What is this value that is written to the USART_BRR register? What is it for?I don’t understand why the calculation is done using the formula: fclock / (the divisor, in my formula it is 5 * baudrate)For example, here is an example calculation:I made the numbers much smaller to simplify the example.fclock / (divisor, in my formula it is 5*baudrate)fclock ==Clock frequency==30 Hertz.Desired baudrate==2Divisor == 530 fclock / 2 baud * 5 divisor==3 this number is written to the USART_BRR register.3 what is this number? What is it for?BRR== Baud Rate Register. But 3 is not the baudrate I needed. I have 2 desired baudrate.Or does it not matter what my desired data rate is?Why would I then enter the desired baud rate if that's the case?Does this formula calculate the speed that will be applied, and not the speed that I need?-----------------------------------Maybe this will be useful: Shown in the pictureIf a marker is set every 3 bits at a clock frequency of 30 Hertz, based on these markers, w

Hi,I'm trying to find the .hex demonstration file for the STM32F429 Discovery Kit. I searched the STM32F429 Discovery page which directed me to the STM32CubeF4 MCU package examples. I have looked in the STM32CubeF4 MCU package in directory /Projects/STM32F429I-Discovery/Demonstrations/STemWin/Binary but readme.txt file then re-directs me back to the STM32F429 Discovery page where I started. Any assistance would be very much appreciated.

In the datasheet of the IIS343DQ it says that you should use a 10uF aluminum decoupling capacitor (chapter 'Application hints'). In the evalboard it is also shown like this in the schematic but if you look in the BOM you find a ceramic capacitor. So is the aluminium capacitor really necessary (stability reasons?) or could it be safely replaced by a ceramic one? Thank you for your help!

I'm using the STM32H757i Eval board. In STMCube repository for H7 v1.10.0, there is not a project folder for the STM32H757i eval board. I'd like to use the BSP LED/Touch drivers from the STM32H747i-EVAL project found in the cubeMX repository and potentially any others in the future. From what I could understand from UM2525, the eval boards are the same except for the actual micro-controllers.Can I start a project with the STM32H757 project and link to the folder with the STM32H747 eval files? Or, can I start a project in CubeMX for the STM32H747 and upload it to the STM32H757 allowing me to use any driver code written for the STM32H747i eval board.

Hi, I am looking all through the wiki, but I do not see any clue on using the tampers as a wakeup source. How can I configure the tampers to wake up the stm32mp1 from low power modes? Is it posible to wake up from VBAT? Or is VBAT only a energy mode to maintain the data in the memories? Can I run a piece of code in VBAT mode? If so, how could I do it? What restrictions do apply? When I say a piece of code, I mean it can be baremetal or linux or whatever it can run.Best regards,Andrés

I am trying to create a busy circle (such as the one that shows up when a web page is loading). Instead of circle I would like to use a custom image. I used TextureMapper for this. But I don't get continuous and smooth rotation of image. Image makes one rotation, slows down and stops and then restarts. I am attaching the sample project I was using. Also, image appearance distorts as it makes the rotation. Please advice. Also, please advice if there is a different way to do this.

I have STM32CubeIDE 1.9.0 and I am editing the .ioc. In the Pinout & Configuration Tab I right click and select List Pinout Compatible MCUsIt starts runningand running and running. Last night I let it run all night and it said it was 8% and there was a red message Running Low Memory. I rebooted the computer and reran it. After 4 hours it is at 50% and I got the Running Low Memory and it appears to have stopped. See attached screen shot. Error1.pngMy computer has 32 GB RAM and nothing else was running. The Task manager says 1,559.6 MB of memory is being used. I put the process priority from normal to above normal, and that did not make a difference. It says I am using a total of 7.2 of 31.8 GB (23%) of memory. I want to change the processor in my code from a STM32G031K6T to a STM32G051K8T and I was careful to use only three timers that were in both chips. Everything else was compatible. UM1718 Chapter 15 told me how to do it. I have to keep it in the same directory for git.

Is it possible to use OTP WORD 24 to 31 without enable security boot with STM32MP1 part numbers which didn't has security boot option like STM32MP157A/D?Same as above but with STM32MP1 part numbers which has security boot option like STM32MP157C/F?

Using something like STLink util or newer, command line software: Can one identify which type of STM32 MCU is connected? E.g. for use in further scripts. It doesn't help if I see it on a GUI somewhere.

Hi,Am I allowed to call the USBPD_PE_Request_CtrlMessage(), USBPD_PE_Request_HardReset(), USBPD_CAD_PortEnable() and others from different threads?I want to request data role swap, power role swap and hard resets from my interface thread. Thanks!BR, Christoph

I just updated CubeIDE to the newest (1.9 ?) version.Because under Pinout & Configuration, Pinout menu -> List pin compatible MCUs (or similar),it was stuck at 31% with a CubeIDE version from some months ago with then no CPU load anymore on CubeIDE while it was 99% before I call it "stuck".The output one could already see, with the old verison, seemed reasonable, though. Now with the newest version, I am at 50% progress bar for half an hour or so, still high CPU load (but oscillating around 50%, not 99), it shows already around 80'000 devices and most of them with clearly a useless package.Yes, I did search for "Packages: all" - because I want to get not only exactly the same package, but also different formats with the same number & functions of pins, or perhaps even some with more pins. But this "at 50% and seemingly not getting forward" view shows a lot of 20-pin MCUs for my project with a 48-pin MCU where every single usable pin is assigned a function. The "Comment" on thos

Hello together, I'm working with the CubeMX for the first time and unfortunately I haven't found a reason why in the category "Project Manager" the dropdown menu "Toolchain/IDE" some choices are grayed out and can't be selected. I would like to use the option "Other Toolchains (GPDSC)" (see attached picture)I noticed that the option is not always grayed out and depends on which Evalboard I selected at the beginning.E.g. the option is available for the Nucleo64 boards. But with the H7 DISCO boards the option is gray again.  Does anyone know what it depends on when the option is available?I would be glad about an answer. Thank you.

Hello,I am working stm32mp157c. It has two processor (A7 and M4). They can communicate with each other over virt uart(rpmsg). When I want to send a message to a7 over m4, if the message is filled with constant data, everything is ok. If the message is filled with sequential data, the data cannot be fully transmitted. For example,while(1){OPENAMP_check_for_message();uint8_t buffer[496] = { 0 };for(uint16_t i = 0; i < sizeof(buffer); i++) buffer[i] = 48;VIRT_UART_Transmit(&huart0, buffer, sizeof(buffer));HAL_Delay(1000);}In the above case everything is ok. But the following situationwhile(1){OPENAMP_check_for_message();uint8_t buffer[496] = { 0 };for(uint16_t i = 0; i < sizeof(buffer); i++) buffer[i] = i;VIRT_UART_Transmit(&huart0, buffer, sizeof(buffer));HAL_Delay(1000);}It can only receive 251 of 496 bytes of data. IPCC clock speed is 210MHz.What could be the problem?

Hi,I am trying to use the ROM bootloader on the STM32G071 to change the contents of specific flash sections. I was able to enter the bootloader just fine, at least I think so because I can see in the debugger how different points in the address space above 1fff0000 are accessed.I am using this library on another STM32 as a master:https://github.com/glegrain/STM32-SPI-Bootloader-hostSince it's written by an STM employee and the commands are exactly like in AN2606 I am confident this is correct. However I can't even get past the first synchronization sequence. The bootloader only responds with seemingly random data. The baud rate is below 8MHz as necessary. Is there some additional timing I have to adhere to, or anything else that I am missing?I rechecked this on an STM32F446 Nucleo and am having the same problems.I used the CubeMX configuration for SPI on master side with CPOL Low, CPHA Edge 1, MSB first 8bit.Thanks

After initializing the project, I freeze waiting for the presence of data of type 0x04 in the list in function Sensor_DeviceInit() - app_bluenrg_2.c. Please tell me what could be wrong?

I've created h and c files in Inc and Src folders, I get the following error: "undefined reference to `ILI9341_DrawPixel'*.h file:void ILI9341_DrawPixel(uint16_t x,uint16_t y,uint16_t color);*.c file:while (x >= y) { ILI9341_DrawPixel(X + x, Y + y, color); ILI9341_DrawPixel(X + y, Y + x, color); ILI9341_DrawPixel(X - y, Y + x, color); ILI9341_DrawPixel(X - x, Y + y, color);.......undefined reference to `ILI9341_DrawPixel'Best regards

I'm new to STM32s and I want to verify that I can put a Quad-SPI PSRAM chip (or SRAM, DRAM, etc) on the Quad-SPI interface and have everything work? From what I have read it seems like it will work, but everything seems to refer to using FLASH memories, not xRAM devices. The only caveat I see is that the Memory-mapped mode _won't_ work because that is read-only. With that option gone, I'd write some simple code to operate in Indirect Mode (register access) (or perhaps DMA?). My requirements are more storage space than speed. (I need >= 8 Mbits)So, as I said at the top, I'm just looking for verification that this approach will work. Thanks!

I watched a tutorial using this code: pwmData[0] = 10; pwmData[1] = 20; pwmData[2] = 30; pwmData[3] = 40; pwmData[4] = 50; pwmData[5] = 60; pwmData[6] = 70; pwmData[7] = 80; pwmData[8] = 90; pwmData[9] = 100;   HAL_TIM_PWM_Start_DMA(&htim1, TIM_CHANNEL_1, (uint32_t *)pwmData, 10);With it you can change the duty cycle of many signals, I would like to know a way to put also successive periods in an array, in order to change, not only the duty cycle but the periode as well. The problem with this code is that ARR doesn't change? Is there a proper way to realize what I would like?

I set ACT_THS and ACT_DUR registers, so now the chip enters on low data rate mode (10 Hz) when no movement is detected. everything is fine to that point. I don't have access to INT1 and INT2 pins physically so I need to read activity/inactiviy status by registers.

Hi Community,I am using video widget to play the sample videos provided in demo (STM32F769I). But i wanted to play custom videos. Run Target is is also 100% completed but video is not updated on the display. Anyone knows how to play custom videos using Video Widget.Touch GFX Version : 4.19.1.Video Format: MJPEG videos in AVI format.

Hi, I try to download X-CUBE-CRYPTOLIB but after clicking on ACCEPT "terms and conditions" I always get 404 Error

Hi, I have been investigating a current leak in my circuit. I triangulated it to my IIS3DWB, when the accelerometer is not communicated through and all pins are pulled up by the MCU, I get a system current consumption of ~20uA (expected) But if I ever communicate with IIS3DWB, even for checking the WHOAMI register, my current floor is set to 1mA. (starting accelerometer adds 1an extra 1 mA)This persists even if I set the lanes that drive SPI to GPIO and pull them up. (or down)Persists if I make a software reset. It only resolves with a power cycling of the board. It is as if in IIS3DWB something latches and sinks current. I read the other post, cleaned the flux and tried SW RESET. I also have ties the VDDIO to VDD, since the comm voltage is the same with VDD.What might be the culprit? VDD is 3V6 (But the current persists with 3V or 3V3)What might be the culprit?
