Hi All.   Am trying to install TRUEStudio on new Linux Mint 21.2 system, but get the following error: _______________________________________________________________________ Package libwebkitgtk-3.0-0 is not available, but is referred to by another package. This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, oris only available from another source E: Package 'libwebkitgtk-3.0-0' has no installation candidate _______________________________________________________________________ Research shows this library was retired from Ubuntu/Mint years ago, and is no longer available for installation. (The current version of libwebkitgtk in Mint is 6.0-4)   Any suggestions about how I might proceed?   Take care all.   M

Using the suggestions from https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-wireless/stm32wb-sram2a-what-is-the-size-that-can-be-used-without/m-p/176847I can now address the remaining non secure SRAM2A as BKUP_RAM. During runtime this seems to work just fine, but after Standby the RAM is still cleared, even though RRS in PWR->CR3 is and remains set. Is this a "feature" of the wireless stack or am I doing something else wrong? As you can see in the screenshot, I stopped the operation on SystemInit. This is called before any loading of RAM data, so my canaries (expected are 0x55 at the beginning and 0xAA at the end of the test array) should even still be alive if NOLOAD didn't work for some reason, but instead I have clean zeros(! no random data) throughout the array.

Dear ST community,I am currently trying to install an 8bit 8080 LCD , and i figured out that it needs FMC $ to be set up in devicetree in order to interface with it using DRM in Linux. i have the following device tree pinctrl nodes setup   fmc_pins_mx: fmc_mx-0 { pins { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('D', 0, AF12)>, /* FMC_D2 */ <STM32_PINMUX('D', 1, AF12)>, /* FMC_D3 */ <STM32_PINMUX('D', 4, AF12)>, /* FMC_NOE */ <STM32_PINMUX('D', 5, AF12)>, /* FMC_NWE */ <STM32_PINMUX('D', 7, AF12)>, /* FMC_NE1 */ <STM32_PINMUX('D', 14, AF12)>, /* FMC_D0 */ <STM32_PINMUX('D', 15, AF12)>, /* FMC_D1 */ <STM32_PINMUX('E', 7, AF12)>, /* FMC_D4 */ <STM32_PINMUX('E', 8, AF12)>, /* FMC_D5 */ <STM32_PINMUX('E', 9, AF12)>, /* FMC_D6 */ <STM32_PINMUX('E', 10, AF12)>, /* FMC_D7 */ <STM32_PINMUX('F', 0, AF12)>, /* FMC_A0 */ <STM32_PINMUX('G', 9, AF12)>; /*

How to use X-CUBE-SPN2 in STM32CubeIDE. It creates errors while adding X-CUBE-SPN2 in STM32CubeIDE. I have done every solution given. But they are not giving the result. I would be grateful if anyone could come up with a complete solution

I used PA11 and PA12 as standard GPIO in STM32U595ZJT6Q and system frequency is 4MHz. Config PA11 and PA12 to PP output mode ,no pull up.Don't set this gpios to high, the mini system current is 3mA,but set this gpios to high, the current is 22mA.Test PA10 or PA0,this current no changed.I reference RM0456 rev4  13.3.16  and 10.7.12 ,used PA11 and PA12 as standard GPIOS,the USBPWREN and VDD11USBDIS bits in PWR_VOSR must be set.I config these bit before config GPIO, but this current no changed, still is 22mA.

Dear ST,Our customers have encountered some problems when using STM32WL in FSK mode. We read the document es0500-stm32wl55xx-stm32wl54xx-device-errata-stmicroelectronics.pdf. There is a suggestion to replace the 32Mhz HSE with 31.25Mhz, but we are changing it. After that, I did a CW wave test and found that the frequency shifted by about 20Mhz. How can we correct this problem? Thank you.

Hi, I'm using an STM32F401RE board for a class(programming using MacOS). Right now, I'm using VSCode and make to edit and compile my code, then using stlink to flash it. All I'm trying to do is print hello world to the tty.usbmodem* screen in the /dev/ directory. To do this, I'm using the screen /dev/tty.usbmodem* but all I'm getting is [screen is terminating] anyone know why?Here is my code:while (1) {HAL_GPIO_TogglePin(GPIOA, LD2_Pin);strcpy((char*)buf, "hello world!\r\n");HAL_UART_Transmit(&huart2, buf, strlen((char*)buf), HAL_MAX_DELAY);HAL_Delay(500);}

I created a little assembly project on Uvision5 but I fastly reached the code size limit and I can't manage for my assembly code to run on stm32cubeide, do you know how to run assembly code please?

Hi ST Community,I am trying to flash a eMMC with STM32CubeProgrammer, in a STM32MP157F custom board. I am using a GPT partition file and a img.I can see the system is creating partitions and flashing, but the structure is wrong for eMMC, so it does not boot-up. Sometimes, trying different structures, I get an error "wrong memory layout" in the console when I am trying to flash. The tsv file I am using at the moment is:And the gpt table is as follows:I believe the solution is in the right configuration of the table, can somebody detail on how to do it?Thanks.

Hi,I'm trying to write RGB data directly to an 8+8+8 bit i8080 screen using the DMA2D and FSMC peripherals on a STM32U575 Nucleo board. As a test, I set up the FSMC and manually sent data one uint8_t byte at a time - this works fine. However, I'd like to use DMA2D to write directly to the FSMC address. The manual says that if the AHB transaction size > memory data size, the transaction should be split into smaller consecutive memory accesses. It's my understanding that the DMA2D outputs 32-bit data, split according to the required format. Therefore, before setting up DMA2D, I first ran the following code to see if writing 32-bit values to the address would work as expected. OLED_Block_Set(120,132,160,160);volatile uint32_t* test_ptr = ( volatile uint32_t* )0x60000001;*test_ptr = ((uint32_t)0xFFFFFFFF);__DSB(); __ISB();*test_ptr = ((uint32_t)0xFFFFFFFF);__DSB(); __ISB();*test_ptr = ((uint32_t)0xFFFFFFFF);__DSB(); __ISB();*test_ptr = ((uint32_t)0xFFFFFFFF);__DSB(); __ISB();*test_

Howdy,I am working on a project that utilizes a VL53L5CX ToF Sensor, and I am looking to use the STSW-IMG035 libraries for M0+ chips in my project. In the databrief for the sensor, it refers to "an easy-to-read user manual" which I cannot seem to find anywhere on the internet. Is there a user manual for these libraries? And if so, where can I find them?Thank you

Hi!I am building PCB around STM32F469ZET6.Now LSE and HSE crystals and accompanying capacitors need to be chosen.AN2867 says capacitors values should be CL1 = CL2 = 2 x (Cl - Cs)Cl – crystal’s load capacitanceCs – stray capacitance of oscillator circuit (mystical value equal to 5 pF)….so if I choose crystal with Cl = 12,5 pF, I get:CL1 = CL2 = 2 x (12,5 pF – 5 pF) = 15 pF.Nice………but before going further with Gm’s, I chose to check my theory on freely available NUCLEO Board, just to check my understanding is correct. If I look at NUCLEO-F439ZI’s schematics (this is F4 , but not mine):https://www.st.com/resource/en/schematic_pack/nucleo_144pins_sch.zip ….I see that ST chose for this board to use LSE crystal NX3215SA-32.768KHZ-EXS00A-MU00525, which has Cl = 12,5 pF, so following AN2867, capacitors C36 and C35 should have been:C36 = C35 = 2 x (12,5 pF – 5 pF) = 15 pF….but ST chose to use 2 pF ??!?!?!?!?!?Why?

I have a machine which have 2 BLDC motors and I need to control it. I'm planning to control the motors by tapping the membrane keypad which already exists in the machine using microcontroller signal. I found the 2 pins that connected to certain button and when I keep pressing the button and checking the continuity, multimeter didn't give a beep sound. When I checked the voltage difference in each pin when I pressed the membrane button one was giving 14V while other pin having 4V. But these voltages didn't fluctuate when I pressed the button, but the button function keeps working which means the button membrane should be working fine. Is there a way to mimic the button press using a microcontroller or I need to know an alternative way to control 2 BLDC motors which are 12V and 15A rated current.

Hello! I have a Nucleo Board MB 1641 (STM32WB15CC) and I am developing an application using BLE, in P2P mode. Including based on the usage example provided by ST.The application needs to transmit from the UART to the BLE and return the response from the BLE to the UART. However, it is noted that this "route" takes around 940ms. Analyzing, I observed that the problem may be at the UART (TX) output, as measuring the time from BLE output to buffer return, we have 140ms. In other words, the loss is located in the transfer from BLE to UART, in the return message to our devices. It turns out that our field devices (UART) have a listening time of 1s, and adding up all the time, we have 1020ms, meaning that the device does not receive the response.I think the clue is in the sharing of the serial port by ST-LINK. I powered the board with a USB cable without communication pins (electric power supply only) and the problem persists. Could you, in your infinite kindness and wisdom, help me?Grateful

Hello everyone! After many hours of grinding through forums & discussing with ChatGPT (really, ChatGPT is like my best friend now), I still fail to understand what must be a simple notion with an easy solution. This is why I'm posting this in forums. I have a device which is transmitting data constantly (with about 4-5 Mbits/sec rates). I use HAL_UART_Transmit_DMA method for it. This part works correctly. I also need to receive some commands from the PC to configure or signal the device. The frequency of this command reception is very low (about 1-2 commands per 10 seconds, usually). I try using HAL_UART_Receive_IT method for it (because from what I understand, it is best practice for such a requirement). I want the UART interrupt to trigger only on actual data reception (like RXNE - Receive Data Register Not Empty). I have a buffer of 1 byte long and I try filling it via the following command -> uint8_t rxBuffer[1];__HAL_USART_ENABLE_IT(&husart3, USART_IT

Hi,This is driving me crazy, let me explain.Setup : NucleoU575 with MX25R6435F in QSPI with wire jumper cables. Here's a code adapted from an ST example for the stm32l496g_discovery.The modifications were minor, and we simplified it to the maximum, just:Set a row of strings.Erase the sector.Write the row to this sector.Read back the memory. If I keep the initial row:uint8_t aTxBuffer[] = "QSPI communication based on DMA QSPI communication based on DMA QSPI communication based on DMA QSPI communication based on DMA QSPI communication based on DMA QSPI communication based on DMA";This works as expected, even when I play with it by changing random letters, and the test is consistent and can be repeated several times with no errors. The madness starts here: if I replace it (and that's the only modification) with another row string like this one:uint8_t aTxBuffer[] = "This is a test let's try it";Now, the readbacks are incomplete and inconsistent (stop randomly before), even though the second

In my design, it is very important that a run-away MCU be stopped before it can do damage.  In my case damage would occur if a specific MCU pin goes high for more than about 5 microseconds.  Are there any recommendations on the best way to do this (e.g., watchdog timer, Hard Fault interrupt)?

Hello, are there any STM32 MCUs that support WiFi?The ST products I found on the internet are old and not recommend for new designs.I have attended a few STM32 security web events and find the security extensions of the current STM32WB series looks very interesting for me.Currently I am looking for an successor of a TI SimpleLink based project.Best regards and thanks for reading this,Edmund

Hello,I've already used the vl53l5cx and it worked flawlessly, so I decided to try the newest one. I'm working on an esp32s3 and a satel-vl53l8 using the ULD. I completed the platform file, and it initialized the sensor without errors. But when the sensor tries to start ranging, I get an VL53L8CX_STATUS_ERROR caused by two data sizes which should be the same but aren't.//In vl53l8cx_api.c //vl53l8cx_start_ranging() if(tmp != p_dev->data_read_size) { status |= VL53L8CX_STATUS_ERROR; }I can’t figure out how to fix it. If you need any additional information, I will be pleased to answer. Thanks

Hi, I'm trying to set up the I2S of STM32F303CBT6. Everything was fine until I checked the box "Master Clock Output", it said "With this I2S Clock (8.0 MHz), the divider value (0) is too low to obtain the desired Audio Frequency(44.0 KHz). The I2S Clock must be higher than (39.424 MHz)", although I had turned on the HSE with PLL, which is 72MHz of system clock. Am I missing something or it's a problem with STM32CubeIDE itself?Edit: Added IOC file.

File created on SD Card shows incorrect creation time.shown in above fig in red all files which gets created on SD card carry same creation time.Wondering if missing something in CubeMX settings

I have been trying to drive a 24V motor with sensorless FOC by using a NUCLEO-F303RE (as the MCU) and the BOOSTXL-DRV8323RS (as the gate driver with MOSFETs on board). For doing that, I'm trying to use ST's MC Workbench to generate code for the NUCLEO.I have tried many different parameters on the Workbench, specially for the start-up parameters, however, after programming the NUCLEO with the generated code, I'm always getting a Undervoltage Fault when I click on "Start Motor" and the motor just gives me a quick small rotation. What happens is that the motor draws a huge current which is then limited by the power supply which lowers its voltage (to maintain the current lower than the limit). The current limit is at around 5-10A which should be enough. I have tried increase the limit, and although the motor rotated more than usual, it quickly started to smell like burning.Additionally, I'm using all the default values of the DRV8323RS registers.I have attached some parameters of my MC Wo

Due to engineering requirements, the code is divided into two parts: USB DFU, including encrypted signature verification, and the APP code with header signature file. Currently, there is an attempt to rewrite the flash in the USB DFU orange section from the APP code, but it has not been successful. The reason has not been identified yet. Are there any other directions to test, considering that writing Flash data at the end of the APP code is working fine? The MCU in use is STM32F401RET6.code as belowint pending_len = writing_len;//writing_len=374int wr_idx = 0;ret = HAL_FLASH_Unlock();if (ret != 0) {uart_printf("flash unlock failed\n");goto failed;}for (; wr_idx < writing_len - 4; wr_idx+=4) {uint32_t *src32 = &cached_data[wr_idx];ret = HAL_FLASH_Program(FLASH_TYPEPROGRAM_WORD, 0x800F7FF + wr_idx, *src32);if (ret != 0) {uart_printf("flash program 32 failed\n");goto failed;} pending_len -= 4;}if (pending_len > 0) {// writing by 8 bitsfor (; wr_idx < writing_len; wr

I have VREFBUF configured for output to comparator on my board. I see this on MCU Vref+ pin...Is 1.2MHz waveform typical? Are capacitors on Vref+ expected to smooth? I looked for avg closer to 2.5v (VREFBUF_VOLTAGE_SCALE0). How close to 2.5v should this be?VREFBUF_CSR = 0x09.
