I have an STM32G4 board that is to function as a virtual COM port via USB.  This is my first attempt at implementing USB. Within CubeIDE, I enabled the USB feature and configured a middleware device for the virtual COM port. I’m not seeing the PC react in any way when I connect the board. I’m not sure where to begin to debug and I don't see any examples for the STM32G, so I'm also not sure if I've completed all the needed steps for it show up as a PC device. Can I observe connection progress with the PC via the USB registers? If I had an electrical failure on the USB connection, what diagnostics could I run in software from the PC?

Hi All,  I have a circuit that works very well and uses the BTA24-800CWRG device housed in a TO-220 through-hole part. I currently have it bolted to a large enough heatsink and a fan above it just for safety and to keep it cool. I am now updating the design and would like to miniaturize the circuit. I am looking at this ST part: T3035H-6G-TR. This is a surface mount version and I would prefer to use this instead of a large heatsink on the board. I use the TRIAC in a pulse-skipping circuit to control a 120V 10A heating element. I developed a circuit to sense the zero cross and fire the TRIAC based on temperature and feedback through PID control. The TRIAC turns on during a percentage of multiples of the AC sine wave and stays on until the sine wave reaches the zero cross where the TRIAC turns off. Hard to explain but I hope you get the idea. My question is, can I use a surface mount TRIAC for this particular application? Since it is essentially switching does the TRIAC ge

I have a program that displays the current temperature of a room on the UART terminal and I want to start getting into the habit of separating my functions into their own source and header files, however, I'm running into a couple of problems. Here is my main header file: #include "main.h" //Main header file #include <stdio.h> //Standard header filer #include <string.h> //String header filer #include "uart.h" #define SI7021_ADDRESS_READ (0x40 << 1) | 0x01 #define SI7021_ADDRESS_WRITE (0x40 << 1) #define SI7021_MEASURE_HUM_NOHOLD 0xF5 #define SI7021_MEASURE_TEMP_NOHOLD 0xF3 char msg[50]; I2C_HandleTypeDef hi2c1; UART_HandleTypeDef huart2; void SystemClock_Config(void); static void MX_GPIO_Init(void); static void MX_I2C1_Init(void); static void MX_USART2_UART_Init(void); static uint32_t si7021_measure_humidity(I2C_HandleTypeDef *hi2c) { uint8_t si7021_buf[4]; si7021_buf[0] = SI7021_MEASURE_HUM_NOHOLD; // Start measure int res = HAL_I

I put this folder in the workspace with all the other projects:Now I have to import it as I have always done: file - import - existing projects in the workspaceI cannot press on "finish"

I am trying to read data from an MPU6050 sensor using I2C with the STM32F413ZH board. However, I am encountering errors, likely because the levels of the SCL and SDA initialization and termination bits are incorrect. This causes the system to sometimes work correctly and other times result in errors. When the HAL_I2C_IsDeviceReady function returns an error value, I tried to deinitialize and reinitialize the I2C unit, but it did not work. Upon investigating the error, I found that it returns HAL_BUSY and enters the I2C_WaitOnFlagUntilTimeout function, where the I2C error code indicates a timeout issue. Specifically, in these sections:  if (hi2c->State == HAL_I2C_STATE_READY) { /* Wait until BUSY flag is reset */ if (I2C_WaitOnFlagUntilTimeout(hi2c, I2C_FLAG_BUSY, SET, I2C_TIMEOUT_BUSY_FLAG, tickstart) != HAL_OK) { return HAL_BUSY; }   while (__HAL_I2C_GET_FLAG(hi2c, Flag) == Status) { /* Check for the Timeout */ if (Timeout != HAL_MAX_DELAY) { if (

Problem : GPIO PB7,8 is pull up in reset state.Reproduction: After Clearing Reset  (Reset Goes low)  the voltage on PB7 and PB8 goes high. uc is erased. We have external pull down connected to those pins (100k), but the signal stays at 2.5V Could you confirm that pull-up in reset mode on those pins is correct behavior?  I suspected that GPIO should go to input mode and pull down pull up should be disabled.

Hi all.I'm working through the lab material for the STM32MP1 workshop and have run into a snag after following the "extra hands on" presentation "Lab-MP15_FromPartNumber_To_BasicDeviceTree_with_CubeMx.pdf". My high level goal is to get binaries (TF-A, FIP) to enable production eMMC programming via USB DFU.While we've got working eMMC images produced by buildroot (based on an earlier version of the ecosystem) we've discovered that the versions of the boot chain we're using don't support USB DFU (specifically TF-A).To remedy I've gone through the lab materials and Cube MX for ecosystem 5 along with modifications for our custom board and have the resulting input DTS files for building the boot chain binaries:├── kernel│   └── stm32mp153c-som-dfu-mx.dts├── optee-os│   └── stm32mp153c-som-dfu-mx.dts├── tf-a│   ├── stm32mp15-mx.dtsi│   ├── stm32mp153c-som-dfu-mx-fw-config.dts│   └── stm32mp153c-som-dfu-mx.dts└── u-boot    ├── stm32m

HiI am having trouble doing anything useful with the STM32WB5MMG discovery board using version 1.16.0 (Windows) of STM32CubeIDE. I started off with a new application based on the this above board and I don't see anything useful related to the devices that on the board such as the RGB LED, TOF sensor etc? If I created a template APP for this board, surely it should all be configured already?Other things don't seem to be correct either such as I2C3 which I believe is the main bus used for some of the external devices such as the accelerometer etc doesn't seem to be enabled when I run up the .ioc file and look at the configuration. Also here (in what was cubemx) I can see some other potential useful extra software components (which I guess have come from the SDK specific to this board) such as TOF and DISPLAY. The TOF component I can add but I'm not sure whether it is working because I haven't been able to verify any debug output. There is a virtual COM port on my PC but I don't see

It looped at a location deprived of access, waited a second, and returned to the same action. I thought STM32 was about programming.

Hello, I'm using the STM32F413ZH board to read data from the MPU6050. While the data retrieval works when I implement it in a blank project, it fails to function correctly in my current project. This project also includes two additional UART interrupts, though they are not currently connected to the system. What might be causing the issue? In this project, HAL_StatusTypeDef always returns HAL_BUSYThank You.  #include "main.h" #include "string.h" #define MAX_NMEA_PROTOCOL_CHARACTER_LENGTH_ 82 I2C_HandleTypeDef hi2c1; UART_HandleTypeDef huart4; UART_HandleTypeDef huart5; UART_HandleTypeDef huart3; PCD_HandleTypeDef hpcd_USB_OTG_FS; void SystemClock_Config(void); static void MX_GPIO_Init(void); static void MX_USART3_UART_Init(void); static void MX_USB_OTG_FS_PCD_Init(void); static void MX_UART4_Init(void); static void MX_UART5_Init(void); static void MX_I2C1_Init(void); HAL_StatusTypeDef hal_status_one; //THIS CODE FOR I2C uint8_t data_mpu[1] = {0x00}; //THIS CODE FOR I2C

Please could I have help identifying the component in the attached image to find a suitable replacement as it is shorted. Many thanks, Jazz.

Sorry, Google Translate changed my previous post to Polish. That's probably why no one answered me.Now the post is correct.   This code was generated by STM322CubeIde     UINT MX_USBX_Device_Init (VOID *memory_ptr) { UINT ret = UX_SUCCESS; UCHAR *pointer; TX_BYTE_POOL *byte_pool = ( TX_BYTE_POOL *)ptr_memory;   /* BEGIN USER CODE MX_USBX_Device_Init0 */   /* USER CODE END MX_USBX_Device_Init0 */   /* Allocate stack for main device application thread */ if (tx_byte_allocate(byte_pool, (VOID**) &pointer, UX_DEVICE_APP_THREAD_STACK_SIZE, TX_NO_WAIT) != TX_SUCCESS) { /* USER CODE BEGIN MAIN_THREAD_ALLOCATE_STACK_ERROR */ return TX_POOL_ERROR; /* USER CODE END MAIN_THREAD_ALLOCATE_STACK_ERROR */ }   /* Create the main device application thread */ if (tx_thread_create(&ux_device_app_thread, UX_DEVICE_APP_THREAD_NAME, app_ux_device_thread_entry, 0, pointer, UX_DEVICE_APP_THREAD_STACK_SIZE, UX_DEVICE_APP_THREAD_PRIO, UX_DEVICE_APP_THREAD_PREEMPTION_TH

I am using a STM32L431KCU6 microcontroller and reading data from I2C every 90ms. I would like to implement a sleep mode to achieve lower power consumption, I am using timer6 which generates an interrupt every1ms for system run time. I was thinking I can change the timer period to be 90ms prior to put the device on sleep and when TIM6 interrupt happens (wake up the processor) I can change the period to 1ms for normal operation.  is this possible? and how can I achieve this? I don't have any experience in using sleep mode but I have been reading similar questions and I've seen WFI coming up very frequently.  Is there any example codes available? or documentation which can assist in writing code?  Thanks in advance and appreciate any help. Kind RegardsManpreet Singh

Hello everyone,We have a custom board based on stm32mp157c. We have a working bsp, which have tf-a 2.2 and u-boot 2020 version. Currently we are updating tf-a to 2.6 and u-boot to 2022. In our board we have burned mac address in the otp and we can read the mac address from otp using the old tf-a and u-boot version.But currently we can not read otp from the using the current version. It is showing following message while retrieving mac-address from the otp.  invalid MAC address 0 in OTP 00:00:00:00:00:00 I have following device tree configuration in the optee. &bsec { status = "okay"; ethernet_mac_address@e4 { reg = <0xe4 0x8>; st,non-secure-otp; }; ethernet_mac1_address@ec { reg = <0xec 0x8>; st,non-secure-otp; }; ethernet_mac2_address@f4 { reg = <0xf4 0x8>; st,non-secure-otp; }; board_id@fc { reg = <0xfc 0x4>; st,non-secure-otp; }; user_otp@100 { reg = <0x100 0x80>; st,non-secure-otp; }; };  In u-

I updated the STM32CubeProgrammer from version V2.10 to version 2.17, but it doesn't work on my computer (Windows 7 ). I installed new version on Java, reinstalled program, it didn't help.

While looking at the stm32h745xihx-pinctrl.dtsi file I see the slew rate is defined for the QUADSPI pins, but the LTDC pins. Is it set to Very High speed implicitly? I would be concerned if they are set to Low Speed by default. Thanks in advance for any input.

Hi!I have an I-PMSM motor and interfaces an incremental encoder with A B ,without Z.Sometimes after doing encoder alignment，the motor runs reverse to the max speed, and it will never recover until i do encoder alignment again。I set the speed 30RPM,but when start ,the motor goes to -200+RPM.Most time the motor runs well but sometimes the problem will happen.（STM32 F303VCT6 ；PWM16000KHZ ；Main Sensor ：Incremental Encoder2048 no Z-index）I hope someone could help me figure out the problem.Best wishes.

Hy!I'm new to STM32. I'm currently using STM32F103C8T6 board, and it give MI command error (image attached). I have tried using STM32 programmer as well to fix it. Still couldn't. How can i fix this?

Hi,When using the .ioc to generate the code, it always shows:- SMPS must be enabled to reach the best consumption figure.   SMPS can be enabled from the Pinout tab under PWRHow to get rid of this? Or just omit it?

My workI have been experimenting with ethernet with tcp server, and i got some good referance to start the basic level of communication from the follwoing pages.https://controllerstech.com/stm32-ethernet-4-tcp-server/https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus/how-to-create-a-project-for-stm32h7-with-ethernet-and-lwip-stack/ta-p/49308What i have doneBased on this iam experimenting on server, on the controller iam able to do the communication with 9 server @100ms with 100bytes of data. For the server side when client sends some data server return 100 bytes of dataFor client side iam using winscok on visual studio, here iam initilizing same number of clients as in the server and transmitting data at 100ms (100 bytes)Observed packets through waveshark and there is no packet corruptionFrom the above referances some of the modification i have done is initilizing multiple instacnes at a time and pbuf and payload memory allocation at the time of connection accept, berfore it was done&nbs

Hi, We have been using the STM32WLE5CB for a while now, using the older die revision Z. Since we have a new batch with the new revision Y die of the STM32WLE5x we couldn't get our firmware working anymore. To try make it work we have tried to use the example LoRaWAN endnode and couldn't get it working on this revision. It seems to get stuck in initializing the RTC Alarm in the MX_NVIC_Init()HAL_NVIC_EnableIRQ(RTC_Alarm_IRQn); Where it finally crashes in the core_cm4.h /** \brief Get Interrupt Enable status \details Returns a device specific interrupt enable status from the NVIC interrupt controller. \param [in] IRQn Device specific interrupt number. \return 0 Interrupt is not enabled. \return 1 Interrupt is enabled. \note IRQn must not be negative. */ __STATIC_INLINE uint32_t __NVIC_GetEnableIRQ(IRQn_Type IRQn) { if ((int32_t)(IRQn) >= 0) { return((uint32_t)(((NVIC->ISER[(((uint32_t)IRQn) >> 5UL)] & (1UL << (((uint32_t)IRQn) &amp

I am trying to develop a product using the STM32WB5MMG.In the schematic of STM32WB5MMG, the pins PC5, PB10 and PB11 are connected to GND via 3.3pF (C7, C8, C9).Why are these pins connected to GND via 3.3pF (C7, C8, C9)?Does this mean that PC5, PB10 and PB11 cannot be used as IO pins?I want to assign PC5, PB10, and PB11 to remote control keys.

Hey buddies, I am working on STM2F103C8T6  microcontroller.  I am using LSI Clock of 40 MHz & using external clock of 36 MHz. I am trying to read the clock after power OFF & ON Low by using the following code(below) . Even though the 3.3v is detected on the VBAT pin, the clock in not getting updated during the power OFF. It is again reading from the previous stored value in the backup register. Pleas help me to resolve this issue.  / USER CODE BEGIN Header / /** ****************************************************************************** * @file : main.c * @brief : Main program body ****************************************************************************** * @attention * * Copyright (c) 2024 STMicroelectronics. * All rights reserved. * * This software is licensed under terms that can be found in the LICENSE file * in the root directory of this software component. * If no LICENSE file comes with this software, it is provided AS-IS. * *******************
