Solved

Hello STMicroelectronics Support Team, I am currently working on a development project where I'm utilizing the LIS2DW12 accelerometer. However, I've encountered an issue with the current consumption of the accelerometer on our custom board. I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter.Configuration Used:lis2dw12_block_data_update_set(&dev_ctx1, PROPERTY_ENABLE);lis2dw12_full_scale_set(&dev_ctx1, LIS2DW12_8g);lis2dw12_filter_path_set(&dev_ctx1, LIS2DW12_LPF_ON_OUT);lis2dw12_filter_bandwidth_set(&dev_ctx1, LIS2DW12_ODR_DIV_4);lis2dw12_power_mode_set(&dev_ctx1, LIS2DW12_HIGH_PERFORMANCE);lis2dw12_data_rate_set(&dev_ctx1, LIS2DW12_XL_ODR_25Hz);Issue: After incorporating the LIS2DW12 accelerometer into our custom board, we noticed a current consumption of approximately 1.5 mA. However, upon removing the accelerometer, the current consumption dropped to 1.5 uA. We expected the accelerometer to be a low-power device, and this discrepancy in current consu

ST25R3911B-DISCO is not suitable for its GUI. Use the HAL library to write programs to read ST25. Is there a related program?

Hello,I'm trying to send data over uart from a another file.My main :UART_HandleTypeDef huart1; DMA_HandleTypeDef hdma_usart1_tx;   int main(void) { MX_USART1_UART_Init();   While(1) { } }My error is :../Core/Src/AT_Command.c:22:21: error: 'huart1' undeclared (first use in this function)I'have read that a must declare "UART_HandleTypeDef" as extern...but i'no unsterdant how.do you have more information ?

i got schematics for a board that i should work on. it's stm32 L0 based. they did put SWO also on CS of a SPI EEPROM. I'm not a hardware designer / debug protocol specialist but i could imagine debug scenarios where toggling the chip select of an EEPROM while debugging leads to unexpected results. Would you say that putting SWO also on CS of a SPI EEPROM is safe / state of the art?

I understand need to send Instruction 0x90, followed by 3 dummy bytes 0x00 to external flash. The rest configuration is OK. The code is as following. This is SPI_INIT function.static void MX_QUADSPI_Init(void){ /* QUADSPI parameter configuration*/ hqspi.Instance = QUADSPI; hqspi.Init.ClockPrescaler = 0; hqspi.Init.FifoThreshold = 4; hqspi.Init.SampleShifting = QSPI_SAMPLE_SHIFTING_HALFCYCLE; hqspi.Init.FlashSize = 23; hqspi.Init.ChipSelectHighTime = QSPI_CS_HIGH_TIME_2_CYCLE; hqspi.Init.ClockMode = QSPI_CLOCK_MODE_0; hqspi.Init.FlashID = QSPI_FLASH_ID_2; hqspi.Init.DualFlash = QSPI_DUALFLASH_DISABLE; if (HAL_QSPI_Init(&hqspi) != HAL_OK) {  Error_Handler(); }} and the following function is used to read ID from Flash. The Manufacturing ID is of 1 byte and Device ID is of 2 bytes. So the length is 3. Address is 0x00. how to send 3 dummy bytes (0x00). Shall I edit dummy cycles for it? void QSPI_Flash_ID_Read(uin

Hi everybody, i've developed an external loader for a STM32H7A3IIK6 MCU to write and read, using STMCubeProgrammer, an ISSI QSPI External Flash [IS25LP128F]. The External Loader works perfectly except for the following issue : the first time i open Cube Programmer and try to access the External Flash Memory [read or write] the Init function fails [even if i do not power cycle the electronic board]. Could it be a problem related to the "ld" file [here attached]?

Greetings,What is the reason for not being able to use the SMPS (or the SMPS supplying LDO) option for VOS0 on STM32H745II?VOS0 means the highest voltage, so won't the dissipation on the LDO be the highest?I have been using the PWR_SMPS_1V8_SUPPLIES_LDO option with VOS0 (core running at 480 MHz) and have seen no problem.Can you please tell me what are the possible risks of using this configuration?Best regards,Domagoj

Hello all.I am trying to build up a LoRaWAN end node on a single core STM32WLE5. I am new to LoRa development and thought I would leverage the repo LoRaWAN_End_Node which uses the dual core (STM32WL55 Nucleo). I went ahead in the ioc and tried my best to match up everything HOWEVER there is one piece that seems to be critically different and I don't know how I should set up my settings to account for this....The RTC section on the WL55 seems to be scaled down quite a bit in the Parameter Settings section compared to WLE5......Can someone tell me how to go about setting up the WLE5 RTC section such that it would work for LoRaWAN and be comparable to the WL55 setup? thank you.

Hi!I hope there is someone with a little experience in this topic. We are trying to get eth0 without a PHY running.HW development decided to connect an ethernet switch (LAN9668) directly to the eth0 interface. MDIO and RGMII are connected.We are trying to describe the device-tree using the "fixed-link" property:&ethernet0 { status = "okay"; pinctrl-0 = <&ethernet0_rgmii_pins_a &ethernet0_pps_pins_a>; pinctrl-1 = <&ethernet0_rgmii_sleep_pins_a &ethernet0_pps_sleep_pins_a>; pinctrl-names = "default", "sleep"; phy-mode = "rgmii-id"; max-speed = <1000>; //phy-handle = <&phy0>; nvmem-cells = <&ethernet_mac_address>; nvmem-cell-names = "mac-address";   fixed-link { speed = <1000>; full-duplex; }; };We removed: mdio0 { #address-cells = <1>; #size-cells = <0>; compatible = "snps,dwmac-mdio"; phy0: ethernet-phy@0 { reg = <0>; }; }; };But we are still not able to get the link up.Wi

Hello, by using a STM32F429I-DISC1 I'm trying to read/write to a thumb drive.When I open and load the provided example in fw packet, it works without problem but that example is an old one and not a CubeMX example so it makes things rough for me.I tried to test STM32 USB Training 11.2 but it didn't work, I tried other examples I found over net but still no luck. As @GNico.2 mentioned in his this topic code never reaches to APPLICATION_READY state. A solution is proposed as upgrading USB Host V3.5.0 middleware from github, Is that also applicable for F4 series?

I can't seem to figure out how to get STM32CubeMX to let me select VOS1 for an STM32H755.I'm using direct SMPS supply. In an older version of CubeMX, I was running VOS0 and 480MHz, but I see that that is not allowed anymore (Have to use LDO for it, which I didn't set up my board for). So I want to run at 400MHz, but CubeMX won't let me select anything but VOS2 or VOS3, which limits me to 300MHz, which doesn't work for me.Even if I select LDO, though, CubeMX is only presenting VOS2 or VOS3. What am I missing? I know this used to work in an older version...

Hi,I have an application using STM32H7B3, SBSFU and TouchGFX. We are running out of flash space so we want to place TouchGFX images to external flash. I understand that to achieve this, we need two SBSFU active and download slots. The first active slot and download slot are for application code, and they need to be placed in the internal flash with read protection. Images don't need read protection, so the second active slot and download slot can be used for them in the external flash.I am wondering can this be achieved with SBSFU and are there any examples? There is the 2_Images_ExtFlash example for B-L475E-IOT01A, but it has both download slots placed in the external flash which we cannot do since the active firmware slot would be swapped there and it has no read protection. Although, I am a bit confused since the example has no SWAP area so how does it even work?Thanks!

Hi,I am working on STM32G474RET6 MCU in i2c slave mode. I want to make a polling mode with DMA but the problem is i don't know the receiving data's length. Every time it can be different. But 'HAL_I2C_Slave_Receive_DMA(I2C_HandleTypeDef *hi2c, uint8_t *pData, uint16_t Size)' function takes size parameter. I tried to give the size parameter buffer size. And for example i gave 20 as a parameter but get 5 byte data.When i do that, it takes the whole data to the buffer but hi2c state stays busy and it does get into ErrorCallback instead of RxCompltdCallback.I tried to give the size 1 and takes the data one by one. It takes the data. But it overwrites the data in the same column of the buffer itself and in the end i can only take the last byte. And also again it goes into ErrorCallback. Is there any way I can communicate without knowing the size parameter?

Hi,I tried the following program:#include <Wire.h>   void setup() { Wire.begin(); //creates a Wire object // set I/O pins to outputs Wire.beginTransmission(0x20); // MCP 23008 Port Expander Wire.write(0x00); //selects the IODIRA register Wire.write(0x00); //this sets all port A pins to outputs Wire.endTransmission(); //stops talking to device }   void loop() { Wire.beginTransmission(0x20); Wire.write(0x09); //selects the GPIO pins Wire.write(0xFF); // turns on pins 0 and 1 of GPIOA Wire.endTransmission(); //ends communication with the device }I use D15 (SCL) ans D14 (SDA) with a Microchip PKSerial-I2C1 demoboard. Program does not work.Can somebody please help?Dear Peter

When creating a project with the STM32CubeIDE, the resulting files have a lot of different license requirements, including a large number of BSD-style licenses that require the reproduction of some piece of text in something that is distributed to end users. And I probably have not yet found all of the open-source licenses.Is there any practical and lawful way to deal with all the licenses that a given embedded project is subject to? I guess the main stages would be (1) finding out about all the licenses incl. those that reside somewhere else than in the header files listed for the project and (2) gathering the license texts to one place for printing or other processing.Any license-wise simpler alternative ways of software/firmware development you might find worth recommending?Thanks...

Is there a zero crossing detector inside the stm32 itself?I am using a stm32f334R8

Many thanks for your help!Currently, we are using the SRAM4 memory as a shared RAM mapped between the M4 and the A7 cores. We have a Linux application that writes full 32bit values from the A7 core, as in the following snippet: *(volatile uint32_t *)p_sram4_mapped = 0x1441cddc; // (core A7) *(volatile uint32_t *)p_sram4_mapped = 0xa55a3663; // (core A7) ...the M4 core application that uses the same shared memory may read from it a 32bit word comprised of 16bit values coming from different A7 write operations, e.g. reading this way: const uint32_t read_value = *(volatile uint32_t *)p_sram4_mapped; // (core M4)read_value could be OK, e.g. 0x1441cddc, 0xa55a3663but read_value could be also a 16-bit hybrid, e.g. 0x14413663, 0xa55acddcThe same is true also in the vice versa case when M4 writes and A7 reads.I wonder if there is a way to make the read/write operations from the A7/M4 cores atomic on a 32-bit size instead of a 16-bit size.Many thanks again for your help!

I would like to know for this product STM32373C-EVAL if the board has a microcontroller to program so that I can evaluate both adc and read data from both adc. and where do i get the steps from software

Board: Nucleo-f756ZG and Nucleo-F767ZIWhen i reset quickly board using reset button during execute below code, The board set RDP protection Level 1.Below code contains only rootcause. I know that is not correct usage (missing OB lock, wait for busy flag etc) but i have an application that using FLASH->OPTCR |= FLASH_OPTCR_OPTSTRT and after quick reset few times, the application freezed (like after changed RDP). I checked the board using STM32CubeProgrammer and the board have set RDP level 1 after this case.Larger gaps (above 1 second) between resets do not cause this problem.My code:int main(void){ /* Reset of all peripherals, Initializes the Flash interface and the Systick. */ HAL_Init(); /* Configure the system clock */ SystemClock_Config(); BSP_LED_Init(LED_GREEN); BSP_LED_On(LED_GREEN); HAL_FLASH_OB_Unlock(); FLASH->OPTCR |= FLASH_OPTCR_OPTSTRT; while (1) {}}I also created issue on github F7:Spontaneous setting of RDP 1 after reset when saving option bytes

Should be "PRESC" rather than "PREC" I did not check but I guess this will be in other RMs too.JW

I have a EVB NUCLEO-H503RB and tried to implement I3C Target feature. Before testing on I3C system, I would like to test some basic read write with legacy I2C Controller. However, I just found that it seems to be not support with static address on I3C Target feature: Is there any ways to initialization I3C target with a default address to communicate I2C controller? Or is there any other MCU series could communicate I2C controller with I3C target features?

Hi!As far as I looked into the source code, only is i2c4 is used for communication to pmic.Our custom board has an external PLL connected to i2c1. The PLL needs an initial configuraion to provide 48MHz.It would be ideal if I could do this during tf-a bl2 stage.What I have tried:Added i2c1 to the device tree:&i2c1 { pinctrl-names = "default"; pinctrl-0 = <&i2c1_pins_c>; i2c-scl-rising-time-ns = <100>; i2c-scl-falling-time-ns = <7>; clock-frequency = <400000>; status = "okay"; };This is my i2c1 test code: int ret, val; struct dt_node_info i2c_info; struct i2c_handle_s *i2c = &i2c_handle; struct stm32_i2c_init_s i2c_init; uint32_t pll_i2c_addr = 0x6D; uint8_t data[18] = {0};   i2c_info.base = 0x40012000; i2c_info.status = 2; i2c_info.clock = I2C1_K;   i2c->i2c_base_addr = i2c_info.base; i2c->dt_status = i2c_info.status; i2c->clock = i2c_info.clock;   i2c->i2c_state = I2C_STATE_RESET; i

HI folks!,I'm here because of I am a little bit confused about the behaviour of MOVEcommands sent to a pair of L6470 devices connected in daisy chain.The problem that I'm facing happens also if I sent the commands only toone motor.In our project both the stepper motor spin a valve and in this project'sphase we can see the valve mounted on the motor's rotor.The motor step angle is 1.8 degrees (200 full steps per revolution) andwe set the STEP_SEL field of the STEP_MODE register to the value of 7 so that the step mode selected is 1/128 microstep.The Homing procedure goes fine, the homing switch is correctly engagedand after that event if I sent a GETPAR(ABSPOS) I get the zero value forthe ABSPOS register.With a motor with 200 full steps per revolution and a step mode of 128microsteps, to make the rotor perform a full revolution of 360 degreeswe send to the stepper a MOVE(DIR, 25600): we effectively see the rotorrotating for 360 degrees.Then the PROBLEM:After the Homing procedure, we want
