Solved

Posted on September 22, 2017 at 15:55Hi, All!I have made a board with STM32H743 (ES32H743 rev.Z datecode 633) and ported quite a big STM32F746 project to STM32H743. The works is not yet finished, but I have some questions and information that can be useful for others, so I want to share it. Problem:DMA2D hangs reading data from the ASIB which actively exchanges data with the other(s) AMIB(s).Reproduction:Arrange Cortex-M7 core to actively use AXI SRAM or FLASH A (probably other slaves can be used, but were not checked). Arrange DMA2D to read data from the same slave (AXI SRAM or FLASH A). You should see DMA2D hangs in a short time. Debugger shows the START bit in DMA2D CR register remains set, but no flags are set in the DMA2D ISR register, and DMA2D do nothing (requested operation is not executed).Solution:Setting bit 0 (READ_ISS_OVERRIDE) in the AXI_INI5_FN_MOD register completely solves the above problem:*((__IO uint32_t*)0x51046108) = 0x1;There is also another problem with DMA2D.

Posted on September 25, 2017 at 10:31Hello! Have some problem with UART on STM Nucleo L476RG. We need to transmit bytes from Nucleo to Raspberry (needed to output in program on Raspberry count-speed; it depends on frequency on Nucleo, that we want to transmit from Nucleo to Raspberry). But it doesn't work (though we can transmit (write() raspberry function) bytes from Raspberry to Nucleo; and we have similar sample of read() function). So can you help with this problem?#uart #usart

Posted on September 22, 2017 at 13:31Hi Madam/Sir, We have designed a prototype board based on STM32F767VG. It is configured to work for a couple of seconds (take a picture, send it via UART) and go to sleep (so that it consumes the least power). Initially I was able to program and debug the controller without any issues using all the tools mentioned below. But after a couple of days the programming became erratic. At times I was able to program the board but most of the time I'll get an error. I have used both, ST-Link V1 and STM32 Nucleo-144 development board to program the prototype but both fails.  Softwares Used:IDE: IAR Embedded Workbench 8.11Tools Used: ST Visual Programmer 3.4, STM32 ST-Link Utility 4.1Programmer Used: ST-Link V1, STM32 Nucleo-144 Errors: 'ST-Link Connection Error', 'ST-Link Error' I'm ready to share the technical details of the project. I'm not sure what is needed to find out the problem. I would be obliged if someone could shed some light

Posted on September 25, 2017 at 21:42I've got a bug with the text of the Edit box. It show's strange chars or drawings, maybe another language font. I'm using the emwin with the SSD2119 driver. All other fixed texts and labels are correct (see the attached images). Does some one have an idea why this happens?I've used the same code with ILI9341 and worked perfectly.  Using:  STemWin532_CM4_Keil  STM32F4-DISCOVERY  SSD2119 LCD DRIVER    Not using any RTOS.Thank you in advance.

Posted on September 25, 2017 at 10:45Hi.In the STM32F103, I'd like to control PA14, PA15 pin to I/O, But It's not controlling as my mind. When I checked that with reference document, I found the below information.I think If I want to use PA14 and PA15, then I have to do something. If I want to use PA14 and PA15, what am I supposed to do?

Posted on September 23, 2017 at 05:45I am using LIS3MDL sensor and I do not understand the sensitivity which its unit is LSB/Gauss.  In x-cube-mems1 library, the following is calculated:&sharpdefine LIS3MDL_MAG_SENSITIVITY_FOR_FS_4G    0.14 /**< Sensitivity value for 4 gauss full scale [mgauss/LSB] */&sharpdefine LIS3MDL_MAG_SENSITIVITY_FOR_FS_8G    0.29 /**< Sensitivity value for 8 gauss full scale [mgauss/LSB] */&sharpdefine LIS3MDL_MAG_SENSITIVITY_FOR_FS_12G    0.43 /**< Sensitivity value for 12 gauss full scale [mgauss/LSB] */&sharpdefine LIS3MDL_MAG_SENSITIVITY_FOR_FS_16G    0.58 /**< Sensitivity value for 16 gauss full scale [mgauss/LSB] */and in the datasheet:My question is how did they calculate the sensitivity in the above code? and also what does LSB/Gauss mean? Thanks in advance. #lsb/gauss #lis3mdl

Posted on September 22, 2017 at 10:14Hi everybody! I'm using the input capture digital filter function of TIM15 on STM32F070CB. I need to filter out pulses shorter than 1.5ms and I want to keep FCLK at 48MHz.Problem is, in this case, I can't have a TIM15 timer clock slower than 6MHz (div/16*2), then divided by 4 (max.) with CKD=10, then using fDTS/32 with 8 samples (max.). This gives a period of 170us, which is definitely too short for me.I tried to use TIM3 as prescaler for TIM15, but it doesnt seem to work because fDTS is directly taken from fCK_INT (see AN4776), which cannot come from TIM3 (only CK_PSC of TIM15 can come from TIM3).Any idea of configuration allowing filtering out pulses shorter than 1.5ms while keeping FCLK=48MHz?Many thanks!!!Corentin#stm32f0-input-filter

Posted on September 24, 2017 at 08:01I'm about to start implementing driving a single GPIO pin with DMA timer-driven bit-banging and I have a bunch of questions. I'm throwing them out here first in case people know the answers to some (or all) of them and so can save time on discovering things the hard way. I don't expect anyone to do my work or research for me - I'm prepared to bash my head against the wall and find out everything the hard way, but would appreciate any insights people have. To give back to the community, I will update this thread with the answers I discover over the next few days as the project progresses to completion.1) (Not directly relevant to this project, but I am interested in the answer anyway) - Is it better to use a timer event to trigger the peripheral (let's say a DAC) directly to pull data via a DMA request or to use the timer interrupt to generate a DMA request to push data to the peripheral? Is one more temporally cor

Posted on September 23, 2017 at 15:43I have a firmware.dfu and firmware.hex file generated for the STM32L476RG. When I use dfu-util and upload the file the system doesn't work, if I use my segger jtag interface and uses SWD to upload the firmware.hex file everything works as expected. I noticed that some of the code seems to work when using dfu-util, however it looks like a flash sector or so is missing or corrupted. If it is a problem, is there an errata sheet or something about it?Regards,Roland#l476 #dfu

Posted on September 15, 2017 at 10:26Hi all,I connected STEVAL-MKI137V1 (Magnometer sensor) to STM32L152D-EVAL through I2C. The library I am using is from STM32CubeExpansion_MEMS1_V4.0.0.I connected I2C pins to PB11 and PB10 without any external resistors on STEVAL-MKI137V1 side. The problem is weird for me. Most of the times the code do not work, it give error like Acknowledge Failure, and sometimes the code works very well without any error! What is the expected reason of this problem? How can I solve it?Note: is the problem related to external pull-up resistors? Because I did not use them. Thanks in advance.#steval-mki137v1 #i2c

Posted on March 26, 2017 at 14:09Hi,I want to use Timer with Quadrature Encoder. I'm new on STM32 so I'm trying to start with Cube and HAL.I'm able to setup STM32F411 to count pulses but there is an only 16bit counter. I need to measure pulses up to 400k.Can I rise interrupt on counter overflow to store revolutions? I want to do this using Cube and HAL. I was trying a lot of settings and interrupts but I'm unable to get interrupt from an encoder. Can you help me?Thanks in advance.Steve#cube #cube-mx #quadrature-encoder #stm32-cube #stm32f411 #quadrature

Posted on September 21, 2017 at 13:19 I spent 3 hours debugging this. I'm using STM32L051 with FreeRTOS (initial code generated by STM32CubeMX v4.1). GCC version is the one that's coming with Ubuntu 04 by default: ~$ arm-none-eabi-gcc --version arm-none-eabi-gcc (15:4.9.3+svn231177-1) 4.9.3 20150529 (prerelease) Copyright (C) 2014 Free Software Foundation, Inc. This is free software; see the source for copying conditions. There is NO warranty; not even for MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. I'm using the -Os optimization flag. I can't turn off the optimization because the binary ends up being bigger than my flash. I faced strange hard fault errors with some values of my tasks' stack sizes. After some debugging I realized that the top of the stack address of some of my tasks was invalid. Some more debugging and I found the offending part. Look at this line of the function prvInitialiseNewTask in tasks.c of FreeRTOS' code where the pxTopOfStack variable c

Posted on September 21, 2017 at 16:40Hello,I am working on Project which have ST25TA02K-PC6H5 as a portion. I am seeing that interface between MCU and the NFC is the GPIO pin only.Neither have I2C nor SPI.  With the GPIO pin, How can I read/write the NFC registers? Have I selected wrong part? Please suggest. Thanks,Muthu

Posted on September 22, 2017 at 10:17Morning everyone,I was initially using a DMA via SPI to communicate with an ADC, although my design has shifted slightly and ill be using two fast I/O GPIO pins on the nucleo f446re to read in data coming from two outputs of an adc (parallel). I'd like to know if there is any way for me to configure the DMA to capture data from the GPIO pins. The ADC has its own clock that will be sent to the nucleo to inform it (via interrupt) when a new bit is present on the GPIO pins. So essentially have the nucleo read both pins(the data will be present pretty much simultaneously on both) and use the dma to route it to memory. If the F446re can't do this, can any other nucleo.?Also the Stm32f446re has a flexible memory controller, is this usable on the nucleo f446re?Cause I think I might require more storage than the available SRAM and would like to couple more onto the nucleoThanks in advance for any help!#dma-transfer #stm32f4 #double-buffer-dma #dma-adc

Posted on September 22, 2017 at 10:32Hi,I have a question which i'm not able to find an understandable answer in the datasheet. The STM32L4 seems to have an Error Correction Code function embedded inside its Flash memory.According to an ST powerpoint, the embedded ECC is 8 bits long for a 64-bits word and can detect up to 2 errors on the same 64-bits word but just correct one of these. If an error is detected and/or corrected, the ECCC bit is set in FLASH_ECCR register. My questions are : Do I have to initialize and start this feature by software? Can I catch an interrupt when an error is detected or do I have to check the FLASH_ECCR register by myself? When the ECC check is made ? I mean, the memory address will be checked when I want to access it or anything else? Thanks a lot if you can answer me.

Posted on September 21, 2017 at 23:49Hi all, today I started a new project using the LIS2DH accelerometer (I2C mode). Previously I already used, very successfully, LIS3DH, always in I2C mode. Seeing the datasheets, in the basic functionatity, LIS2DH and LIS3DH are pratically the same object (the LIS3DH has just 3 extra ADC channels...): same registers, same setup and, theorically, same I2C Address, (0x18 when SA0 = 0, 0x19 when SA0 = 1). So, I was expect an easy porting of my code because, I repeat, theorically, LIS2DH and LIS3DH, are the same device. Theorically!I don't know why, but using 0x18 (my SA0 is 0) the LIS2DH do not comunicates. I was going crazy: I do three times a rework of the pcb (I was thinking that maybe the problem was the board): nothing, nothing and nothing. So I had this idea: I checked all I2C's space address, from 0x00 to 0x7F. I got no response, as previously, at 0x18 but, incredible, I got a response at 0x29.Mmmm...very strange but...Ok, I updated my .c library

Posted on September 21, 2017 at 07:15Hi,In my project I use CMSIS Ethernet library and use USART as communication channel to talk with other boards. All function work perfectly but after adding FLASH_ReadOutProtection to protect my micro-processor it's execution speed decrease (for example before enabling ReadOutProtection it could process each received Ethernet package less than 50ms but after that it takes more time(about 4times more) to process a simple package.what's wrong with ReadOutProtection ?Thanks#stm32f10x #stm32f10x-flash

Posted on September 20, 2017 at 13:06Hi,I'm trying to setup our new PCB with a STM32F469IGH6 MCU.Our software includes a RealTime OS and some User Defined Modules as Testsoftware. The Firmware formerly was written for the STM32F469 Discovery Board and I ported it to our new PCB. So I just deactivated IOs.Unfortunatelly not all. But I think the main problem was the Clock Configuration. I didn't change it and now I think that the Clock is configured far to high.HSE = 25MHzPLL_M = 8PLL_N = 360PLL_P = 2So I get a System Clock of about 560MHz.The HSE on the Discovery Board ist at 8MHz. So I get a Systemclock of 180MHz on the Discovery Board. The problem now is, that I cannot connect to the CPU anymore.I use JLink and in Keil µVision I got this Output:Header 1JLink info:------------DLL: V6.20a, compiled Sep 15 2017 18:04:38Firmware: J-Link Ultra V4 compiled Sep 15 2017 17:51:02Hardware: V4.00S/N : 504400261 Feature(s) : RDI, FlashBP, FlashDL, JFlash, GDB  * JLink Info: TotalIRLen = 9, I

Posted on July 16, 2017 at 13:08 Hi to all At first let me say that i'm a newbie ,an old newbie. I'm trying to add a SPI display to LoRa board based on STM32L072CZ I have used STM32CubeMx to select the pins, clock and so on,the programming enviroment is the AC6 Workbench, i was encouraged to use the Hal libraries, and so i did. Once the simple project was generated i added in the code a call to a simple blocking SPI function(despite i set SPI interrupt handler in Cube MX) while (1) { Delay(10); HAL_SPI_Transmit(& hspi2, my_pdata, 4, 10); /* USER CODE END WHILE */ /* USER CODE BEGIN 3 */ } /* USER CODE END 3 */ }?????????????????????? I can see the data and the clock, but the SPI_NSS pin PB12 stays low. On the schematic it looks that it has to do with T_SWD IO_IN. Does this mean that PB12 is not available? If i check in the I/O register window ,PB12 results assigned to MODE2,as the other SPI2 pins are. What can i do or check to un
