I have a product image that is not square, how can I cut out the white background, within GFXdesigner?
Hello everybody,I'm developing a board with STM32F429 configured for a 8080II interface TFT display.I have a 240x320 TFT (ILI9341) and 5-6-5 frame buffer in internal RAM.Everything works and actually I flush the buffer on lcd via a loop that write at 0x6C000004 the pixel words (A1 used for register/data selector on Nor bank 4).Now, for a better perfomance I would like to use the DMA.I configured it for memory to memory transaction of 76800 word of frame buffer. What I got is that only a part of display is refreshed. The photo with "hello world" is about flushing with a loop, the other is related to flushing with DMA.Do you ever face any sort of this problem? Thanks for your attention and for any suggestion you'll give me.By(t)e.
I capture an image using the ov9655 camera module. The selected the image format as rgb565. The image captured is getting captured clearly (as i can see it on the lcd). As a next step, I wanted to analyse how the image is stored in the camera buffer. The size of buffe is 320 and consits of 16 bit 320 HEX values. I want to convert this to rgb565 and check if I get the correct pixel color. Could anyone help me with this? I am confused as the camera datasheet talks something about the Bayer pattern for output patter which seems to be different from the arrangement of rgb565 format
Hello everyone.I want to show a picture from external SDRAM in 8bit mode using FMC with stm32f429zi discovery board. As long as I use FMC in 16bit mode with 16-bit byte enabled, I can show a picture but as soon as I uncheck "16-bit byte enable", even in 16 bit mode, everything get ruined. Thanks
When will STM32CubeMX support STM32L4+ TouchGFX ? We have a project waiting for this.
I want to create bitmap dynamically. I called bmpId = Bitmap::dynamicBitmapCreate(800, 480, Bitmap::RGB565); I found bmpId is 0xffff.and then call Bitmap::cacheGetAddress(bmpId);system will dead loop in Bitmap::cacheGetAddress(bmpId);
hi,i have a STM32F429 custom board with 320x240 display. now my boss want to move to larger display with 1024x600 resolution still RGB 18 bit Hsync/Vsync DE and Dotclock.i'm plan to test it at full resolution (RGB565 with 16bit per pixel) as i have a 8MB SDRAM so framebuffer(s) room is not an issue, but i'm wondering about the STM32F429 capability to sustain such bitrate stream between ext SDRAM and the RGB encoder HW module (at 60Hz refresh rate?)is that feasible and/or tested?on the other hand, i'm asked to put up a larger screen, not a higher res! :)so i'm wondering if there's a way to double every pixel on a line (from 1024 to 512) and/or to double any line (from 600 to 300) or reduce refresh rate (from 60 to 30..), so BW would decrease up to 1/8.anyone chiming in with his thoughtful hints!? :)bye
HiWhat is the easiest way to interface a camera. AN5020 lists a number of camera sensors supported, however only the old OV2640 is included in the support packages. The most complex issue is setting up the sensor registers - do the manufacturers supply a known working set ?There seem to be two main manufacturers : onsemi and omnivision.onsemi have a frame grabber and software to set it up - though its OTT and also looks a little incomplete regarding the range of sensorsOmnivision have yet to get back to me yet. There are evaluation kits available.but I don't know whats included, and I think some NDA type support is required.Which is best for long term supply (product obsolesce) and lowest power do you think ? My preffered choice for the moment is the MT9P031. Omni seem to be concentrating on MIPI interfaced devices.
We are using a STM32H743I-EVAL2 and have our LCD frame buffers running on SDRAM1 using the FMC. On startup we are loading image data from QSPI flash to SDRAM and then using DMA2D to composite our displays together. However on startup we get a DMA2D transfer error when I try to DMA my first screen. Even after aborting and retrying the DMA operation fails.Subsequent calls to DMA2D later in the program do not appear to have any issues. My question is what causes transfer errors, how to prevent or mitigate them, so that I can achieve reliable performance of DMA2D.I saw this other post, which seems similar, but it did not appear to have a satisfactory resolution.https://community.st.com/s/question/0D50X0000Amkg9P/how-to-handle-dma2d-transfer-errorThanks.

In applications for STM32f746-disco board, the display's parameters in rk043fn48h.h are as the following:/** * @brief RK043FN48H Timing */ #define RK043FN48H_HSYNC ((uint16_t)41) /* Horizontal synchronization */ #define RK043FN48H_HBP ((uint16_t)13) /* Horizontal back porch */ #define RK043FN48H_HFP ((uint16_t)32) /* Horizontal front porch */ #define RK043FN48H_VSYNC ((uint16_t)10) /* Vertical synchronization */ #define RK043FN48H_VBP ((uint16_t)2) /* Vertical back porch */ #define RK043FN48H_VFP ((uint16_t)2) /* Vertical front porch */ /** * @brief RK043FN48H frequency divider */ #define RK043FN48H_FREQUENCY_DIVIDER 5 /* LCD Frequency divider */While in the datasheet of the display, the timing parameters are stated as the followingYou can check the datasheet from this link https://mikrocontroller.bplaced.net/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/RK043FN48H-CT672B-V1.0.pdfCould someone please explain the relation between timings stated in datasheet and the parameters co
Hello,I ported the first example in the article "Interfacing with hardware in TouchGFX Applications" to TouchGFX Designer V4.10 and then ported it to STM32CubeIDE V1.0.2.Please find it in attachment. I hope you find it helpful.I didn't use the ioc and I am not sure its gonna work.Board: STM32F746G-DISCOTools:IAR EWARM V8.40.1STM32CubeIDE V1.0.2STM32CubeProgrammer V2.1.0Note: STM32CubeIDE doesn't load the assets to the external memory. You need STM32CubeProgrammer having the external loader "N25Q128A_STM32F746G-DISCO" selected to load the assets. With regards,Badreddine
I have a custom board based on the H743Viit does not have external SDRAM but a QSPI flash for storage. My board has an external Video Processor with SDram connected by FMC-LCD-16bit interface.I would like to use TouchGFX , does it need the external SDram ?
Does anyone know of a driver for ILI9806 over DSI.Best regardsThomas
Four months of trying to solve this on and off and still no closer to finding a solution. The 'JPEG_DecodingUsingFs_DMA' example works great on the stm32f769i-disco board but porting it to custom hardware and I never get an interrupt of ANY kind from the jpeg block (HAL_JPEG_IRQHandler) or DMA (DMA2_Stream3_IRQHandler & DMA2_Stream4_IRQHandler).Other peripherals (USART, DAC, ADC, QSPI) all generate DMA interrupts as expected but nothing from the JPEG hardware.Does anyone know of any issues with the CubeMX initialisation of the jpeg hardware that the disco example does differently?Any specific things to be done that are buried in the MSP file or have to be enabled in a header somewhere?
EDIT - Solution was to increase key (hitbox) size, to prevent touch 'sliding' off the key before completing lifting of finger tipUsing the CustomKeyboard example provided with the TouchGFX designer v10 we have created our own implementation of the Keyboard class in the form of a numpad. This seems to work well enough, except for the behaviour in the question description: Pressing any of the keys will sometimes result in the key lighting up as it is supposed to do (the image that is set as highlightBitmap is shown), but the value associated with the pressed key (e.g. '1' or '5') is not added to the buffer (which is not at it's maximum amount of characters yet). Pressing of the same key will either show the same behaviour again, or suddenly work as it is supposed to. The behaviour is not reliably repeatable.Example:Buffer is showing its initial value of '0''1' is pressedhighlightBitmap is shown for '1' keyBuffer changes to '1''2' is pressedhighlightBitmap is shown for '2' keyBuffer change
Hi, I'm trying to change the button bitmap from "button_pressed.png" to "button.png", after an interrupt event (without touching the display) . Could anyone shed some light on where I can swap the graphics? I'm a CPP novice, so the more information you can provide the better. many thanks, K
I need information on interfacing STM32L4R9AI development board AMOLED display with an external hardware and to dsplay text over it which changes in real time.
Hi all,For debugging purposes I would like to add hardware button presses to the simulator view in order to be able to better mimic the hardware that we run on (keypresses are working on the hardware already). I've edited the makefile used to build the simulator to include my added code, and I followed the same procedure of creating a KeySampler class that is of the type touchgfx::ButtonController and added the static_cast<HALSDL2&>(hal).setButtonController(&btn);To main.cpp. Right now for simplicity's sake the sample function of the class always returns "true" with the button press value hard coded to match one that should produce a reaction on the screen. Despite this the simulator GUI does not respond to the "button press". Using the touchgfx_printf() shows that the initialization for the KeySampler is being called, but that the sample function is not. Am I taking the wrong approach? Does this work differently in the simulator HAL than the hardware HA
Hi,When I build STM32L4R9AI-disco touchgfx demo code with IAR 8.4 , I got 55 link errors (3 different type) like the following..Type 1.Error[Li060]: module "Application.o(touchgfx_core_release.a)" contains C++ code built for use with the (E)C++98 library. This code is not link compatible with the new (C++14) library.Type 2.Error[Li009]: runtime model conflict: Module Application.o(touchgfx_core_release.a) specifies that '__CPP_Language' must be 'C++', but module activity_bars.o has the value 'C++14'. Modules compiled with C++14 are not link-compatible with modules that are compiled with older C++. Type 3.Error[Li005]: no definition for "__iar_FSin" [referenced from Math3D.o(touchgfx_core_release.a)] Q1. Is there any solution with my current IAR EW? Q2. Please let me know if I can build that code with STM32CubeIDE. Thanks in advance!
Hi !I am using touchgfx Version 4.10.0 and visual studio community 2019 version 16.0.4 and getting "Severity Code Description Project File Line Suppression StateError LNK1104 cannot open file '..\..\touchgfx\\lib\win\msvs\libtouchgfx_v142_debug.lib' Application D:\Technical_Docs\Touchgfx\GettingStarted7Inch\simulator\msvs\LINK 1" when i build touchgfx simulator target. Please help me to resolve this.Regards,VK Verma
Can I add a rotating knob ? If so , how ? Would it be possible to load a filmstrip ?I use that for VST plugins although I see no widgets for that ?Maybe the circle progress , somehow ?
Hi Guys, I'll be starting new with the STM32H753BI and need to ask a few questions.1. Using the HDMI function on the MPU: Do I have to pay any royalties or anything else to use the HDMI interface in our own commercial product?2. Breakout board for the STM32H753BI: Where can I purchase breakout boards for the Microcontroller? Thanks and hope to hear from you soon.Pete :)
