Hi,I am trying to replicate this example by ST to understand DMA but I come up with below issue when I click on Add. Could you please help me resolve it ?

Hi all,I have a STM32F746 disco board and I'm trying to understand what the visual configurator (VC) does and doesn't do. I created an blank demo project for the board and I answer yes to the "initialize the board to default..." (or something like that).There is only one function created by the VC: MX_GPIO_Init(). I can see all the code inside it that initializes various pins. The I2C3 pins (SDA and SCL) are there too. The VC does *not* have the I2C3 enabled.Then, I enabled the I2C3 in the VC and saved. Now the code for the pins for the I2C3 is no longer inside MX_GPIO_Init(). In fact, is nowhere to be found ... by me... but the I2C3 works fine.Where is the code to initialize the pins for the I2C3 when I enable I2C3 in VC?BTW I'm calling the VC the window that opens up in STM32CubeIDE when you click on the ".ioc" file. Thanks.

Hi everyone,According to AN486, It's possible to connect a "RGB666 display panel" to a MCU with RGB888 LTDC peripheral. (Uploaded Picture).Now, Is it passible to connect a "RGB888 display panel" to a MCU which equipped by LTDC565 peripheral? How is connections?Regards

Hello,related to the post https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-touchgfx-and-gui/using-cpp-exceptions-in-touchgfx-application/m-p/267439 is C++ handle exception included in TouchGFX release ?I did not manage with the code here below, testing a string for a float with std::stof. (TouchGFX 4.21.4)Thanks

I have built a sine wave to square wave circuit and now want to measure its frequency with the STM. I can see on the oscilloscope that the circuit works, however I can detect neither a rising nor a falling edge with the chip. It is not a problem with the code as I can detect both when they are generated by the chip with PWM or externally with a generator (which is old and its square wave really isn't that square) but also they are much slower.The frequency of the wave is 1.24MHz, measured with the oscilloscope. I don't think that this is too fast, the timer runs at 96Mhz, but maybe using interrupts at this speed is too much?The minimum voltage of the wave is 0.6V. I am suspecting that might be too high to be considered a logical 0 but I can't find documentation.I would appreciate any input and also if you could point me to documentation that would be nice!

Hi @Imen.D ,Please help me with a way to enable clocks to RAM_D2 and RAM_D3 section via STM32CubeMX.I am assuming somehow by default the clocks to RAM_D1 is enabled in code,I do not find a call to RCC->AHB2ENR which is enabled (i.e., not commented out) in the code generated using STM32CubeMX.My team mates are asking me not to modify code (like enabling macro DATA_IN_D2_SRAM or adding assembly code in Reset_Handler section) and rather use some setting with the STM32CubeMX to enable the clocks to RAM_D1, RAM_D2 and RAM_D3 sections.Please share your inputs.Thanks!Rajeev

Hi,MCU- STM32H7I get a busfault exception when I read bank2 flash memory. I can read bank1 with no issues. From the flash register SR2, it shows as ECC double bit error. This is new pcb and I can flash the hexfile to bank1 successfully. Even a Jlink memory read showed read error (below SS):I erased the entire chip using "JFlashLite.exe" and after that it started working normally. Why is this so ? Are we supposed to erase the entire flash for every new MCUs ? Regards,Andy

I have a program that requires a 30 second wake up period to feed a watchdog but use as little power a possible. To initiate the LPTIM using an external 32.768kHz watch crystal I am doing this:__HAL_RCC_LPTIM1_CONFIG(RCC_LPTIM1CLKSOURCE_LSE); //LSE LPTIM1 __HAL_RCC_LPTIM1_CLK_ENABLE(); LPTIM1->CR &= ~LPTIM_CR_ENABLE; //Ensure Disabled LPTIM1->IER |= LPTIM_IER_ARRMIE; //Auto-reload match Interrupt NVIC_EnableIRQ(LPTIM1_IRQn); NVIC_SetPriority(LPTIM1_IRQn, 40); LPTIM1->CFGR |= (0b110 << LPTIM_CFGR_PRESC_Pos); // /64 prescaler, restart on trigger LPTIM1->CR |= LPTIM_CR_ENABLE;// | LPTIM_CR_RSTARE; LPTIM1->ARR = 15360; //Reload on cnt==15360 (30 seconds at 32,768/64) LPTIM1->CR |= LPTIM_CR_CNTSTRT; //Start LPTIM1 in continuous modeOnce this has been initiated I put the device into STOP2, after 30 seconds I was expecting thisvoid LPTIM1_IRQHandler( void ){ LPTIM1->ICR |= LPTIM_ICR_ARRMCF | LPTIM_ICR_CMPMCF; //Clear Status }interrupt handler to be cal

I am trying to tune a 28 pole 50V 20 Amp  motor 6 step  with hall sensors. Motor Pilot does not work for me. To get over this I am using STM32CubeMonitor to plot the speed response. I have also tried to change the values through Cube Monitor by writing to PID_SpeedHandle_M1.hdDefkpgain and even though the values change it has no effect on the performance. Changing values (#define PID_SPEED_KP_DEFAULT) in the drive_parameters.h file and recompiling does not work either. I am only able to change the Kp values by going back to workbench and  completely regenerating the project, which is a time-consuming operation. I would appreciate some advice - thanks.

Hii,I am selecting the STM32F746G Discovery Board in TouchGFX Designer. In the Designer I have taken a Tiled image widget and I am trying to move the image vertically up and down. Now I want the same image to be tilted with some angle in TouchGFX. Is that possible?If it is, then how it works?

I'm finalizing the design of a BLDC motor controller (up to 48V / 40A) and I'd like it to work well with HSO and (when available) ZeST.From other forum posts I've found the need for phase voltage measuring and to be able to capture these simultaneously. The board already on the face of it the current board config looks compatible:STM32G473 MCUIn-phase shunts (and an external 50x bi-directional OPAMP)ADC (rank) assignment:ADC1: VM / bus voltage; 2 extra (low speed) voltage inputs and several NTCsADC2: Phase A voltage & CurrentADC3: Phase B voltage & CurrentADC4: Phase C voltage & CurrentFiltering (low-pass cut-off frequencies):VM/bus voltage: 1.5kHz (fixed)Phase current & phase voltage: 12 or 150 kHz (all voltage filters switch together, all current filters switch together)Questions:Is the above ADC configuration compatible with ZeST and HSO? If not, what should be changed?What is the optimal low-pass cut-off frequency for the phase currents for HSO and ZeST?Likewise for

In How do I create a project for STM32H7 with Ethernet and LwIP stack working? by @Adam BERLINGER we have the following MPU configuration: Cortex-M7 configurationThis step can be skipped when using Cortex-M4 core.Enable ICache and DCache.Enable memory protection unit (MPU) in “Background Region Privileged access only + MPU Disabled ...” mode. Configure regions according to the picture below:    Can someone explain that in more details?Where does it say these regions should be protected from MPU?What is the rational of behind each of those MPU regions? Many thanks,Eduardo.

Hello Folks,[Re-posting this question since I believe I had it in the from Board. I would delete the original one if I could.]I use the H723ZG Nucleo board without FreeRTOS. I had configured Ethernet for the H723ZG in the past. But I am unable to configure it again now, even when following the same steps. When I first got it working, my configuration was based on this Youtube video STM32 ETHERNET #1. Hardware Configuration || PART 1. In addition, I spent countless days trying to configure the Ethernet without FreeRTOS based on this post How to create project for STM32H7 with Ethernet and LwIP stack working from @Adam BERLINGER . I was able to get it working WITH FreeRTOS, but not WITHOUT it. And I am here to kindly ask for your help. Here are some screenshots from my `.ioc` file.    I am testing it with the ping example.  /* USER CODE BEGIN 0 */ extern struct netif gnetif; /* USER CODE END 0 */ [...] /* Infinite loop */ /* USER CODE BEGIN

I am using a Nucleo-F429ZI with FreeRtos and LWIP. I am having an issue with LWIP when I start with a disconnected Ethernet Cable and then when I connect it back when the firmware is running.I have a thread with the following code. 1 - The gnetif structure is initialized by MX_LWIP_Init(). But the function check netif_is_up(&gnetif)returns that the link is up even though the cable is disconnected.2 - When I plug the cable back, the DHCP function does not acquire an IP Address. It seems stuck somewhere3 - When the cable is connected and then I disconnect it, the gnetif.ip_addr.addr stays with the initial DHCP address instead of resetting to 0. Any thoughts on what the issues might be ? MX_LWIP_Init();/* USER CODE BEGIN 5 */firstTime = 1; /* Infinite loop */for(;;){     while (timer_update == 0);    timer_update = 0;    if (netif_is_up(&gnetif)) {     printf("Main Link is Up\n");

Hi, i get this error, can someone please help me, thanks. I use Cube MX(STM32-cube-ide).I tried to follow the steps but it didn't work.

When I place an object near the sensor, it shows the reading between 40 - 50mm. How to perform the calibration of this sensor to accumulate accurate reading from the sensor. I have attached the code that I have uploaded.

Hi,I'm working on the STM32L476-Discovery board, Win10 host.I created a simple application, which works.Now I changed the start of the address to 0x08001000:MEMORY { FLASH (rx) : ORIGIN = 0x08001000, LENGTH = 1024K RAM (rwx) : ORIGIN = 0x20000000, LENGTH = 96K }I erase the board (validating 0x08000000 is 0xFF, 0xFF...).Now I flash my ELF:STM32_Programmer_CLI.exe -c port=SWD -d .\build\TestAppMin.elfLooking at address 0x08001000 - the application data is correct.But, looking at address 0x08000000 I don't have 0xFF anymore... I have the beginning of the ELF file - see image:

Whenever I set the SMPS Clock Mux to HSE /4 /2 = 4 I can save the project without errors but whenever I reopen the ioc file I get a warning that there is a clock issue that needs to be fixed.  I go into the clock configuration and it's bee reset to HSI /4 /2 = 2 and marked in red as an error.  If I click resolve clock issues it changes it to HSI /2 /2 = 4 but I want it to stay at HSEOther projects I've created for the NUCLEO-WB55 board from the example selector use HSE /4 /2 =4 so I'm wondering if there is a setting that's conflicting.  I just can't find it.

Hello! I am experimenting with a STM32F030F4P6. When I connect it to STM32CubeProgrammer via bootoader (UART), there is an info saying the micro has 32Kb of flash, instead of the expected 16Kb for this part.Is it possible that this microcontroller really have 32Kb of memory? Anyone had similar experiences? Thank you.

Thank you very much for your help.My name is Ichikatai, Designe Engineering Department, NIKKI CO.,LTD.Regarding the VNL5030JTR-E productI believe that high melting point solder (lead 85% or more) is used in the semiconductor chip part as an exemption from RoHS.If you have any alternative parts that are all lead-free in the event that high-melting solder is also required to be lead-free in accordance with RoHS II regulations, please contact us.Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Hi, I am currently actively debugging and working with the sensor and it shows correct measurement data when i set the profile to 'Long range' example (settings from the 'um2039' User manual).     however the sensor response for RangeDMaxMilliMeter: always show a value around 1200 which should be around 2000, is there another settings which i need to do before the profile is actively set to long range? Measurement data is now also correctly measured until about 1200mm but higher results in invalid measurements. below are my settings as they are performed in the code: MyDevice.I2cDevAddr = 0x52; MyDevice.comms_type = 1; // 1 should equal I2C MyDevice.comms_speed_khz = 100; MyDevice.hi2c = hi2c; VL53L0X_DEV = &MyDevice; if (VL53L0X_DataInit(VL53L0X_DEV) != VL53L0X_ERROR_NONE) { g_tof_state = tof_sensor_reset_sensor; return HAL_ERROR; } if (VL53L0X_StaticInit(VL53L0X_DEV) != VL53L0X_ERROR_NONE) { g_tof_state = tof_sensor_reset_sensor; return HAL_ERROR; } // Calibrat

Hello,I use resources and everything works there.Now I need to display text from code and I came across that the result of these commands is 23??? what is wrong with this code? What do I need to set where?    int intvalue_ = 23; std::string stringvalue_ = "Hello"; Unicode::snprintf(textAreaBuffer, TEXTAREA_SIZE, "%d %s", intvalue_, stringvalue_ ); textArea.setWildcard(textAreaBuffer);    textArea has Typography BigFont selected in the designerI have Wildcard Ranges in the Typography settings for BigFont0-9,a-z,A-Z It will definitely be something small.Can you advise? I found this sample, but even here the question mark appears  Unicode::UnicodeChar a[] = {0x00B0,0}; uint16_t degree = 28; Unicode::snprintf(textArea1Buffer, TEXTAREA1_SIZE, "%d %s", degree, a); textArea1.invalidate();

Hi Comunity, I am very new to STM and got some problems on serial UART. I can get data from my serial, but my problem is if the data received is less than the length of the array, the next data received doesn't overwrite the first data. How do I fix this problem? The first data is this. The second data after clearing the array is like this.  The data sent for the board to receive is just "1234567". What I want to achieve is if the data received is less than the array length, the second data I get after that don't continue like the picture above. The code used is shown below. char RxData[10]; /* USER CODE END 0 */ /** * @brief The application entry point. * @retval int */ int main(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN 1 */ /* USER CODE END 1 */ /* MCU Configuration--------------------------------------------------------*/ /* Reset of all peripherals, Initializes the Flash interface and the Systick. */ HAL_Init(); /* USER CODE BEGIN Init */ /* USE

Hey,It states on the product page for the STM32WL5MOC that it is certified. In the presentation for the part the FCC logo is under the "Certification" box. Does this mean that the module already has FCC certification? If so, is there a way to view the certificate?For reference here is the presentation: https://www.st.com/resource/en/product_presentation/microcontrollers-stm32wl5m-wireless-module-line.pdfThanks!

Hello,I am wondering how to set the DHCP hostname for LwIP when using STMCubeMX. The CubeMX tool creates a definition for the hostname in ethernetif.c: #if LWIP_NETIF_HOSTNAME /* Initialize interface hostname */ netif->hostname = "lwip";#endif /* LWIP_NETIF_HOSTNAME */However, this is "hard wired" in CubeMX. If I change it manually in ethernetif.c, CubeMX rewrites it to the default value "lwip" after each change in the IOC definition. There is no option in CubeMX for the DHCP hostname.I am using the latest FW, latest Cube tools (CubeIDE version 1.11.0, CubeMX version 6.7.0).BTW, I found the same question in the forum, four years old( but with no satisfactory answer.Thanks in advance for helpBest RegardsZdenek
