I am trying to setup FreeRTOS for the new STM32N6 Nucleo board. Running into the following error `GCC/ARM_CM55_NTZ/non_secure/port.c:1814: undefined reference to `__privileged_sram_start__'`.Based on https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/x-cube-freertos/blob/main/Projects/NUCLEO-N657X0-Q/Applications/FreeRTOS_MPU/README.md#notes, it looks like I am missing some linker files. The example itself has it defined at https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/x-cube-freertos/blob/main/Projects/NUCLEO-N657X0-Q/Applications/FreeRTOS_MPU/EWARM/stm32n657xx_axisram2_fsbl.icf#L80 . But looks to be using EWARM whereas I am using CubeIDE. How can I define/find these linker files needed for the privileged calls?

Hi All,I'm using STM32G4 with TIM1 for motor control. The BKIN hardware protection works correctly - when I pull the BKIN pin (PB10) low, the motor stops, and when high, it runs again with AOE enabled. However, the break interrupt never fires and HAL_TIMEx_BreakCallback is never called. I've verified that TIM1_BRK_TIM15_IRQHandler exists in stm32g4xx_it.c, NVIC is enabled. The break flag never gets set even though BKIN is functioning. What could prevent the break flag from being set while the hardware break feature still works?I want to print diagnostic using BKIN callback routing but it doesn't work.I've attached IOC timer configurations.Best regards

Using Nucleo-U545RE-Q, SPI2 Full-duplex Master, default GPIO selected by STM32CubeMX v6.15.0 with LL selected for implementation.Config clock for max 160 MHz and prescale SPI by 8 for 20 Mbps. Add GPDMA Ch2/3 for SPI2 TX/RX.I double checked the output configuration code generated by the CubeMX against the Cube_FW_H5_V1.5.0 Examples_LL: SPI_TwoBoards_FullDuplex_DMA_Master_Init, and it matches exactly but for peripheral selection. Jumper-wire PC1-to-PC2 (CN7.36-to-CN7.35) for simple SPI loop-back test. With this configuration, the loop-back works when I implemented the SPI full-duplex transfer by LL blocking code. But trying to use the GPDMA channels results in no data, no DMA IRQ for TC or DTE, no SPI IRQ for anything. Below is the simple code to try to get a transfer going, there is initialization code that enables all SPI and DMA interrupt sources and handles the IRQ by clearing the flag and setting the local global booleans that you see below. Note that this is setup f

Dear ST Team, I'm trying to deploy models on STM32N6570-DK, and there is the issue:Followed tutorial below:stm32ai-modelzoo-services/object_detection/docs/README_DEPLOYMENT_STM32N6.md at main · STMicroelectronics/stm32ai-modelzoo-servicesEncountered error message below:(st_zoo) PS C:\Users\ricky\git\stm32ai-modelzoo-services\object_detection> python stm32ai_main.py --config-path ./src/config_file_examples/ --config-name deployment_n6_ssd_mobilenet_v2_fpnlite_config.yaml C:\Users\ricky\anaconda3\envs\st_zoo\lib\site-packages\mlflow\utils\requirements_utils.py:12: UserWarning: pkg_resources is deprecated as an API. Where can I find the meaning of the returns from connectDfuBootloader? I'm getting -16 back and would like to know what it means.

Hello,I configured TIM1 as shown in the attached image: Everything works as expected I am controlling an inductive load which oscillates heavily after the PWM is turned off. I therefore decided to immediately short the low-side MOSFET (CH1N) to ground if a BREAK or BREAK2 signal is received. I set the Channel Idle State to SET. And the behavior of BREAK/BREAK2 changed. As seen in the close-up:: A low state on BK2 does not set a high state on CH1N. Should BK1 and BK2 not be ORed?

Hello, I expect this to be flagged before but couldnt find during search. Is Table 116 for the stm32f43xx on page 768 missing registers for CRYP_K2LR / CRYP_K2RR at offset 0x30? TIA

I have started a new project using STM32H573. This is using the following:Cube MX 6.16Cube IDE 2.0 - Build: 26820_20251114_1348 (UTC)The project has secure zone enabled. I have written bare metal code and shown I can run/debug code in the non-secure environment without issues, and I can invoke non-secure callable functions etc.My problem comes when I add Free RTOS and enable CMSIS RTOS v2 to the non-secure side. When I build, I get linker errors (see below). When I search the forums, there have been similar issues raised, but most are quite old posts or seem overly complex (which always worries me)``C:/Users/531023/git/TEML20/Monitor/NonSecure/Debug/../Core/Src/app_freertos.c:86:(.text.MX_FREERTOS_Init+0xa): undefined reference to `osThreadNew' C:/ST/STM32CubeIDE_1.18.0/STM32CubeIDE/plugins/com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.externaltools.gnu-tools-for-stm32.13.3.rel1.win32_1.0.100.202509120712/tools/bin/../lib/gcc/arm-none-eabi/13.3.1/../../../../arm-none-eabi/bin/ld.exe: ./Core/Src/app_free

I've been struggling with this problem for several hours.Using bare metal, I can invoke a non-secure callable from the non-secure application. When I added FreeRTOS + CMSIS RTOS v2 wrapper, and try to do the same from a thread context, I get a hard fault when I try to invoke the non-secure callable (see below)I would assume this is related to the thread stack. I am using the following:Cube MX 6.16Cube IDE Version: 2.0.0 Build: 26820_20251114_1348 (UTC)In the secure project is secure_nsc.c, I define my API: CMSE_NS_ENTRY void ToggleBackLight(void) { HAL_GPIO_TogglePin(BACKLIGHT_GPIO_Port, BACKLIGHT_Pin); } In the non-secure project, I invoke this from a thread as follows:/* Private application code --------------------------------------------------*/ /* USER CODE BEGIN Application */ typedef void (*SecureFunc_t)(void) __attribute__((cmse_nonsecure_call)); void doBlinkyThread(void *argument) { /* USER CODE BEGIN defaultTask */ SecureFunc_t secure_func = (SecureFu

I got a hard time comprehending about the two interrupt lines in the manual. I can really see a "connection" between certain sources to the interrupt lines, nor can i find a register to connect them. It seems to me, that i only can decide what interrupts will fire, and what interrupt line they will go to then. But i cant think of, how i could have both interrupt lines running in paralell. I think i missed something. Is there a better information about this out there?

Hi,I am trying to add FreeRTOS to my project.Board = Nucleo-U5A5ZJ-QTrustzone = enabledFreeRTOS = in non-secure project  I have Trustzone enabled, therefore a secure and a non-secure project is generated by CubeMX. I added FreeRTOS in the non-secure project. Hello. Please forgive a 'newbie' question. Whilst I am new to STM32 chips I have been programming MCUs for many years which makes this problem even more frustrating.I wrote a program which I then uploaded onto a Bluepill (genuine processor) using CubeIDE v1.16.0 (and later Cube Prog v2.17 as a standalone) and the STLink V2 interface with the most up to date firmware.  The program didn't run so I assumed that it was something that I was doing wrong (it probably still is).  I went back to basics and viewed several 'tutorials' on YouTube.  I then set up a minimal program to flash the onboard LED at PC13.  I left all the settings of the IDE as they came when the IDE was installed.  I set PC13 as a GPIO output and left all the rest of the GPIO settings as they were. I used HAL_GPIO_WritePin to write directly to the pin with HAL_Delay as the delay mechanism.  So four lines of code in total all placed after the /* Infinite loop */ /* USER CODE BEGIN WHILE */ whil

Hello ST Team, I registered for the upcoming STM32 Summit | Workshops in Bengaluru (December 5, 2025) more than 8 days ago using my email address, but I have not yet received the official invitation or confirmation mail. Since the event date is approaching quickly, I wanted to check if there is any additional step I need to complete, or if my registration is still under review. Could you please confirm my status or guide me on how to proceed? Details: Name: Abhilash Maddineni Registration date: Nov 21, 2025 Thank you for your support. I am eager to participate in the Summit and don’t want to miss out due to a pending invitation. Best regards

Just received my X-NUCLEO board and I am trying to discover what the default firmware is on the shipped boards? The getting started guide appears to suggest one needs to program the module. Sid

Hello,I am using the ST25R3916B reader on a custom board to read NFC-A cards. I first experimented on the X-Nucleo-nfc08a1 expansion board connected to esp32-s3 devkit. I modified the RFAL library a bit to fit my needs and kept most registers at their default values. With this setup I was able to communicate with an NFC-A card perfectly. On my custom board, which is powered by 3V, I am able to communicate with the reader: read IC ID, read/write registers, receive interrupts. But I still haven't been able to communicate with the card. I receive no ATQA for my REQA. In fact no rxs or rxe interrupts are being raised (txe interrupt is being raised after sending direct command Send REQA). Code used on X-nucleo-nfc08a1 and custom board are exactly the same, except they have different SDA and IRQ pins.I am still checking out the hardware design to check for any issues, especially with the antenna matching circuit. In the mean time I wanted to check a few other things:1. I receive an oscil

I was able to install and open the STMCubeIDE for my macbookpro with M1 apple silicon. But cannot obtain .iop files as the STMCubeMX plugins .mx and .mcu do not unpack and get installed. I have checked my firewall and any blockages created by mac but nothing is being blocked in quarantine or privacy as well. I tried to completely delete and reinstall the software 5 times but nothing is working. As the plugins are default no manual intervention can be done as well. Please help!

Hello I have a code use CAN on a stm32U585 he work fine if the CAN bus have not disturbance But if i have to many disturbance for exemple if i make a short circuit bethen CANH and CANL when i remove the short circuit the CAN no restart to send data. I need stop and restart CAN   HAL_FDCAN_Stop(&hfdcan1); HAL_FDCAN_Start(&hfdcan1); After the disturbance, the return value of HAL_FDCAN_GetState() and HAL_FDCAN_GetError() remains unchanged.   How can I immediately know when there is a problem with CAN

So here is a weird thing I've noticed with a STM32U073... CubeMX shows that this CPU has the "Trace Asynchronous SW" option, but for this mcu it is no longer listed under SYS, but under its own category: "Trace and Debug" -> "DEBUG". Anyway, after enabling it, the signal shows up on the graphical pinout, with the name "DEBUG_JTDO-SWO". This is pretty much the same as i was used to with other STM32 mcu's. So when i was designing a PCB for this new STM32U073 MCU i assumed it had support for SWO (or SWV or whatever the name is). But now when I'm trying to debug this MCU, the debugger doesn't allow me to enable "Serial Wire Viewer (SWV)" in the debug configuration properties of STM32CubeIDE. The option is just greyed out. So I did some more digging in the datasheet for the STM32U0, and I'm starting to wonder if it even has support for SWO/SWV?  Can anyone enlighten me? Is this just a problem with the debug config in STM32CubeIDE, or does the STM32U0 have no SWO/

Hello All,I am working on STM32H747I-EVAL for one of the application development where I am using the uart for communication. I am using UART2 with below pins for my commands and response communication with interrupt mode on 115200 baudrate.    PA2   as USART2_TX    PA3  as USART2_RX I am able to send and receive proper command and response using the Docklight can see the communication happening between Docklight and STM32H747I-EVAL  using CM7 on USART2.  When I am trying the same with other STM controller to send and receive the same packets, I am not able to receive the packet from other STM controller, though I am able to see the USART2_TX working(Command send from STM32H747I-EVAL to other STM and it is responding back with some data), now here I am not able to receive the Data (which works with Docklight).  Could you please suggest why or how to get this fix ? Any suggestions or trie

STM32Cube MCU Package for STM32U0 Series 1.3.0  + STM32CubeMX 6.15.0 + STM32U083RCT6You can configure the SWO output in the configurator (CubeMX), but in fact, SWO is not present in the microcontroller.

Hi There,I am using a STM32G0 Nucleo MB1455C board with STM32G031K8 processor.Firmware loads ok through USB and runs as intended. For my target application I want to power the board from a 5V supply. According to the user manual that should be possible without any changes to the solder bridges on the board. However when I connect 5V to CN4 pin 4 the red power LED LD2 lights up, 3V3 is present but the processor does not start. It runs when I put 8V onto the Vin pin (CN4 pin 1).This feels like a configuration issue, but the manual seems to indicate this is not needed. A schematic would go a long way, but I could not find one for this board.Any idea what needs to change for the 5V power input to work?Appreciate your assistance.Regards, Peter

Hello, I wrote a program to test the CAN bus.In its current version, I am using standard CAN at 1 Mb with 8-byte frames.I transmit 16 frames with a 5 ms delay between each transmission. To identify the last frame in the block, I send a frame with a zero data length I am facing several issues. When I configure the CAN bus in INTERNAL_LOOPBACK mode, if I do not enable automatic retransmission, some frames that are reported as successfully transmitted are not received. In NORMAL mode, no frame is flagged as an error on the transmitting Nucleo board, but some frames are never received on the receiving Nucleo, while others are received multiple times. The last issue is that I can only communicate up to 4 Mb. At 8 Mb, transmission and reception errors are reported.

Dear STMicroelectronics Support Team,I am currently working on a project that uses the STM32F091CBU6 microcontroller. Could you please confirm the current lifecycle status of this part and provide any available information regarding its projected End-of-Life (EOL) date or Product Change Notifications (PCNs)?Additionally, if there is a recommended migration path or alternative part for long-term availability, kindly share those details.Thank you for your assistance.Best regards,Ramanakrishnan A

Dear STM Community,I'm familiar with the STM32CubeMX and the STM32CubeIDE, and I began discovering a motor control evaluation kit.The default project generated with the motor control SDK does not compile with default settings (even without touching an option), even though Cube was able to generate a project, and switched miiediately to the IDE. Most of the files were missing, so I had to manually re-import the whole directory structure, and adding all folders with header files in. I never experienced such a problem with a project directly created with the CubeMX.I've updated all STM tools to the latest version, tried to remove and re-download some STM firmware packages, I got further in the compile process, and stuck at a missing speed_duty_ctrl.h header, awhich I was not able to locate on my computer. In the Motor Control Workbench, I selected STM32CubeIDE as target platform, with matching version numbers for the CubeMX.STM32CubeIDE version: 2.0.0STM32CubeMX version: 6.15.0Mo
