implemented on STM?Are there other ways to
If I see the pin layout of STM32WB55VQ,There are multiple VSSRF, VSS, and VDD like below. If I want to see proper function, should I connect all the VSSRF, VSS, and VDD?or is it fine connect only one of them (For example, one ground on VSSRF, one ground on VSS, and one bias on VDD)?
I am trying to create a project that takes advantage of the HAL drivers, but does not include auto generated code. It would be ideal to be able to tell the IDE which HAL drivers to include and start off from there. Unfortunately, I could not find such option. As an alternative approach, I saw cloning the respective MCU firmware package (in my case the STM32CubeWB) and copying the Drivers and Middlewares folders into the project. Unfortunately, this lead to an infinite chain of having to delete certain files and folders and updating include and source paths. I am wondering what would be the recommended strategy to work with the HAL libraries when I do not want to end up with auto generated code. Many thanks in advance!
Hello, I just started working on my first project utilising the STM32 family of processors - STM32wle5 to be exact, but I've ran into some issues. While setting up LORAWAN middleware in CubeMX v. 6.5.0, I've found no options related to RF switches. For the hardware, I just have a single GPIO Output line that is either HIGH or LOW signalising RX/TX and for the RF switch i have this IC. Does this have to be configured outside of CubeMX or is there somewhere a hidden option?
I try to connect NUCLEO-STM32WL55 with the example LoRaWAN_End_Node to a LoRa network here in Medellin Colombia, which use the region band AU915, but i realize that the gateway only detect data from low frequency channels, more specifically sub-band 2 and 3 916.4 MHz to 919.2 MHz.So it would be a great help if you can help me to explore the code in the example to get the algorithm that makes the sweep in frequency, so i can make test and discover if i can solve the problem and send data in all sub-channels.Thank you
As of now, I work with the STM32WLE5JC controller. in that I need to interface CAN protocol for STM32WLE5JC board-to-board communication. For this is there any library available for this specific STM32WL controller and also which CAN module is suitable for interfacing with the STM32WL microcontroller. kindly guide me on this.
