Hi,I am new to STM32.What are the pros and cons of using VS Code STM32 Extension vs just using CubeIDE?Is one more reliable than the other? Are they the same (equally good) if used just to write and compile code? What about debugging?Any general pointers are appreciated.Thank you :)

I'm working on a project that involves using FATFS and I was curious if I had to use the specified anti-tamp pin that gets shown. I declare other input GPIO, but only PC13 shows up as PC13-ANTI_TAMP

Hi All,I am implementing a custom bootloader on a STM32U575QII6, but it is not jumping to my program.I have my bootloader in bank 1, and I have written my program to Flash at address 0x08014000 - within the same bank.I have tried multiple things and followed different posts etc but nothing is working for me. There is nothing specific around the U5 series. #define APPLICATION_ADDRESS 0x08014000void (*pFunction)(void) = (void(*)(void)) APPLICATION_ADDRESS + 4; HAL_RCC_DeInit(); HAL_DeInit(); __disable_irq(); SysTick->CTRL = 0; SysTick->LOAD = 0; SysTick->VAL = 0; SCB->VTOR = (uint32_t)APPLICATION_ADDRESS; __set_MSP(*(uint32_t*) APPLICATION_ADDRESS); __DSB(); __ISB(); __enable_irq(); (*pFunction)(); Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I sample a 1000Hz periodic signal twice  each period. At 50us after the start of the period for samples A and after 850us for samples B with a single ADC and a single channel. I trigger the ADC with a delayed PWM (Combined PWM1 on a G431) and the results go in a circular 32 values long DMA buffer and I get 16 A and 16 B samples alternated in it. Circular since I do not process the values constantly. But the fact that A and B samples are alternating in one buffer doesn’t please me. Is there a way to get two DMA buffers out with A samples triggered by the rising edge of the timer and B on the falling edge (10us conversion times)? I have explored DMAMUX a bit. Was new to me. But that seems to only have one input from the ADC that cannot be multiplexed further based on ADC conversion complete combined with the value of the PWM trigger signal. Is there a logical way to do this?

Hello everyone , I am try to learn lorawan on a STM32WLE5 module, I am using this repository(https://github.com/Seeed-Studio/LoRaWan-E5-Node/tree/main/Projects/Applications/LoRaWAN/LoRaWAN_End_Node) for developing lorawan application. It works well but I need put device into shutdown mode after a lorawan communication. I'm trying to run my application compiled and linked for DDR on STM32MP135F-DK. Following the wiki istruction it's necessary preliminary to run the DDRInit project on SYSRAM that initialize the DDR and then execute my custom program. When I execute the DDRInit project the DDR configuration seems to be ok but when ddr_test_data_bus() is executed it fail at the first DDR base address 0xC0000000. Can someone explain to me why? Thanks in advance.

Hello Everyone,I'm new to USB peripheral. I have STM32H573I-DK and trying to make Type-C work in Device CDC ACM class. I read some documents and examine example codes. After all this, I create a project and I can transmit data from my DK to PC but I can not see the data that I sent from PC to DK. When I debug the read thread, it looks like this SUSPENDED(ux _transfer_request_semaphore). Thread waits for some semaphore but I dont know where to put this semaphore.I dont know what I'm doing wrong, can you help me or guide me? Thanks. I attached my files, please review. Best Regards.

Hi I want to generate two PWM having phase shift between them. I am using stm32f410 and cubemx as platform. Could anyone please help.

Hello everyone,I'm currently trying to emulate both a keyboard and the mouse as hid-devices using stm32 and the descriptor that contains two collections.The descriptor:  // Keyboard 0x05, 0x01, 0x09, 0x06, // USAGE (Keyboard) 0xa1, 0x01, // COLLECTION (Application) 0x85, 0x01, // report id 1 0x05, 0x07, // USAGE_PAGE (Keyboard) 0x19, 0xe0, // USAGE_MINIMUM (Keyboard LeftControl) 0x29, 0xe7, // USAGE_MAXIMUM (Keyboard Right GUI) 0x15, 0x00, // LOGICAL_MINIMUM (0) 0x25, 0x01, // LOGICAL_MAXIMUM (1) 0x75, 0x01, // REPORT_SIZE (1) 0x95, 0x08, // REPORT_COUNT (8) 0x81, 0x02, // INPUT (Data,Var,Abs) 0x95, 0x01, // REPORT_COUNT (1) 0x75, 0x08, // REPORT_SIZE (8) 0x81, 0x03, // INPUT (Cnst,Var,Abs) 0x95, 0x05, // REPORT_COUNT (5) 0x75, 0x01, // REPORT_SIZE (1) 0x05, 0x08, // USAGE_PAGE (LEDs) 0x19, 0x01, // USAGE_MINIMUM (Num Lock) 0x29, 0x05, // USAGE_MAXIMUM (Kana) 0x91, 0x02, // OUTPUT (Data,Var,Abs) 0x95, 0x01, // REPORT_COUNT (1) 0x75, 0x03, // REPORT_SIZE (3) 0x91, 0x03,

This piece of code works if I transfer it to my board, but if I use the simulator in TouchGFX, I get an error: gui/src/model/Model.cpp:7:10: fatal error: main.h: No such file or directory #include "main.h". Screen1View.cpp#include "stm32f7xx_hal.h" // LED Toggle functionvoid Screen1View::ToggleLED(){ if (toggleButton1.getState()) HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOA, GPIO_PIN_0, GPIO_PIN_SET); else HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOA, GPIO_PIN_0, GPIO_PIN_RESET);} I am using TouchGFX 4.24BR

Hi I want to improve the FPS of TFT when using SPI interface.I use SPI+DMA+QuadSPI PSRAM+QuadSPI Flash for now.I notice STM32L4P5RG has DMA2D.So can it use for SPI interface? Will it have any improvement when I refresh TFT?If it has, how to use it?

Hello, I am trying to use one pair of STWLC38 in TX and RX mode each. And here are my questions. 1) I could find the firmware for RX in ST website, but not the firmware for TX. Does the RX firmware include TX configuration as well? 2) When I debug this chip in GUI, the initial mode is 'standalone'. I assume that if I put 5V to VOUT, the chip consider itself in the debug mode. However, to use this chip in TX mode, we have to give 5V input to the VOUT, which is the same way for debug mode. So, should I change the mode of the chip to TX all the time after I power the chip? Thanks for your attention.

Hello,I am considering transitioning to the ST MCU family for my inverter projects. The primary type of motor I use is ACIM. From what I have read, the latest version of the MCSDK/MotorControl Workbench only supports ACIM through two examples, and it is not possible to load my own type of motor and use it with a custom board. Is this correct?Additionally, I noticed in another post that there are plans to “add full support for the ACIM algorithm in September 2024.” @cedric H  Is this timeline still accurate? Is there any additional information or alternative solutions available?Thank you.

Hello, I’m encountering multiple errors and warnings when trying to compile a project using the STM32F10x Standard Peripheral Library in Keil uVision. The specific errors are related to assert_param being undeclared and numerous UTF-8 warnings in comments. Environment: STM32F10x Standard Peripheral LibraryKeil uVision (Using ARM Compiler v6.21)Key Errors: call to undeclared function 'assert_param'; ISO C99 and later do not support implicit function declarations [-Wimplicit-function-declaration]invalid UTF-8 in comment [-Winvalid-utf8] in stm32f10x.hIt seems like the compiler isn't recognizing the assert_param macro, which is leading to multiple errors. I’ve ensured that the stm32f10x_conf.h file includes the necessary header files, but the issue persists. Has anyone experienced similar issues or can provide guidance on resolving these errors? Thank you!

If this question is silly or obvious, I apologize, but I'd like some guidance on understanding this.I am playing around with C++ and freeRTOS on a STM32L476RGT6, below is a code snippet that creates an object main function of my program. This object contains a task function which blinks and an LED via calling a set(bool on) member method.   int main_cpp() { Led led_1(GPIO_PORT, GPIO_NUM); //case 1 (broken): allocating object application stack/main stack of program (RAM) //static Led led_2(GPIO_PORT, GPIO_NUM); //case 2 (works): allocating in .bss segment (Flash) //Led *led_3 = new Led(GPIO_PORT, GPIO_NUM) //case 3 (works): allocating on heap (RAM) vTaskStartScheduler(); return 0; } //inside Led.cpp: #include "Led.h" Led::Led(GPIO_TypeDef *gpio_port, uint16_t gpio_num): gpio_port(gpio_port), gpio_num(gpio_num){ xTaskCreate(blink_task_trampoline, "Blink Task", 255, this, 1, &task_blink_hdl); } void Led::set(bool on) { HAL_GPIO_WritePin(gpio_port, (1U &l

I am looking to build a visual model of the human cochlea and was hoping to use the Adruino Nano 33 Sense which has a MP34DT06J microphone integrated.  I can't find the frequency range in the documentation, but I am not an electrical engineer--so maybe it's there, but I don't understand the units being displayed.  Ideally I would be able to pickup the full human hearing range (12hz to 28khz) so I can visualize this.  I am not as concerned about accuracy since I will only be mapping this to 160 leds in a spiral (the shape of the cochlea).    Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

I'm using the STM32G030C8 for one of my projects and i realize that in some cases the RTC stops when the power supply is up. While in VBAT supply the resonator works well and provide the correct date and time, but when i use the power supply the resonator immediately stops to work. The oscilation signal disappears in osciloscope. It looks like the microcontroller does not switch the power for LSE properly. The crystal i'm using is the ECS 32.768 KHz 6 pF +/-10 ppm (https://br.mouser.com/ProductDetail/ECS/ECS-.327-6-34B-C-TR?qs=eP2BKZSCXI77Gsmdv1lxlw%3D%3D) with 10pF for load capacitors. The LSE Drive Level Capability is set to high. I even tested it with medium low and medium high and it doesn't make difference. In 8 boards assembled, the problem ocurred in 2. We are having some low temperatures over here ( < 10°C) and the problems appear mostly in low temperatures, but even in our lowest temperatures it doesnt get even closer to the lowest operation tempera

Per the presentation linked below, the independent watchdog timeout range for the SMT32H7 is from 125 microseconds to 32 seconds. Is 32 seconds a hard limit? We would like to increase this value.STM32H7-WDG_TIMERS-Independent Watchdog (IWDG)Thanks in advance for your help.Regards, Mark

Sorry for the rudimentary question. I tried to generate code by setting up pin assignments in STM32CubeIDE with reference to the following site, but the code such as main.c is not generated as shown in the following image. If you know the cause of the problem, I would appreciate it if you could tell me the solution as well as the countermeasures. https://qiita.com/yosihisa/items/136bcc09c466227303a2The procedure is as follows. 4 operations are recognized to generate the code automatically.1 Select STM32F405RG on the CPU selection screen. 2 Set the project name to LED3 Set PA15 to GPIO_Output4 Save the project by pressing ctrl+s

Several issues here.First issue, the indicated limits on PLLR are wrong:The error suggests the PLL output can be no higher than 150Mhz, which is wrong since the chip supports HCLK freqs up to 170Mhz. Which is also explicitly stated below the HCLK box: Second Issue, possibly related, the automated search feature, which tries to find a PLL configuration that produces a desired HCLK, fails to find a solution when the user chose target HCLK to be 170Mhz:But, if the user sets the target HCLK as 85Mhz, you do get a solution:If we then change the PLLR divider to /2 instead of /4, we get the desired HCLK of 170Mhz, and no violation is flagged for PLL/R (as shown above). Something here is clearly inconsistent. Summary:1. The upper limit for PLLR should be corrected to 170Mhz.2. if addressing (1) doesn't fix it, the automated search feature should be fixed so that it finds a solution for a target of HCLK=170Mhz.3. Because issue (1) exists, the limits for PLLM and PLLN should also be re

Hello Community,I had a doubt and wanted an explanation to it relating to a document published by STM electronics, https://www.st.com/resource/en/application_presentation/26oct2023-artificial-intelligence-enabler-time-of-flight-sensors-with-cnh-data.pdfIn this document on Pg 22, when you were trying to calculate the Cup's height:Given: Sensor height from the base of the cup.Process: You said that because the rays will get reflected inside the cup, you are considering the FSB, i.e the First Significant Bin, which is the nearest bin from the left in the CNH histogram of Signal Value vs Bins. Then it was mentioned that the rim that is getting detected in CNH but not being shown in the zone_data (distance) is because of the fact that it is not creating the signal peak value. But then you mentioned this besides the histogram,• Thanks to the CNH and histogram shape, we can deduct all light path.• Using the FSB method (First Significant Bin), we easily extract the distance from the

Currently I'm able to run ADC1 and ADC2 in interleaved mode using seperate (on purpose) DMA channels for ADC1 and ADC2. To start I'm using:  SET_BIT(hadc2.Instance->CFGR, ADC_CFGR_DMAEN); //Enable DMA transfer for ADC slave (ADC12_CCR.MDMA = 0b00 -> MDMA mode disabled) HAL_DMA_Start(hadc2.DMA_Handle,(uint32_t)&hadc2.Instance->DR, (uint32_t)adc_dma_voltage_buffer,NUMBER_OF_ADC_SAMPLES); //Start ADC slave DMA SET_BIT(hadc1.Instance->CFGR, ADC_CFGR_DMAEN); //Enable DMA transfer for ADC master (ADC12_CCR.MDMA = 0b00 -> MDMA mode disabled) HAL_ADCEx_MultiModeStart_DMA(&hadc1,(uint32_t *)adc_dma_current_buffer,NUMBER_OF_ADC_SAMPLES); //Start ADC interleaved mode My handler looks like this: void HAL_ADC_ConvCpltCallback(ADC_HandleTypeDef *hadc) { if (hadc->Instance == ADC1) { // Process the data in adc_buffer HAL_ADCEx_MultiModeStop_DMA(&hadc1); HAL_ADC_Stop(&hadc1); HAL_ADC_Stop(&hadc2); // Process data long avg_val = 0; fo

Hi everyone, I facing some issues with the custom flash loader tool and MCU, I developed the tool and bootloader code of the STM32H503RBt6 controller, and I flashed the hex file using the custom tool, its works but the data is not flashed in the controller,I configured the HSI Clock frequency 64Mhz(default freq),  set the voltage scaling is 2, FLASH_ACR_WRHIGHFREQ is 01,I was debugging step by step, it flashed properly but normally(without debugging) it's not working. I can't understand it.Anyone, please help to resolve this error, and suggest some ideas to develop the toolI have lot of questions, like what freq range is used to MCU in the custom bootloader, voltage scaling level and FLASH_ACR_WRHIGHFREQ ( to better convenient)
