Dear All,   I have been working on communicating with LCD module by 3 wire, 9bits SPI. Firstly I implemented it by gpio. I can communicated with LCD module by 3 wire, 9bits SPI. But we encounter problem in total time in sending pixel data by SPI. We're using 320X240 LCD. It takes around 18 seconds to transfer all pixel data to LCD module. Therefore I need to find another way to reduce time in communicating with LCD module. We think that SPI driver will be faster than using GPIO. But I wonder how to send each data in 9 bits. If anyone have experience about SPI 9 bits, please advise.

Hello everyone I am looking into the STPM33/34. I only want to use 1 SPI bus for both ICs and select it with the SCS. In the datasheet I cannot see whether the MISO goes into tristate when the IC in question is not active. I also cannot see any information about the galvanic isolation/barrier. Can anyone give me information about this.Thank you in advance.

Fresh Windows 11 install, fresh TouchGFX install. Started up fine, until I tried to open one of the sample projects. Now the tool won't start at all, and I just get a dialog "Failed to load native freetype library / Could not open file".I did find: https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-touchgfx-and-gui/touchgfx-crashes-on-project-creation/td-p/578159Unclear exactly what was the suggestion. Someone said "install a newer version of VC++", but I don't have that installed and I don't want to have it installed. There is a link to the C++ redistributable in that thread, which I did install, but it made no difference.

Hello,We are attempting to implement a ping test on the STM32H753 evaluation board. We need to supply the LAN8742 PHY IC with a clock source via the ETH_MCO pin from the MCU. We've configured the PA8 pin of the MCU to RCC_MCO_1 and set the MCO1 clock to 25 MHz, as shown in Figure 1. This setup should generate a 25 MHz clock signal on the PA8 pin. (Note: We have observed the 25 MHz clock signal on the PA8 pin using a DSO.) Figure 1: MCO1 clockFigure 2: STM32H7x3I-EVAL RevB Ethernet Figure 3: Ethernet related jumpers When we set the JP5 jumper to connect pin 1 and pin 2, the LAN8742 PHY IC receives its clock from the 25 MHz quartz crystal, and the ping test works fine. However, when we move the JP5 jumper to connect pin 2 and pin 3, the LAN8742 PHY IC receives its clock signal from the ETH_MCO pin of the MCU. (Note: The 25 MHz clock signal is observed on the PA8 pin using a DSO.) In this configuration, if ethernet cable is connected to ethernet jack of STM32 evaluation

I'm working on implementing Precision Time Protocol (PTP) on the STM32H7S3L8 Nucleo board. I have followed the steps outlined in section 64.9.9 Programming Guidelines for IEEE 1588 Timestamping from the reference manual. (github: stm32h7_ptpd)  /* Mask the timestamp trigger interrupt */ ETH->MACIER &= ~(ETH_MACIER_TSIE); /* Program the Subsecond increment register based on the PTP clock frequency. */ ETH_SetPTPSubSecondIncrement(ADJ_FREQ_BASE_INCREMENT); /* to achieve 20 ns accuracy, the value is ~ 43 */ if (UpdateMethod == ETH_PTP_FineUpdate) { /* If you are using the Fine correction method, program the Time stamp addend register * and set Time stamp control register bit 5 (addend register update). */ ETH_SetPTPTimeStampAddend(ADJ_FREQ_BASE_ADDEND); ETH_EnablePTPTimeStampAddend(); /* Poll the Time stamp control register until bit 5 is cleared. */ while(ETH_GetPTPFlagStatus(ETH_PTP_FLAG_TSARU) == SET); } /* To select the Fine correction method (if

I have created a custom external loader for the H750B-DK.I would like to improve the write/read speed using STM32CubeProgrammer.How can I achieve this? The current conditions are as follows:Dual Flash modeQSPI CLK = approximately 20 MHzMemory Mapped Mode is SDR (Single Data Rate command) The time taken to read/write 32MB is as follows:Read: approximately 58 secondsWrite: approximately 45 seconds I tried the following methods, but they did not have any effect:Changed read to DDR (during transition to Memory Mapped Mode, 6Dh)Changed QSPI CLK from 20MHz to 100MHz (no significant improvement) Could the following be the reasons why NOR Flash read/write cannot be improved?Overhead due to the SWD frequency limit of STLinkV3 (24000 KHz)Limitations of NOR Flash program time If you know any methods to improve the performance, I would appreciate your suggestions.

Hi,I have upgraded from STM32CubeIde 1.12.1 to 1.15.1.I am trying to build my project with STM32CubeIde v1.15.1 in headless mode on Ubuntu 22.04.Note - This worked fine with v1.12.1 with no problems at all but now 1.15.1 there is.The command I run is:     headless-build.sh -importAll .   I get the following error:   !SESSION 2024-06-06 09:06:41.652 ----------------------------------------------- eclipse.buildId=Version 1.15.1 java.version=17.0.8.1 java.vendor=Eclipse Adoptium BootLoader constants: OS=linux, ARCH=x86_64, WS=gtk, NL=en_US Framework arguments: -application org.eclipse.cdt.managedbuilder.core.headlessbuild -importAll . Hi,I have a c++ project using the ST25R95 as a reader talking to a STM32L4 micro.  I want to play around with putting it in tag emulation mode so I can use an external reader to read data from it.I see references to emulation in the data sheet but don't really see how to put it into this mode.  Is there any example code or instructions for doing this?

Is my camera module working fine (all 3 LEDs light up)? What is camera continuous mode? Anyone have any information regarding this? I am working with the model zoo image classification project, and facing issue, after troubleshooting by blinking LED of the board. I found that the camera initialization is having error. Can anyone provide any information regarding this? Thanks

Hello All, I'd be glad to hear from someone who has used PSSI in a high-bandwidth application. I'm interestedin hard numbers on sustained throughput with/without flow-control. My intended application is to interface some member of the STM32 product line (H7,L4,U5) with an FPGA. The intended clock rate is about 15Mhzat a width of 16bits, and to stream the data to onchip SRAM via DMA.  In terms of execution profile, the STM32 application would simply way until the capture a single long burst of data finishes, then post-process the data "offline". The CPU could therefore be sleeping during capture and I don't expect any other significant activity on the bus during capture. Specific concerns are:1. The PSSI peripheral contains a FIFO, so I'm confident the peripheral itself can keep up with a 15Mhz clockwith an HCLK of 100Mhz+, but I'm worried about the possibility of a FIFO overrun due to limited bandwidthon the AHB bus, so that the FIFO fills up because DMA can't

Hello,I've a project with the STM32G030F6 which use the RTC (SYSCLK=64MHz RTCCLK=32768Hz). During the setting of new date/time I enable the INIT mode with: LL_RTC_EnableInitMode (RTC); while (0u == READ_BIT (RTC->ICSR, RTC_ICSR_INITF)) { } The runtime of this while() loop is from 42µs to over 60µs. In the refernce manuel is descripe 61µs.If the measured timing normal? An how can I reduce it?The application use:RTCWakeUp TimerBackUp RegisterThanks for our help,Bernd

Hello,I've a spezial question about the reading of the RTC date/time. In my project are used the STM32G030F6 with SYSCLK=64MHz and RTCCLK=32768Hz. Per reset value the BYPSHAD=0.Now I read the date/time with the follwoing consecutive two lines: const uint32_t time_u32 = READ_BIT (RTC->TR, (RTC_TR_HT | RTC_TR_HU | RTC_TR_MNT | RTC_TR_MNU | RTC_TR_ST | RTC_TR_SU)); const uint32_t date_u32 = READ_BIT (RTC->DR, (RTC_DR_WDU | RTC_DR_MT | RTC_DR_MU | RTC_DR_DT | RTC_DR_DU | RTC_DR_YT | RTC_DR_YU)); I can change it to reduce the runtime to: const uint32_t time_u32 = RTC->TR; const uint32_t date_u32 = RTC->DR; We have don't use any IRQ's during reading the date/time.In the referenzmanual is describe that the shadow register are set every RTCCLK cycle. Also it is describe that when I have a verry fast SYSCLK than is not used a twice read of the date/time to check if it changed during the read.It is not complete clear when the shadow register are refreshed. Hi, I have managed to get my ipm motor running with hall sensors. I can run the motor with motor pilot no problem. I can run the motor down to zero rpm and in reverse direction. I have it running with a pwm signal generated on an arduino in forward rotation. The code generated by MC Workbench only allows for forward rotation. Can anyone tell if it is actually possible to get the motor to run in forward and reverse with a pwm signal.

HelloI am designing a board based on the STM32U5A9ZJxQ and I would like to use MIPI as the video output. On stm32 cube IDE it does not show the peripheral to enable it.Is is some kind of bug? Shouldnt be there?  Thank you

Hello ST experts,I hope this message finds you well!I am writing to request your support for a project involving the Nucleo-WL55JC. I have successfully communicated between two Nucleo boards using RF communication with the SUBGHZ protocol (not LoRa).However, I have encountered difficulties in establishing communication with other RF devices.Could you please assist me in developing an application -similar to the ping-pong example- that can scan RF signals within the range of 150 MHz to 980 MHz?Here you can find the last post.@STTwo-32 Many thanks in advance for your support.Best regards,Zayoud

Hi there!I 've got a project where i use the STM32H757 dual core (Riverdi 7")the M7 core runs freeRTOS with Ethenet (ping and echo OK)the M4 coreruns freeRTOS with ADC  using DMA and some EXTI (working as expected)When starting the M7 core first and then the M4 core for debugging (AN5361 - STLink GDB Server) the Ethernet connection is interrupted (no successfull ping), when the M4 debug session starts. M4 DMA is set behind the user_heap_stack in the .ld file .dma_buffer : { . = ALIGN(8); *(.dma_buffer) } >RAM  Cheers!

I'm updating a text field (textArea with wild card) every tick (only for testing, in practice it will be updated less, and only when invalidated when changed). It updates the field just fine, however the old value remains in the other frame buffer. So the value alternates between the new value and the old value. But only if new text is smaller than old text. Here was my initial code:  void Screen1View::updatePowerState(const char* str) { touchgfx::Unicode::strncpy(textAreaPowerControlStateBuffer, str, TEXTAREAPOWERCONTROLSTATE_SIZE -1); textAreaPowerControlState.resizeToCurrentText(); textAreaPowerControlState.invalidate() }  But this code didn't work when increasing the size. So I tried to invalidate by rectangle instead:  void Screen1View::updatePowerState(const char* str) { Rect invalidatedArea = textAreaPowerControlState.getRect(); invalidatedArea.x=0; // convert to relative rect invalidatedArea.y=0; // convert to relative rect touchgfx::Unicod

Hi ST support team,I'm trying to implement OTA in my application using the BLE-OTA bootloader firmware and test it using BLE sensor application running on a mobile device. I have successfully tested the BLE-OTA using the heart rate sensor OTA application, and everything worked fine. I made the same changes as suggested in the user guide and also referred to the HRSTM OTA application. In my custom BLE firmware, all changes are done, and I can see the reboot OTA characteristics. However, when I start OTA in my firmware, it receives the data on the reboot characteristic, and the application switches to bootloader mode. After switching to bootloader mode, the BLE-OTA application gets stuck and does not start any advertisements or BLE connections. The only difference between my application and the heart rate sensor application is that my application uses FreeRTOS config. While debugging the BLE-OTA application, I found that the OTA app gets stuck in the SHCI_C2_BLE_Init function, specifically

I just wanted to check the validity of an old post from 2022.The VL53L8CX, like other TOF devices returns a 8x8 grid of distances. The distances are tuned, so if a flat surface for example a wall is directly in front of the sensor (sensor is facing the wall with no offset or rotation) at a distance of 1 metre. Then all the 8x8 Zones will report a distance of 1 metre (assuming no floor, ceiling etc..., so there are no other reflections etc...). The measured distances are in fact larger for angles offset from zero, but they compensated for the requirements of the mobile phone manufacturers etc... Is this still true. Link to post:-Solved: VL53L5CX Distances Don't Match Theory - What am I ... - STMicroelectronics Community

Hi, I'm trying to change the value of the register RCC_RDLSICR (RCC reset duration and LSI control register, address offset 0x144). I need to change the Minimum Reset Duration value. In all power management/low power handling manuals for STM32MP15x lines the documentation says that you can change the registers value, but I can't find HOW I can achieve that. I can write them in dts? inside u-boot? please I need clarifications about that. NOTE: I'm using a custom STM32MP153 board with OpenSTLinux distribution on it.  Thanks a lot

I have a circuit with pmic STPMIC1APQR and STM32MP157DAA1 processor. For reference, I take STM32MP157A-EV1.There are cases when STPMIC1APQR does not turn on every time you turn on the power (1 time out of 20-50 turns on). At the same time, the input power of 5V (VIN) is present on it, but there is no output voltage and therefore the processor does not start. When such a situation occurs, only PONKEY_N (PIN 17) helps, then pmic restarts and turns on.Please help.I am attaching a schematic and a piece of the pcb.
