I work on a pedometer project, which uses built-in accelerometer and an LCD screen (ILI9341). The screen code works fine, but I struggle to get the pedometer part to work. I suspect there might something wrong with how I initialized the accelerometer, since it outputs weird values.I use an stm32f407g-disc1 board with built-in accelerometer, which I communicate with via SPI. I find the values it returns very weird, since I don't move the device at the moment. Shouldn't they be close to zero since there is no acceleration? Moreover, they don't change when I shake the device slightly, although it may be because the acceleration is not big enough to be detected. Another problem is that mag value changes all the time, although x,y,z don't change.Valuesmain functionint main(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN 1 */ /* USER CODE END 1 */ /* MCU Configuration--------------------------------------------------------*/ /* Reset of all peripherals, Initializes the Flash interface and the Systick. *

Split from this thread as the questions become more generic on embedded systems not related to the STM32. Hello Team, We are currently evaluating STM32H563ZI for a production system and would like your guidance on recommended CPU and RAM margin before moving to large-scale deployment. Based on our current firmware build analysis (STM32CubeIDE Build Analyzer): RAM: Total: 640 KB Used: ~182 KB (≈28.5%) Free: ~458 KB Flash: Total: 1 MB Used: ~282 KB (≈27.6%) Free: ~742 KB From a static memory usage perspective, sufficient margin is available. However, our application is load-dependent, and real CPU utilization varies based on field conditions and communication traffic. We would like clarification and guidance on the following points: What CPU utilization margin (%) is recommended for STM32H5 series devices in production systems (for example, acceptable average and peak CPU load)? What RAM headroom (free heap and stack margin) is considered safe for long-term and

Hi,I am trying to use USART6 on STM32MP257F-DK development board. I have enabled it in the device tree, recompiled it and I now can see the /dev/ttySTM1 node. The problem is, that sometimes, after reboot, any access to the USART (even changing its baudrate using stty -F /dev/ttySTM1 command) causes SERC exception (with ID 36 which corresponds to USART6) to happen. This does not happen all the time, but most of the time. Once and it doesn't happen after boot it won't happen again until next reboot and the UART works just fine.here my device tree change:&usart6 {pinctrl-names = "default", "idle", "sleep";pinctrl-0 = <&usart6_pins_a>;pinctrl-1 = <&usart6_idle_pins_a>;pinctrl-2 = <&usart6_sleep_pins_a>;/delete-property/dmas;/delete-property/dma-names;status = "okay";}; it seemed first that disabling the DMA helps, but I am not so sure nowusart6_pins_a: usart6-0 {pins1 {pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('F', 13, AF3)>; /* USART6_TX */bias-disable;drive-push-

Hi ST Engineers: Is the audio amplifier demo board STEVAL-CCA044V1 still active for ordering, or is the board STEVAL-CCA044V1 obsolete?   Best Regards Simon Peng

hello, now I am using stm32f030cct6 to design a simple program. i used all the 6 uarts of this chip. it works fine, but the interrupt code generated by STM32CubeMX has a simple bug. the code as below.for the uart6, there is a useless （&huart6);  i think it is no effect to the function, but when building, there is a warning.stm32f0xx_it.c:172:33: warning: statement with no effect [-Wunused-value][build]   172 |   HAL_UART_IRQHandler(&huart6);(&huart6);[build]       |                                ~^~~~~~~~ I dont like the warning. so i think you can simplly fix this bug. thanks.

I want to make a pedometer app that would count steps and display the number of steps on an LCD screen. I have tested my functions for the screen (ILI9341 SPI), and they work successfully. I tested the LCD code by initializing a timer that incremented the value to display every second and sets the flag update_lcd_flag.But when I add the pedometer code, which uses SPI1, the value on the screen never gets updated past zero. Is it because I launch a DMA interrupt from the timer interrupt, or do I need to look for problems somehwere else, e.g. in my pedometer logic or SPI1 configuration? The pedometer relies on the accelometer, which is built into STM32F4O7G-DISC1, which is my board, by defaultP.S. The LCD functions don't use interrupts or DMA, they only use polling. The timer callbackvoid HAL_TIM_PeriodElapsedCallback(TIM_HandleTypeDef* htim) { if (htim->Instance == TIM2) { if (draw_ready == 1) { HAL_GPIO_WritePin(ACC_GPIO_PORT, ACC_GPIO_PIN, GPIO_PIN_RESET); HAL_SPI_T

I'm currently using Touchgfx after updating from version 4.25 to 4.26.When I build and run the code generated by Touchgfx 4.26, Display color doesn't match the design in Touchgfx 4.26.But When I do the same thing through Touchgfx 4.25, Display color matched very well.

I am migrating from STM32L431 to STM32L471. After migration, the function relating to internal flash writing does not work any more. The problem is when I programmed internal flash with HAL_FLASH_Program(FLASH_TYPEPROGRAM_DOUBLEWORD, address, data), following errors occurred, including FLASH_SR_PROGERR, FLASH_FLAG_PGAERR, and FLASH_FLAG_PGSERR.I searched on the web, and found problem may relate to timer initialization and watchdog usage. I added HAL_TIM_Base_DeInit before HAL_TIM_Base_Init, and watchdog is disabled completely in the system including wathdog initialization and update.. But the problem is still there.By the way, the development environment is MDK5.36, ARM::CMSIS IS 5.8.0 (5.6.0 is also tested), ARM::CMSIS-Driver is 2.6.1, Keil::STM32L4xx_DFP is 2.6.1.So, what the problem it might be, and how can I solve this problem? Thanks

I have a STM32MP257 custom board and I'm listening on UART6.When I boot, I get nothing. No messages or other text. I have not yet implemented any Linux onto my SD-card.The issue is that I have my USART6 boot pins on PF13 and PF14, instead of PF4 and PF5. Are there any way to change this in ROM?Or do I need to load TF-A from my SD-card so TF-A can change USART6 pins?

Hello, I am planning out a project that uses new BLE 5.4 feature periodic advertising with response and I wanted to use STM32WBA as a broadcaster and STM32WB0s as observers. There seems to be a great software support for this on WB0 but when it comes to WBA I can't find much documentation or any examples even on periodic advertising. Do you plan to add this in the future? Or is STM3WBA more focused on audio and will not get these features? Thank you

Hello,I am using an ST7701S LCD over 3-wire SPI (CS, SCK, SDA) with my STM32.When I send the initialization commands from my ESP, I noticed the following:The first command of the sequence is not sent. The program seems to stop at the second stage, around the 100th command.SPI is configured in master mode, polling (no DMA, no interrupts).Example of the write function:void ST7701_Write(uint8_t dc, uint8_t data) { uint16_t value = ((dc & 0x01) << 8) | data; HAL_GPIO_WritePin(LCD_CS_GPIO_Port, LCD_CS_Pin, GPIO_PIN_RESET); HAL_SPI_Transmit(&hspi2, (uint8_t *)&value, 1, HAL_MAX_DELAY); HAL_GPIO_WritePin(LCD_CS_GPIO_Port, LCD_CS_Pin, GPIO_PIN_SET); }Questions:Could the first command being skipped be due to HAL/SPI initialization or state? What is the recommended method to ensure all commands are reliably sent over 3-wire SPI to ST7701S?Thank you for your help.

Hi STM Devs!I would like to introduce a thread scheduling library - SuperTinyKernel (STK).Its GitHub repo: https://github.com/dmitrykos/stkYou can check capabilities in detail on GitHub but briefly STK can:Soft and hard real-time support: STK supports cooperative scheduling for “soft real-time” tasks, you can also enable hard real-time mode (KERNEL_HRT) for periodic tasks with guaranteed deadlines.Static and dynamic tasks: Define all tasks at startup (KERNEL_STATIC) or allow tasks to be created and destroyed at runtime (KERNEL_DYNAMIC).Low-power friendliness: STK puts MCU into a low-power mode when there are no runnable tasks (task calls Sleep).Tiny footprint: Minimal C++ abstractions (no STL, no heavy namespaces) keep the kernel small and simple.Portability: Supports ARM Cortex-M and RISC-V RV32 MCUs.Multi-core support: Fully implemented for Cortex-M and RISC-V.x86 development mode: Compile & debug your code on a PC before flashing to the MCU, which helps with early

the best I achieve so far using DWT as well as PMU is 'few cycles' accuracy. My question is, how I measure execution time such that I get 1 cycle difference when I insert a nop in the measured code ? Hi everyone,I am encountering an issue with the "Access to MCU Selector" feature. The Problem: After installing X-CUBE-AI packages version 10.2 (or any version later than 10.0), the MCU Selector fails to open. It gets stuck in an infinite loading loop. Additionally, the "Output" view remains empty, showing no error logs.Troubleshooting: I found that if I uninstall the versions newer than 10.0 and revert to X-CUBE-AI version 9.0.0, the MCU Selector works perfectly fine.Has anyone faced this issue? Is there a known workaround or solution to use the 10.2 version without breaking the MCU Selector? Thanks in advance.

I have a custom PCB with an STM32H563VGT6 microcontroller and an external Winbond W25Q16JVUXIQ NOR flash memory connected to the octoSPI's (XSPI) upper four pins. The problem is I can only write data to the flash memory after an erase, if I reset my board between the two operation. Everything the erasing, writing, indirect reading, memory mapped reading work on their own, but not after erase without reset. I read out all 3 status registers, they are the same before and after the chip erase. (Of course I set the write enable bit before trying to write into the memory) Any idea what could be the problem?

I want to design a baord with stm32h7b0zbt6 with extranal sdram chip W9825G6KH-6. I get PG15 with FMC_SDNCAS alt func in datasheet as below:But when I looked the PG15 alt func config I get as below info, I could not found an alternate function number for FMC_SDNCAS here ?? why they are not consistent ?

NUCLEO-F411REI have ADC1 to DMA in a circular buffer 4 samples long (ADC_VAL). I then use a TIM1 interrupt to send the contents via UART to a PC. int16_t ADC_VAL[4]; ... HAL_ADC_STart_DMA(&hadc1, (uint32_t *)ADC_VAL, 4); /* TIM1 callback */ void HAL_TIM_periodElapsedCallback(TIM_HandleTypeDef *htim) { HAL_UART_Transmit(&huart2, (uint8_t *)ADC_VAL, 16, 10); }   Should I have declared ADC_VAL as a uint32_t ?

Does the STM32N6570-DK board support XSPI/OSPI interfaces for communication with external peripherals, or are these interfaces limited only to internal or external memory devices? For example, if there is a Device that supports OSPI/XSPI for communication, is it possible to connect the STM32N6570-DK board to such a device to enable data exchange?Could you please provide a clear explanation of the capabilities and practical use cases of the OSPI/XSPI interface on the STM32N6570-DK board?

I am trying to get the CAN Loopback up and running on my STM32L431KCU (CAN1), I have tried to follow the: Guide to CAN (bxCAN/CAN2.0) configuration in Loop back mode on STM32 MCUs. But I am getting stuck in the "HAL_CAN_Start()" function where its waiting for the acknowledgement:  /* Wait the acknowledge */ while ((hcan->Instance->MSR & CAN_MSR_INAK) != 0U) { /* Check for the Timeout */ if ((HAL_GetTick() - tickstart) > CAN_TIMEOUT_VALUE) { /* Update error code */ hcan->ErrorCode |= HAL_CAN_ERROR_TIMEOUT; /* Change CAN state */ hcan->State = HAL_CAN_STATE_ERROR; return HAL_ERROR; } } I then created a new project following the CAN loopback project listed here to get a working project and around my issue: Solved: CAN bus doesn't work in loopback mode - STMicroelectronics Community Using the same MX CAN config, APB1 of 80MHz, example program, and I still run into being stuck in the "HAL_CAN_Start()". I am using STM32CubeIDE 2.0

Hello all,We are testing LPUART wake-up from Stop 2 mode using the STM32CubeU0 LL example:STM32Cube_FW_U0_V1.2.0/Projects/NUCLEOU083RC/Examples_LL/LPUART/LPUART_WakeUpFromStop2_InitWe made a minimal modification to the example:Replaced LPUART1 with LPUART2 Used the corresponding GPIO pins for LPUART2 (PB10,PB11)Configuration otherwise unchanged (same clock source, wake-up on RX, interrupt-based RX)Observed behavior on NUCLEO-U083RCAfter programming the board using STM32CubeProgrammer in hardware reset mode, the example works correctly:MCU enters Stop 2RX activity on LPUART2 wakes the system as expectedHowever, after disconnecting and reconnecting the power supply LPUART2 no longer wakes the MCU from Stop 2RX data arrives on the pin, but no wake-up occursIf we again connect and disconnect the programmer (in hardware reset mode) the system starts working normally again, wake-up from Stop 2 via LPUART2 is restoredAdditional observationsUsing LPUART1 instead of LPUART2,

I am trying to build the basic LED Blink on the STM32-N6570-DK , since i have build the code and try to run with the default settings it ends up with the following problem , whats the reason and how to solve this ?

Hello Everyone,I am currently using LPUART2 for communication between an MCU (STM32U031) and an MPU (Application Processor).Configuration parameters:Baud rate: 9600Stop bits: 1Parity: NoneData bits: 8Description:Data exchange between MCU and MPU works perfectly when both devices are operating in normal power mode (i.e., not in sleep or stop modes). However, I am facing an issue when both MCU and MPU wake up from sleep/stop mode. After wake-up ,The MCU is unable to receive data from the MPU, even though the MPU continues transmitting data. No IRQ handler is triggered on the MCU side.Additional Details:I deinitialize the LPUART before entering sleep/stop mode.I reinitialize it immediately after wake-up.Scenarios Tested:Only MPU enters sleep (MCU remains active): After MPU wake-up, communication works perfectly. Both MPU and MCU enter sleep: After wake-up, communication fails (MCU doesn’t receive data).Observation:It seems that the issue is related to LPUART behavior du
