Posted on August 02, 2017 at 11:42I have a clean slate CubeMX project on a STM32F401C-Discovery board. I have set up the onboard Cirrus audio DAC, and send a hard-coded test signal to it via DMA-driven I2S. I can hear the sound, but it is at wrong frequency. The 2kHz test signal, and the i2s-3 is set to 48kHz samplerate, but depending on how I configure the PLL, I hear 122Hz, 180Hz or 244Hz audio. I have confirmed with a logic analyzer that the I2S protocol runs too slow. The only things I have changed from the CubeMX generated template project is: enable i2c-1 (communication with the DAC, this works)enable i2s-3configure i2s-3 to have a cyclic DMA, 48kHz, 16bits on 32bit dataframeIn the source code, I only initialize the DAC and enable the DMA. No other changes to the generated source are done. The three configurations I tried with: PLLM=4 gives a I2S WS (frame clock) of 2.93kHz, and the 2kHz audio is at 122Hz:With PLLM=6, I see a WS of 4.4kHz, and audio at 184Hz:And with PLLM=8, WS i

Posted on August 01, 2017 at 13:43I am using lps22HB and connected it to edison through I2C interface.Env:I am using mraa and node JS.This is how I configured the sensor        i2cBus.writeReg(INTERRUPT_CFG, AUTOZERO | DIFF_EN | PHE | PLE);        i2cBus.writeReg(THS_P_L, (THS_P & 0xFF));        i2cBus.writeReg(THS_P_H, (THS_P>>8) & 0xFF);In the above code, I am using Differential threshold of pressure low and pressure high events. With this setup, when I poll for an differential pressure interrupt on INT_SOURCE register, I am able to accurately catch pressure low and pressure high events. But I dont want to do such tight polling..If I change the code to check for the generated interrupt once in every 1 second, it is not working. Somehow the generated interrupt is being cleared off without me reading the INT_SOURCE registerIs there a way to configure the sensor in such a way that

Posted on July 27, 2017 at 09:55I have a problem with STM32F756 USB CDC (HS with FS PHY) device and core sleeping. I isolated all other code and left only the USB driver and main loop calling WFI instruction. If there is no call to WFI, USB is working properly, but if I call WFI in the main loop, USB stops responding. USB clock is not stopped on entering in sleep. Any advise?#__wfi #stm32f7 #sleep #usb

Posted on July 31, 2017 at 13:36Hi, I am working on my project which requires to send some data over UART.I have F429ZI Nucleo board with a UART2 configured (see uart2_config image). The UART2 has Interrupts enabled so I can use the HAL_UART_Transmit_IT function.I am passing an array of uint8_t values. Only 4 bytes. The bytes are getting transmitted via the TX pin as expected, but only 7 bits per byte are transmitted. (see tx_8_bits_no_parity image). So I got into the F429xx datasheet (http://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/technical/document/reference_manual/3d/6d/5a/66/b4/99/40/d4/DM00031020.pdf/files/DM00031020.pdf/jcr:content/translations/en.DM00031020.pdf ) and on page 994 the Table 146 clearly states that when the bits M (length = 8bits) and PCE (parity = None) are reset, the UART frame will be: Start Bit, 8 data bits, Stop Bit.Why is MCU sending only 7 bits when no parity is enabled? So I decided to enable parity in CubeMX and set it to Even. However, the parity bit just tak

Posted on June 07, 2017 at 20:18 Hi guys, I am running into some timing issue using CubeMX, probably after upgrading to the latest version. A couple of weeks ago I noticed my SysTick running roughly twice as fast as expected (half of 1ms) so I changed my 1ms systick to Timer2 which worked fine. Today I turned on my USART3 for the first time at 9600 BAUD and could not get the HyperTerm to receive correctly (all garbage). Then I took a closer look at the signal through the scope and noticed the BAUD was actually at about 23KBAUD, which was weird because I set it in the code as: huart3.Init.BaudRate = 9600; After mucking around I got the HyperTerm to work normally by changing the BAUD setting to: huart3.Init.BaudRate = 4000; // This is actually 9600 BAUD (verified with scope) I have a hunch the BAUD rate issue is related to the SysTick issue.Anyone has this issue or is familiar with CubeMX to give me a clue here? Thanks, ED Note: this post was migrated and contained many thr

Posted on July 31, 2017 at 23:37I'm using CubeMX with the STM32F469IIT and trying to select 32-bit wide SDRAM using the FMC but the options only show 8 or 16-bit.Is this correct? I can't see anything in the reference manual about the LQFP176 not being able to do 32-bits. It works for other 469 chips.Thanks.#cube-mx #fmc

Posted on July 28, 2017 at 18:16in my function, several heap pointers are defined like thiswhen I comment the 111 line. the whole code works well. But when I add this line, the pointer Test_feature, ZeroCenter_Parameters, C1K,C1B will all, or sometimes partly, point to 0x000000.eventually in 2 debug with the same code, it may different.so the Question is:In general, What will let the Heap pointer point to 0x00000? before free.for my observation, the heap size is enough on my project (HEAP SIZE=0x8000, the same as stack size). I'm using STM32F746NG-Discovery Board so the RAM Space(at least 240KB for algorithm) is also enough. So it may be the problem of the IDE or Compiler? My environment:   KeilV523, STM32F746NG-Disco, Win10 Edu.for more general situation. this code.void heaptest(){ int *a; a=(int*)malloc(1024*4); int i=1024; while(i--) { *a=i;//printf(''%d'',*a); a++; }free(a);}0x08004468 BD10      POP    &nb

Posted on April 28, 2017 at 20:51Hello, writing support library for my dev board, and i run into the problem.I have simple txt file generated by Print_SD() function. If this function is called from mains, it does produce TEST.TXT file, no problemsBut if i map this function to GPIO interrupt, and call Print_SD() function from IRQ program, it simply hangs. It looks like it is preventing functions to be executed:void SDIO_IRQHandler(void);void SD_SDIO_DMA_IRQHANDLER(void);How can i fix this ? SDIO does have higher priority, so why it should hang ?void NVIC_Config(void) //SDIO{  NVIC_InitTypeDef NVIC_InitStructure;  /* Configure the NVIC Preemption Priority Bits */  NVIC_PriorityGroupConfig(NVIC_PriorityGroup_1);  NVIC_InitStructure.NVIC_IRQChannel = SDIO_IRQn;  NVIC_InitStructure.NVIC_IRQChannelPreemptionPriority = 0;  NVIC_InitStructure.NVIC_IRQChannelSubPriority = 0;  NVIC_InitStructure.NVIC_IRQChannelCmd = ENABLE;  NVIC_Init(&NVIC_InitStructu

Posted on July 28, 2017 at 14:40It appears from the (rather lacking) documentation that the DMA Double Buffer Mode is only a Peripheral to Memory transaction. Is this correct? Or can I use double buffering from memory to peripheral?

Posted on July 28, 2017 at 14:50I am trying to use STemWin 532 on a STM32f467 board. I created a framewin with 4 buttons using GuiBuilder and ran the application, but the display is scrambled. This is how a framewin with 4 buttons looks like on my display : https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-2BPm8Fn6lwVzlfZXEzM29pbG8.I've also attached my 'main.c' and framewin source files. I tried adding an osDelay after GUI_Exec() but it did not work.Any help is greatly appreciated.

Posted on July 30, 2017 at 15:59Playing around with timer/counters, trying to learn things. When I use HAL_TIM_OC_Start_IT, the callback HAL_TIM_OC_DelayElapsedCallback gets called at the appropriate time. The counter continues on happily about its way, and when it rolls over, shouldn't I expect to also get a callback for PeriodElapsed?

Posted on July 26, 2017 at 09:50Hi,I'm using STM32F427ZI with FreeRTOS.I am configuring both ADC1 and ADC3 to run using DMA, but I'm getting different behavior between them. This is the configuration for ADC3, ADC1 is configuration the same:ADC1 is configured to use DMA2 Stream 0, and ADC3 is configured to use DMA2 Stream 1.This is configuration of DMA for ADC3. The configuration is the same for the DMA for ADC1.After calling all init functions of the ADC and the DMA, I call the ADC Start DMA function:result = HAL_ADC_Start_DMA(&hadc3, (uint32_t*)(adc3SamplesArray), 3);If I call the function for ADC1, the DMA performs as expected and the callback is called. If I call the function for ADC3, no call back is called, and the DMA doesn't seem to be doing anything. What am I missing?#adc #dma

Posted on July 26, 2017 at 17:00Hello all, I am trying to set 2 ALARMS that will wake up my MCU. I want to set ALARM A to wake up the MCU at time X and set ALARM B to wake up the MCU at time X+Y. When i set both of the ALARMS only the first ALARM works. I am able to get 2 alarms working if i set the first one and then after the MCU wakes up from standby i set the second one (in this case it works only if i set both of the ALARMS as ALARM A/ALARM B - doesnt work if i set it with ALARM A and after the wakeup as ALARM B). My question is is it possible to set ALARM A for time X and then set ALARM B for time X+Y and then wake up the MCU 2 times from standby mode, one time with the first ALARM and another time with the second ALARM ??

Posted on July 19, 2017 at 16:49Hi. I was running CubeMx4.21.0 and upgrade for 4.22.0This meant an upgrade on the F1 family from 1.4.0 to 1.6.0 (may 2017)have a bootloader configured, so debug should align to 0x8004000 On the new version everything builds just fine it seems like the its ok,howeverIn STM32SystemWorkbench debug mode, the debugger is now starting at 0x8000000. If I use git to specifically roll back the ONLY STM32F1xx_HAL_Driver  folder, then debug works just fine. Im guessing there is a define somewhere that causes eclipse to debug from the default location and it is looking for a parameter that is now new-or-missing on the new driver. Any ideas why it works on 1.4 and not 1.6? /David#stm32f1 #cubemx-4.22 #system-workbench

Posted on July 28, 2017 at 20:16HelloI'm using a Nucleo-F413ZH board with System Workbench for STM32, Currently I try to startup the FSMC Interfcae 16 Bit for my QVGA Display with SSD2119. I config the Ports and the FSMC peripheral OK DB15 (PD10 is not Connected on Nucelon Board here I made a wire connection to the µC) . FSMC is located to Bank1 D0 - D15 are ok, but on D14 connected on PD9 I measure a permanent high, can anyone imagine why? I check my soldering contact on PD10 with a microscope and everything looks good. Thanks for your helpDaniel
