Solved

I recently changed the configuration of working product from HAL API to LL API to improve performances.Unfortunately, the LL initialisation code generated by the STM32CubeIDE for the ADC was incomplete, and forgets to set the PCSEL register when needed, resulting in the ADC converter just generating random numbers.By comparing the registers with the 2 initialisation methods, I found the solution by adding LL_ADC_SetChannelPreselection() when needed.Below is the code generated by the IDE, and with the 2 missing calls added (after the BUG:  comment)Note: the LL_ADC_SetChannelPreselection() calls should NOT be added when using analog only pads, like PA0_C, PA1_C, PC2_C, PC3_C. However, for general I/O pads, if LL_ADC_SetChannelPreselection() is missing, then the ADC just convert noise. /** Configure Regular Channel */ LL_ADC_REG_SetSequencerRanks(ADC2, LL_ADC_REG_RANK_1, LL_ADC_CHANNEL_12); LL_ADC_SetChannelSamplingTime(ADC2, LL_ADC_CHANNEL_

Hi ST Community Is it possible to use the ADC polling/DMA/IT in STOP2 mode. The application is to develop a low power platform for ADC sampling and go back to sleep. After a certain period send this data over BLE.

  Hello, I am currently working with the NUCLEO GNSS2A1 extension on the NUCLEO-L010RB demonstration board, and I am trying to retrieve data from the gyroscope and accelerometer. According to the TESEO VIC3DA module documentation, there are two modes of dead reckoning: DRAW Mode: Designed for automotive applications, it requires a speed signal. DRUM Mode: Suitable for industrial applications, which corresponds to my use case. Based on my research, the gyroscope and accelerometer data should be transmitted via the following messages: $PSTMDRSENMSG,30 and $PSTMDRSENMSG,31. However, I never receive these messages. When I send them, I only receive back the same thing that I sent. My current configuration: I have enabled the messages dedicated to dead reckoning with the following commands:     $PSTMCFGMSGL,0,1,0,FFFFFFFF$PSTMCFGMSGL,1,1,0,FFFFFFFF$PSTMCFGMSGL,2,1,0,FFFFFFFF I have disabled DRAW mode:     $PSTMSETPAR,1667,FFFFFFFF,2 Here is the IMU configuratio

My program collects data using DMA in circular buffer. I have following procedure to "start" collecting data. // "reenable" measurment (enable results readout) void restart_measurment(void){ run=1; // DMA channel reset CLEAR_BIT(TIM1->DIER, TIM_DIER_CC3DE | TIM_DIER_CC2DE); // disable DMA request in TIM1 LL_DMA_DisableStream(DMA2, LL_DMA_STREAM_6); // disable both streams LL_DMA_DisableStream(DMA2, LL_DMA_STREAM_2); while(LL_DMA_IsEnabledStream(DMA2, LL_DMA_STREAM_6)); // wait until disabled while(LL_DMA_IsEnabledStream(DMA2, LL_DMA_STREAM_2)); clear_snapshots(); // clear data buffers LL_DMA_ClearFlag_HT6(DMA2); // clear flags LL_DMA_ClearFlag_TC6(DMA2); LL_DMA_ClearFlag_HT2(DMA2); LL_DMA_ClearFlag_TC2(DMA2); LL_DMA_EnableStream(DMA2, LL_DMA_STREAM_6); // enable DMA streams LL_DMA_EnableStream(DMA2, LL_DMA_STREAM_2); reset_flipflops(); // manage external HW TIM1->DIER |= TIM_DIER_CC3DE | TIM_DIER_CC2DE; // enable DMA request from TIM }   Rarely program freezes

Hi ST,I have some doubts related to writing to M24M02E-F EEPROM.DS14157 (Rev 1 - December 2023) in section "6.1.2 Page write" states:1. "The page write mode allows up to 256 bytes to be written in a single write cycle"How is this achievable since the first two bytes are used for memory address and typically no more than 255 bytes total can be send over I2C in a single cycle? If I am correct, actually only 253 memory bytes can be written in one cycle. Please confirm/clarify.2. "After each transferred byte, the internal page address counter is incremented."How is this relevant? How the internal page address counter can be used during write operation? Does it potentially affect read operations only?3. It is completely unclear to me what section "6.2.6 Minimizing write delays by polling on ACK" tries to explain.Is it some way to continue write operation without resending memory address? Unfortunately, it seems that it is possible only when reading data.

Hello,I am new to STM32 and need help with UART, please. I have been trying to transfer data with my STM32F407 Discovery Board to the console for a few days. I am using the STM32CUBE IDE, which has a special Command Shell Console to read data from serial ports. Unfortunately, the Command Shell Console remains empty when running the code. I also used 'screen' as an alternative, as I am working under macOS, but this console also stays empty. I have paid attention to the baud rates (115200) and have also tried various clock frequencies. What could be other sources of error that cause no output? I have also posted the code to demonstrate my simple project.I am very happy about any help and suggestions!  /* USER CODE BEGIN Header */ /** ****************************************************************************** * @file : main.c * @brief : Main program body ****************************************************************************** * @attention * * Copyright (c) 2024 S

I am looking at the STM32G431K6T6 and on the web page:STM32G431K6 - Mainstream Arm Cortex-M4 MCU 170 MHz with 32 Kbytes of Flash memory, Math Accelerator, Medium Analog level integration - STMicroelectronicsIt has which package to download: STM32CubeG4 - STM32Cube MCU Package for STM32G4 series (HAL, Low-Layer APIs and CMSIS, USB, File system, RTOS, Graphic - and examples running on ST boards) - STMicroelectronics I'm planning on using the STM32Cube IDE. Can you please help me find the instructions on how to install this package? Thank you very much,Joe

I compiled the linux kernel with STM32CubeIDE and notice that the linux kernel vmlinux is about 242 Mb.Why so large?Or do I looking at the wrong folder? I'm standing inside the build folder.

Hi there!i start to work at one project with STM32G031J. Soo my i have this problem one of the pin is use for reset when i download the program at the same time is configurate a single wire half duplex , and - i can't simulate- and it's look like every time i send out data they reset the CPUSome one can help meThank youSergio

Is it possible to programm STM32U083C-DK as USB Device MSC? I can't see any examples of USB MSC in repository.

Hi,I have following settings: IDE : VS Code (NRF connect plug-in) Programmer : Stm32Cube programmer (West tools used from zephyr sdk to flash and build) Stlink Debugger  OS: Zephyr  MCU: Stm32u5 series (Stm32u575) Imagetool used for the signing of the image that is part of the zephyr sdk. I'm trying to upgrade application firmware using MCUboot ( Zephyr's) bootloader and AWS FOTA .I can upgrade application firmware however, as soon as I change the size of the image slots the MCUBOOT bootloader on stm32 chips mcuboot does not upgrade the image after the download is complete and complainsE: Image in the secondary slot is not valid!.          (image attached)Then the mcuboot fallback to the primary slot image after reset.On reverting back the size of the slots it works again every time.I have put some debug messages in mcuboot which shows the hash mismatch issue (image attached for code snippet with debug message from M

 I'm using STM32H747i-DISCO board. In Stm32Cube_FW_H7_V1.11.2 STM32H747I-DISCO example project -- stm32h747i_discovery_sdram.c, cas is 3. SDRAM worked fine with this setting. It didn't work when I changed cas to 2. Datasheet of Is42s32800G-6BLI shows cas is 2 at 100MHz clock.In How to set up the FMC peripheral to interface with the SDRAM...CAS is also set to 2 for FMC clock 100MHz.  Why cas need to be 3 in Stm32Cube_FW_H7_V1.11.2 STM32H747I-DISCO example project?

Hello. I have a STM32H747XI project. This MCU has both CM4 and CM7 cores. I can reset both of them, when I use NVIC_SystemReset() function. How can I reset only CM7 core from CM4 core?

The data sheet on page one shows 0 to 3.6V input range but rm0440 says the ADC input range is -Vref to +Vref.where I believe the Vref is 3.6V? Can you explain the difference in specifications? Also, can you explain how this range changes with being single ended vs differential? Also, there is a gain compensation register for the ADC that can go from 0 to 3.999756x. Does this voltage range assume a compensation value of 1x? If I use different gain compensation values, how does that affect the input range specification? I have an input that is about half of 3.6V. Can I use gain compensation to reach close to fullscale? I need to multiplex between 4 different inputs.If I use oversampling will the ENOB improve? At normal sampling 12 bits has a little over 10 ENOB. With oversampling how much increase in ENOB can I expect. I realize this is dependent on how much oversampling is done. I just want to know if there are some static errors that will limit this.

I want to generate an interrupt on the rising edge of PI0 on the M4 CPU.Unfortunately, when I program the GPIO With ARM Cortex-M4 pin context assignment, the code generated is as follows in gpio.c: EXTI_InitStruct.Line_0_31 = LL_EXTI_LINE_0; EXTI_InitStruct.Line_32_63 = LL_EXTI_LINE_NONE; EXTI_InitStruct.Line_64_95 = LL_EXTI_LINE_NONE; EXTI_InitStruct.LineCommand = ENABLE; EXTI_InitStruct.Mode = LL_EXTI_MODE_IT; EXTI_InitStruct.Trigger = LL_EXTI_TRIGGER_RISING; LL_EXTI_Init(&EXTI_InitStruct);and in stm32h7xx_it.c:void EXTI0_IRQHandler(void) { ... if (LL_EXTI_IsActiveFlag_0_31(LL_EXTI_LINE_0) != RESET) { LL_EXTI_ClearFlag_0_31(LL_EXTI_LINE_0); ...But this is incorrect because while both init + IRQ executes on the M4, it programs the M7 interrupts delivery.The correct way to make it work is to replace the following is the code above:LL_EXTI_MODE_IT => LL_EXTI_MODE_C2_ITLL_EXTI_IsActiveFlag_0_31() => LL_C2_EXTI_IsActiveFlag_0_31LL_EXTI_ClearFlag_0_31 =>&n

Hello,I'm currently learning how to use an STM32H7B3I-EVAL, I'm just starting out. I'm trying to debug a simple TouchGFX project with only a slider with STM32CubeIDE.The problem is that when debugging I get a warning:Warning: the current language does not match this frame. set *(int *)0xE000EDFC=*(int *)0xE000EDFC|0x7F0I use : TouchGFX 4.20           CubeIDE 1.9Does anyone have an explication please?

I am using the STM32F207ZG MCU, and I started a new project in STM32CubeIDE. I wrote the following code, which changes the state of TIM2 PWM output CH1:  /* USER CODE BEGIN 2 */ HAL_TIM_PWM_Start(&htim2, TIM_CHANNEL_1); HAL_TIM_PWM_Start(&htim3, TIM_CHANNEL_1); TIM2->ARR = 48000; TIM2->CCR1 = 16000; HAL_Delay(3000); TIM2->CCR1 = 3200; HAL_Delay(3000); TIM2->ARR = 8000; /* USER CODE END 2 */  I expected the last line (TIM2->ARR = 8000) affect the period of the PWM output but not change the pulse width. However, after the last line executes, the PWM output goes to zero on my oscilloscope. Is this expected behavior?If I use TIM3, the behavior is as I would expect. Below are some screenshots of my configuration in the .ioc file:

I have found an issue with code generation from .ioc file. Using STM32H7S78 DK when choosing pins for FDCAN2 (I chose pb5 and pb6), after code generation it doesnt set pb 6 as an RX. Even if you manualy add it in the code it will remove it after code generation.

I'm trying to use circular DMA with a SPI bus peripheral, where the DMA transfer complete interrupt causes something to happen after each block of data is DMA'd to the SPI bus. If my DMA transfer size is greater than 5, everything works well according to my oscilloscope. If the transfer size is 5, the number of transfers between transfer complete interrupts bounces around  in an unstable fashion. If I set the transfer size to less than 5, there are always 6 SPI bus transfers per transfer complete interrupt. I'm using all HAL functions to do this, and when I stop in the debugger and inspect special function registers, everything looks good. Any idea what might be causing this or how to fix it? I need this to work with a circular buffer of only 3 bytes.int main(void) { HAL_Init(); SystemClock_Config(); MX_GPIO_Init(); MX_DMA_Init(); MX_SPI1_Init(); MX_USART1_UART_Init(); uint32_t timer1 = HAL_GetTick(); EnableIoPinChannel(IOPORTA, 7); SetIoPinChannelWaveform(IOPORTA, 7, 0
