Solved

Hello and thanks in advance for reading my post. I am currently working on my dissertation, trying to implement a digital signing algorithm on a Arm Cortex-M0+ microprocessor. I'm using a NUCLEO-G0B1RE board with a stm32 with the same series. This board does not come with a TRNG peripheral and I don't want to use a packaged one, as I'm trying to understand the process of crceating an RNG as well. From some posts I have read (either on this forum or other ones), it seems that uninitialized SRAM is a good starting point for my entropy source. I'm also taking into consideration using time jitter between two oscillators (mainly the 32 kHz +- 5% RC oscillator and the PLL block).I use VSCode and I wrote my own linker script and startup code.I have created a noinit section that loads into SRAM: .noinit (NOLOAD) : { *(.noinit) } >SRAMSRAM is a memory zone which has the origin and length based on the memory organization chapter in the reference manual and is according to my device spec

Hi, I have written a custom bootlader which verifies CRC of the aplication and then jumps to the application. I wanted to know how can I check the total execution time it takes from start of the bootloader execution to the start of the application execution. Is there any method to do this?Currently what I am doing is setting a GPIO pin in the bootloader and then resetting that GPIO at the start of the application code. Is the a correct approach or is there any other method should I try? Thanks,Sahil

Hello Community, I am using the STM32WL55JC16 microcontroller. When I try to set the PA1 pin as EXTI1, I am unable to enable its interrupt in NVIC1. A popup message appears stating: "The corresponding GPIO pin is left as 'FREE' and not used by any middleware or pack." I have updated to the latest version of the IDE, but I cannot find the Pin Reservation button. Could anyone provide guidance on how to resolve this issue? Thank you for your help!

I'm using en.stm32cubemp2-v1-1-0.zip plus patch file en.stm32cubemp2-v1-1-1.zip I'm trying to build CM0PLUS_DEMO for STM32MP257x-EV1 for the cortex-M0 core.I got planty of errors when trying to build it with STM32CubeIDE Version: 1.17.0 Build: 23558_20241125_2245 (UTC):Failed to generate command line.reason: Unknown target. I'm reviewing the 'How to use the Cortex-M0+' document for any advise on how to build the example but it does not give any expecial advise so I assume I have to use CubeIDE:https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_use_the_Cortex-M0%2B#Memories_RIF_configuration_exampleOther examples for the Cortex-M33 build correctly. Thanks in advance, Hector.

I'm working on an STM32 project where I'm jumping to code in external QSPI flash (address 0x90000000) after booting from internal flash. I've configured the QSPI memory-mapped mode correctly, and the jump to the external flash works. The interrupt vector table is set up at the beginning of my external flash memory, and the linker script is configured to place the code in external flash, with VTOR set to the start of external flash memory. The MPU is currently disabled. When the code is running from external flash, HAL_Delay() causes my program to stall. However, if I replace HAL_Delay() with a simple custom delay loop, the code runs correctly. This strongly indicates that there is an issue with how HAL_Delay() is interacting with the hardware or the HAL itself when the code is running from external memory. I've verified that the clock settings are consistent in both internal and external flash.I need help in understanding what could be causing HAL

Dear ST community,I want to send some data (like an integer or a decimal number) from Labview to the STM32 Nucleo F401RE board for motor speed controlling application. I have tried using NI DAQ (using digital output pins) and NI VISA. i am finding it difficult to get the output. what are the steps to be taken ?  Regards,Shruthi

I have an older STM32 Nucleo-F746ZG and I want to try and send some serial over the ST-Link. I am in Ubuntu with VS Code. I have successfully built the project and it appears to be running in debug mode. However when I try to connect and read the serial output via Screen, Putty or even the Serial Monitor extension nothing is showing up on the serial port. I have found the ST-Link is at /dev/ttyACM0 and I have added my user to the dialout group, but nothing shows up. I am using UART2 in Asynchronous mode, added interrupt and using VS Code in debug mode. I suspect that this is OS related, but wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions on where to look. I have done other projects with STM32-Nucleo and VS Code so I believe this is a simple error on my part related to the ST-Link usb in Linux. Doug

Hello I want to understand Sequencer concept as per below link. https://wiki.st.com/stm32mcu/wiki/Utility:SequencerI tried to search stm32_seq.c in STM32F4  package but couldn't find.  I don't see any sequencer folder under utilities folder.

Hello,I am trying to use the VL53L7CX on a robotic project with the provided driver, but it fails at Init. The sensor is detected as alive ("isAlive" is true), the I2C speed is set to 1Mhz (even if I tried lower speeds as well), and it fails exacly at this line of the Init function:status |= _vl53l7cx_poll_for_answer(p_dev, 4, 0, VL53L7CX_UI_CMD_STATUS, 0xff, 2);The status byte is 0 just before that and it goes to 66 (MCU failure) just after the above line. And if I put 2 instead of 4 in the second argument, it doesn't fail at this line, but 2 lines after:status |= _vl53l7cx_send_offset_data(p_dev, VL53L7CX_RESOLUTION_4X4); For info, when I don't stop the init after these errors (forcing the following lines to be executed), I am able to "see" (with a smartphone camera) the infrared light from the sensor when starting ranging in my ranging function, but without any result, nothing detected. Does it mean that at least the firmware is downloaded?Any help would be apreciated! Thanks.

I am putting together a project for the U031 Nucleo board based on the DAC signal generation example project. From the configuration page I have added SPI, as well as TIM2 and the other required drivers (DAC, DMA, EXTI, TIM1). When it generates code, it looks like everything is there in way of configuration but stm32u0xx_hal_spi.c is not included in the drivers to be compiled. When I try to build the project the HAL_SPI_INT function cannot be found. It seems to find all the correct header files and the configuration in stm32u0xx_hal_config.h is correct and SPI is defined but it is not included in the make. It shows all the other required drivers in the driver directory but not spi.  The stm32u0xx_hal_spi.c and stm32u0xx_hal_spi_ex.c files are both in the same project folder with all the other drivers. I have checked the auto generated submake files and spi is not listed. If I build an example with just SPI then the driver is included. Originally I had the proje

Hi, I have the part STM32F405RGT6 with date code:2318 (does not have the ARM marking) and date code: 2440 (with the ARM marking) on the package body. Both coo: ChinaMay i know if anyone can advice or any PCN that support on this body marking changes, when was this ARM marking took place.Thank you

I am using TouchGFX Designer standalone and can build and simulate my project ok, but Program and Run Target fails with 'recipe for target '_extflash_' failed' even though STM32CubeProgrammer is connected to the STM32F7508-DK  board that I am using. What am I missing please?

Hi, I am working on an IR remote using STM32L412RBT6P. I have the touch sensing system working to provide the buttons for the user. The user touches a button to send an IR (RC5) code and an LED flashes to let you know it happened. Q1:I have one touch channel that holds the pressed condition for 2 to 3 times longer than the the others. You can clearly see this in Cube Monitor when looking at the Delta's. You can see the channel 3 (Red) is holding the touched condition longer in the attached image. All touches are as similar as I can do. All sensors and PCB tracks are very similar to each other. What effects the duration of the touched condition? This channel is connected is TSC_G2_IO1 (PB4). After laying out the PCB I discovered UM1913. This recommends PB4 is only used for the active shield, which I have allocated to TSC_G1_IO1, Shield and IO3, Capacitor. Does this contribute to the longer touched time?   Q2: I am currently running the clock at 20MHz. If I reduce it 2MHz to get int

HelloThis is my first post on the forum, always a happy reader in the past and happy STM32 user as well! Now I want to go a bit further then the standard IO and control. I want to implement LWIP + FreeRTOS with a STM32F7. And yes, the fresh generated code doesn’t work out the BOX, surprise. After debugging and reading a lot of posts I was able to get a ping from my bord! Yes!Well after creating 2 threads and try to do some UDP socket handling, it was again broken! (Only setup the connection, no traffic yet.)What is the status for ST to support LWIP on there hardware? When I search on the forum my PC is exploding how many topics are created and bug reports are made some of them already years ago without any solution or implementation in newer releases from Cube MX.What is the roadmap, ST + LWIP (+ FreeRTOS)? I know your goal is to sell silicon, but if the software is well written and the basic stuff is working out of the box, you will sell more silicon!

Hi I have been trying to configure the RS485 and trying to enable DE line. Though I have configured the DE line correctly, but still when HAL_UART_Transmit() is called, it just stays low and never get enabled for D to tranmit the data to the destination. Here is the code:  void UART6_Init(void) {  __HAL_RCC_USART6_CLK_ENABLE();__HAL_RCC_GPIOG_CLK_ENABLE();__HAL_RCC_GPIOB_CLK_ENABLE(); GPIO_InitTypeDef GPIO_InitStruct; // UART TX (PG14) and RX (PG9) pin configurationGPIO_InitStruct.Pin = GPIO_PIN_14 | GPIO_PIN_9;GPIO_InitStruct.Mode = GPIO_MODE_AF_PP;GPIO_InitStruct.Pull = GPIO_NOPULL;GPIO_InitStruct.Speed = GPIO_SPEED_FREQ_VERY_HIGH;GPIO_InitStruct.Alternate = GPIO_AF8_USART6;HAL_GPIO_Init(GPIOG, &GPIO_InitStruct); // DE (PB0) pin configuration for alternate functionGPIO_InitStruct.Pin = GPIO_PIN_0;GPIO_InitStruct.Mode = GPIO_MODE_AF_PP; // Alternate function for DEGPIO_InitStruct.Pull = GPIO_NOPULL;GPIO_InitStruct.Speed = GPIO_SPEED_FRE

Can the 433 MHz STM32WL55JC2 operate at 915 MHz by changing the antenna and software configuration?I have the STM32WL55JC2 functioning at 433 MHz. I'm studying signal propagation and want to operate this device at 915 MHz. I know there is a difference in antennas, but can I swap in the 915 MHz antenna and set up the software using the STM32CubeMX to broadcast at 915 MHz?

Using CubeIDE 1.16.0. and Cmake. I am able to build no problem because i added that "libraries" folder to CmakeListBut CubeIDE is not able to see them, i cannot Ctrl+click into them :(Maybe i need to update manually the path in project>properties?

STM32G0B0 datasheet DS13565 Rev 3 in Chapter 3.6 Boot modes tells: "• USB on pins PA11/PA12 (except for STM32G0B0KE)" This reads like DFU system bootloader is not available. However AN2606 Rev 64 has no restrictions for DFU bootloader on STM32G0B0. Is the datasheet wrong or at least missleading or does AN2606 miss a clause  for STM32G0B0?

Hi everyone,The stm32mp1 use SDMMC2 as default emmc controller. Now, I need use SDMMC1 to connect emmc flash. And I saw the OTP need changed. Bud I am confuse about IOs of SDMMC1. Does it also need setting some OTP bits to pinmux CK, CMD, D0?This picture show need change bit to chose SDMMC1.This picture is confused me. When I use SDMMC1, is it need configure CMD, CK,D0 to default pinmux on SDMMC1? If it is needed, where to configure those?

Hi guys, unfortunately I am not able to find an example on how to use/configure the STM32F769I-DISCO with FatFS and USB-Mass Storage to be able to stick a USB-Stick into the board and read/write files. Can someone of you point me in the right direction?I am getting the HOST_USER_CONNECTION event but not the HOST_USER_CLASS_ACTIVE event when plugging an USB-Stick into the board and have not the slightest idea where to start. In CubeMX I am getting an error that VBUS is not configured correctly before creating the code but there doesn't seem to be a dedicated pin for that on the DISCO board.Cheers,Patrick

Steps to reproduce: Start a new STM32 Project in STM32CubeIDE v1.17.0Select NUCLEO-F746ZG board, and initailize all peripherals. Now in the IOC editor, under Middleware select LwIP and enable it.Set the PHY to LAN8742 in the "Platform Settings" tab.On the Key Options tab set NO_SYS to OS Not Used.In General Settings tab, disable DHCP, disable the TCP module and enable UDP.Go back to Key Options tab and note that the "LWIP_RAM_HEAP_POINTER" is set to 0x30004000Save, Build an run the project in debug mode. The code will hard-fault during MX_LWiP_Init() because the RAM HEAP POINTER is wrong. Now open the file at LWIP/Target/lwipopts.hNote that at approximately line 58/59 there is:         /*----- Default Value for F7/H7 devices: 0x30044000 -----*/ #define LWIP_RAM_HEAP_POINTER 0x30004000         FIrst of all the comment doesn't match the value given, and even if you change the value given to the same as the comment (this is an F7 device after all) th

I encountered this error when I was trying to flash my custom board with fresh stm32F070C6T6. I used st link v2 for debugging. I updated the firmware of st link v2 right before debugging. NRST floating, BOOT0 connected to 3V3 -> failed (in any mode)NRST floating, BOOT0 connected to GND -> failed (in any mode)NRST connected to GND, BOOT0 connected to 3V3 -> failed (in any mode)NRST connected to GND, BOOT0 connected to GND -> failed (in any mode) I also tried both on Windows and Mac(m3), and was not successful.I also tried Cube IDE, Cube Programmer, and st link utility, but all did not work.I also tried to use DFU, but it also failed. (no dfu detected) I measured the voltage to be 3.16V and ensured the wiring was ok. Now, I have no idea what I should do to fix this issue. Can anyone point out where it went wrong? Thanks.

Hi,I'm using stm32f072rbt6 mcu for my project. And I want to write data to my usb flash drive as a txt file.I have researched some tutorials but to do this usually used mcu's such as stm32f767zit6 and these mcu's have USB_OTG_FS feature which my mcu doesn't have.Is there any example or tutorial to do this with my stm32f072rbt6 mcu? or can I do that with my mcu?Thank you!

Hi all. I'm having trouble with the following function. My TouchGFX guihas two radio button groups, each with three radio buttons. The first selects between three different wire gauges, awg42, awg43 and awg44.The second set selects between the resistance values of each of the wire gauges. For each wire gauge, I have three resistance values, min, nom and max toaccount for variance in the actual wire resistance in a real-world situation.Obviously, resistance is based on a variety of external factors.I have a single TextArea on the screen to which I want to print the decimalvalue of the selected resistance. So for example, I want to select a wire gauge of awg42 with a nominal resistance valueor, select a wire gauge of awg43 with a minimal resistance value and have the screenupdate with the result. So far, this is not happening. The TextArea is updated with the format specifier, notthe resistance value. I have tried snprintf alternatives but without success.I'm using a typedef struct to hold a

Posted on April 15, 2017 at 13:11This bug has been reported before, but has survived a couple of cube version bumps.STM32CubeMX 4.20.1 and f7_cube 1.6.1in stm32f7xx_hal_conf.h it defines the PHY address incorrectly#define LAN8742A_PHY_ADDRESS           1should be#define LAN8742A_PHY_ADDRESS           0A symptom of this bug is HAL_ETH_ReadPHYRegister returning 0xFFFF for literally everything, and your cube-generated ethernet code won't work.
