Hi! Im doing my project using mpu6500 and I use hal_i2c_mem_read to read the WHOIMI register at 0x75 with the device address 0x69 (AOD to vcc) and I alway get the value 0x00. Why is that? is this module require something soldered to this pad (img) to turn on i2c protocol or what, please help me out.

Hello,I am working with an STM32G431K8T6and using the LL library to configure SPI in master mode. The issue is with the MISO pin (PB4).The pin is configured as SPI input, with no pull-up or pull-down.When PB4 is left unconnected, the voltage is measured at 3.3v.If I short PB4 directly to GND, the current goes up to about 65mA, which looks like the pin is driving strongly, similar to push-pull output.Because of this, the SPI slave cannot pull the line low enough, and communication fails.Configuration Details:void MX_SPI1_Init(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN SPI1_Init 0 */ /* USER CODE END SPI1_Init 0 */ LL_SPI_InitTypeDef SPI_InitStruct = {0}; LL_GPIO_InitTypeDef GPIO_InitStruct = {0}; /* Peripheral clock enable */ LL_APB2_GRP1_EnableClock(LL_APB2_GRP1_PERIPH_SPI1); LL_AHB2_GRP1_EnableClock(LL_AHB2_GRP1_PERIPH_GPIOA); LL_AHB2_GRP1_EnableClock(LL_AHB2_GRP1_PERIPH_GPIOB); /**SPI1 GPIO Configuration PA7 ------> SPI1_MOSI PB3 ------> SPI1_SCK PB4 ------> SPI1_MISO

I have been trying to deploy a simple ML model on my STM32 NUCLEO H755ZIQ, i've been following a tutorial as am learning right now, but no matter how many times i try i cant seem to shake of these three errors:1. when i try to open the XcubeAI  interface a dialogue pops up saying setting up USART3 but it never stops loading, i suppose its a bug but i leave it to the experts to decide what it is. 2. when i try to validate the code on target board, it gives an error: E200(ValidationError): TARGET: Unable to bind the ST.AI runtime with "network" c-model: []E801(HwIOError): Invalid firmware – /dev/cu.usbmodem11403:1152003. When am trying to build the model i got this error: error: unknown type name 'ai_i8'error: unknown type name 'ai_handle'fatal error: bsp_ai.h: No such file or directoryPlease help me out and guide me how to run this basic project on my board i found on the internet: https://github.com/stevemac321/5_Class_Embedded_Keras/tree/maini

Hi,I have a question regarding the backup SRAM in the STM32U5. The reference manual is not clear about this:On the one had, it mentions the following Which seems to indicate that it is possible to place the device in standby without powering SRAM2. HOWEVER, it also says this: This last line (The backup SRAM content is lost in Standby mode without SRAM2 retention. If either RRSB1 or RRSB2 bit is set in Standby mode, the backup SRAM is also retained.) seems to say that it is NOT possible, and one ALWAYS has to retain the 8kB to retain at least the 2kB. What's more, in the PWR_ModesSelection example, the example configurations only include the following 3 options: Which also seem to indicate that it is not possible to only retain the 2kB  So which is it: Is it possible to retain the backup SRAM (2kB) WITHOUT retaining the full 8kB (or the other page) of the SRAM2 bank or not? Thanks for your clarification!Arnout

Hi, we are currently using different types of the STM32H743 and I want to verify the package to make sure the software is running on the expected device. For this I am using LL_GetPackageType() and check the returned value against one of the LL_UTILS_PACKAGETYPE defines in stm32h7xx_ll_utils.h (line 202 and following). The UFBGA169 package is not listed here.  What is the correct value for it? The H743AII6 on my board reports 8. Please add this package in a next HAL release for H7 series.   Kinds regards, Martin

Hi,i just generated a project using the Device Configuration Tool (1.19.0). All works. But as soon as I enable "Generate peripheral initialisation as a pair of '.c/.h' files per peripheral" the hardware stands at:static HAL_StatusTypeDef USB_CoreReset(USB_OTG_GlobalTypeDef *USBx) { __IO uint32_t count = 0U; /* Wait for AHB master IDLE state. */ do { count++; if (count > HAL_USB_TIMEOUT) { return HAL_TIMEOUT; } } while ((USBx->GRSTCTL & USB_OTG_GRSTCTL_AHBIDL) == 0U); count = 10U; /* few cycles before setting core reset */ while (count > 0U) { count--; } /* Core Soft Reset */ USBx->GRSTCTL |= USB_OTG_GRSTCTL_CSRST; do { ////loops forever here?!?!?! count++; if (count > HAL_USB_TIMEOUT) { return HAL_TIMEOUT; } } while ((USBx->GRSTCTL & USB_OTG_GRSTCTL_CSRST) == USB_OTG_GRSTCTL_CSRST); return HAL_OK; } I had no closer look into what is done differently. Just wanted to report the issue. Again, if everything is inside of

Hi,I’m looking for the ECCN (Export Control Classification Number) for this part:Part number: NAND01GW3B2BN6EDescription: 1 Gbit NAND Flash, industrial temperature, TSOP48 packageSome distributors say it’s EAR99, but based on the specs (over 16 Mbit flash), it might also fall under 3A991.b.1.a.Does anyone know the official classification from ST, or if a CCATS number exists? We need this info for export compliance reasons. Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi! I am trying to control the read write permission of my st25dv nfc tag with a nordic chip, but i am having a hard time doing that. I am able to write to it and everything using i2c and nfc, and with the following code  #include <zephyr/kernel.h> #include <zephyr/device.h> #include <zephyr/logging/log.h> #include <zephyr/drivers/i2c.h> #include <string.h> LOG_MODULE_REGISTER(st25dv_demo, LOG_LEVEL_INF); #define ST25DV_ADDR 0x53 #define I2C_NODE DT_NODELABEL(i2c2) #define EEPROM_START_ADDR 0x0000 #define EEPROM_LEN 16 #define I2C_PWD_REG 0x09B0 #define I2C_SSO_DYN 0x2000 #define RFA1SS_REG 0x0004 #define ENDA1_REG 0x0005 #define ENDA2_REG 0x0007 #define ENDA3_REG 0x0009 static const struct device *i2c_dev; static int st25dv_write_sys(uint16_t reg, uint8_t data) { uint8_t buf[3] = { reg >> 8, reg & 0xFF, data }; return i2c_write(i2c_dev, buf, sizeof(buf), ST25DV_ADDR); } static int st25dv_open_session(const uint8_t *pwd) { uint8_t

Hello,I am working with an STM32WB55RGV6 on a custom board powered by battery (always connected).I successfully ran the Proximity example (non-RTOS) with BLE stack before, but after I worked on another project that used BLE stack + FreeRTOS, the BLE stack no longer works — even the old Proximity example stopped advertising.Current statusFUS Info (read via CubeProgrammer):FUS State: FUS_IDLEFUS Status: FUS_NO_ERRORFUS Version: v2.1.0.0Wireless Stack Version: v1.23.0.3Stack address: 0x080D0000FUS Operator: v3.1.0Option Bytes:RDP = 0xAASFSA = 0xD0 (0x080D0000)Boot config (nBOOT0, nSWBOOT0)  I already tried:Upgrading FUS and reinstalling BLE stack.Mass erase + reflashing the Proximity example.Result: No advertising, no BLE activity. What is the recommended way to fully recover BLE stack on a custom board (always battery powered) after using another project?

Hi, I'm using the STM32H753-NUCLEO Board for some SW development, and I'm having some issues with the SPI Handling.I'm attempting to transmit a single 16-bit data packet, however on the scope I'm transmitting two 16-bit data packets. When I change my data packet type to 8 bits, I'm transmitting 4 8-bit data packets.I've scoured the RM0433 manual but cannot find the register which tells the peripheral to only transmit a single data packet.Could someone point me to the correct register and what it should be set to to achieve this please?

Hello @STTwo-32,I was having the same issue and pressing the "start wireless stack" button did the trick for me. I was assuming after flashing the FUS & BLE Stack firmware, is that the CPU2 would be up and running already. So, does this mean that we need to manually start the CPU2 by pressing the button? Thanks! This post is created based on a comment for this post.

Hi I was working on an industrial automation project based on STM MCU and tried to place sample of  STM32H7 MCU from eStore but i can, it showed me the error message "You are not eligible to place this order. Please remove free samples and try again, or contact ST Online Support for assistance" when i choose china as a shipping location.

I created a static library using STM32Cube IDE and included it in a non-library project. Both projects build with no errors or warnings, and the application that uses this library runs correctly. My next step was to create an additional static library project and include the original static library in it. I can find no way to do this in STM32Cube IDE. Can anyone point me to project properties for a static library that will allow me to use a different static library I created?

HiI created a composite USB device with CDC and UVC classes using usbd. The device is detected, camera image streaming works, and data transfer via CDC (virtual serial port) also works. However, after a random time, communication on the CDC data out endpoint stops. Reopening this endpoint solves the problem. The same thing happens with EP0. When I repeatedly open and close the serial port, EP0 stops receiving data after some time. If I stop video streaming, CDC communication is stable.Sometimes I also get an incorrect video frame when data is transmitted via CDC. I'm using FreeRTOS, but running everything in a single thread didn't solve the problem. I have no further ideas what could be wrong.Any ideas?Artur

I am using two NUCLEO-U385RG-Q boards for I3C communication — one configured as the Controller (Master) and the other as the Target (Slave). I am trying to implement an IBI event with Pending Read Notification, and would like to know whether it is possible to perform Repeated START between the IBI and the subsequent Private Read? The transfer format for Pending Read Notification can be referenced in the following document, specifically Figure 6 – MCTP over I3C packet transfer format: I3C Target to I3C Controller:Management Component Transport Protocol (MCTP) I3C Transport Binding Specification  From the transfer format, it can be seen that Pending Read Notification essentially means that after the Controller receives an IBI event, it then performs a Private Read to the corresponding Target.Between these two operations, either STOP + START or Repeated START can be used. With the current SDK, STOP/START sequence between IBI and Private Read is possible (i.e., the Cont

Hi everyone! I have a working project based on STM32F746 with LCD, Ethernet and SDRAM(IS42S16160J-6TL) and now we are moving it to STM32H753II. I set up a FMC controller and tested whole SDRAM region with 8, 16, and 32 bit access. I use GCC. During this migration I discovered a line of the code that always generate a HardFault error with UNALIGNED flag set. This is this line: if (strncmp(data + i, boundary_str, 9) == 0) from: for (i = 0; i < len; i++) { if (strncmp(data + i, boundary_str, 9) == 0) { boundaryOffset = i + 9; break; } } data is placed in SDRAM like this: char eth_rx_buf[MAX_LENGH] __attribute__((section (".sdram_noncached"))); and boundary_str like this: static const char boundary_str[10] = "boundary="; HardFault happens every time when i becomes 10. MPU settings were copied from STM32F7 project: /** Initializes and configures the Region and the memory to be protected */ MPU_InitStruct.Enable = MPU_REGION_ENABLE; MPU_InitStruct.BaseAddress = 0xC0000000; MPU_I

Hi everyone,I'm working with an STM32N6 board and trying to deploy a custom YOLOv8n model in ONNX format using CubeMX and STM32 Edge AI. I’ve run into a few issues and was hoping someone could help clarify the process. Here’s what I’ve done so far:I successfully imported my yolov8n.onnx model into CubeMX + Edge AI.When I try to test the model using a .PNG image, I get an error saying PNG format is not supported. When I generate the C code using the model, I see a line in network.c where -inf is not defined, causing compilation errors. My Questions:How can I test my model using a PNG image, either on the STM32N6 device or on a desktop simulation?Do I need to convert the PNG to raw input data manually? What’s the correct way to prepare a PNG image as an input buffer for use with STM32 inference code? How do I resolve the -inf not defined issue in the generated network.c?Any help, code snippets, or documentation pointers would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone, I am working with an STM32H753ZI board and I want to set up CAN communication. I’m a bit confused about what changes I need to make. Here are my main questions: Does the STM32H753ZI use the regular CAN peripheral or the newer FDCAN peripheral? In CubeMX, which settings (baud rate, prescaler, seg1, seg2, etc.) are recommended for 500 kbps? Since the H753ZI board doesn’t have an onboard CAN transceiver, which external transceiver IC (e.g., MCP2551, SN65HVD230, TJA1050, etc.) would be best to use with it? Are there any example CubeIDE projects or reference codes specifically for CAN/FDCAN on the STM32H7 series? How to setup the pinout  configuration and clock configuration. I want to make sure I configure the peripheral and wiring correctly before testing. Any guidance, example code, or links to reference materials would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone , I'm testing ultra-low power on the NUCLEO-WL55JC using STM32CubeIDE . My goal is to reach ~0.9 µA in Stop 2 mode, but I consistently measure around 2.9 mA, even with the debugger disconnected. My setup: Stop 2 mode enabled MSI @ 100 kHz, PLL disabled PVD disabled All unused GPIOs set to analog SUBGHZSPI clock disabled Debug disabled CPU2 not activated Tick suspended Entering Stop 2 with HAL_PWREx_EnterSTOP2Mode() Measurement: JP7 and JP8 removed Powered via JP1 using STLINK-V3PWR Measured with STM32CubeMonitor-Power Question: Why is the current still so high? Is there anything specific on the NUCLEO-WL55JC board (RF switch, etc.) that needs to be disabled? Any working CubeIDE example that reaches ~0.9 µA?

Hello,I am having an issue with my STM32WBA65MI-based project file (IOC file) and CubeMX (6.15.0). It also happens when configuring the IOC file in CubeIDE 1.19.0.When I configure the clocks and then generate code and save the IOC file and then close the IOC file, the code is correctly generated. However, when I open the IOC file again, the clock settings are different:Cortex Clock Selection MuxCPU System Timer shows as LSE, despite previously having saved and generated as HCLK1 / 8. This means the CPU System Timer runs at 0.032768MHz rather than 12MHz.System Clock MuxThe System Clock Mux shows as HSE, despite previously having saved and generated as PLLCLK. This sets the SYSCLK to 32MHz (and has consequences downstream for peripherals)Related to the System Clock Mux, the HPRE5 Prescaler gets reset from / 4 (which I had saved) to / 1.If I were to generate code, it would replace the "correct" code with the new settings.Double-checking the original generated code, it seems that the setti

Hello,Our product is currently in the testing phase, and we are using the USB2534 hub IC for both data transfer and device charging on downstream port.In our setup, we are using USB 2.0 with a Type-C connector. A pen drive or mobile phone is connected to the downstream port of the USB2534, while an iPad, MacBook, or laptop is connected to the upstream port.Data transfer on the downstream port and mobile charging are working well. However, our key requirement is to enable iPad charging on the upstream port while the iPad is connected as a host and transferring data simultaneously.Could you please suggest a suitable USB PD controller IC or any other solution that could meet this requirement?A simple block diagram of our device is attached for batter understanding.  Looking forward to your guidance. Best regards,Tushar Raval.

Hello,I’m using the STM32L475VGT6 board and need drivers for the MAX30102/MAX30100 and Protocentral MAX86150 sensors. I couldn’t find official or compatible drivers for these sensors on this MCU.If anyone has links to drivers, example code, or advice on integration with STM32L475VGT6 (using STM32CubeIDE or HAL libraries), please share. Thanks in advance!

Akkording to AN3155, July 2025: "The highest tested baud rate (BHigh) is 115200." Have tried with 921600 and that seems to work fine.  Is the recommodation from ST that not use above 115200?

Hello,I am looking for a solution to a problem. To put it briefly, I want to update the program of a microcontroller via a USB key. It is an STM32L4+ series microcontroller.I saw on an STM32F429I-DISC test board that there was documentation for updating via USB flash drive. (https://www.st.com/resource/en/application_note/an3990-upgrading-stm32f4discovery-board-firmware-using-a-usb-key-stmicroelectronics.pdf)Since this is not the same microcontroller as the one I am targeting, I was wondering if this is possible with the STM32L4+. Thank you in advance for your response.
