I am trying to implement I2C communication with L432KC (bare metal coding) to interface peripherals like port expander, eeprom. But I am having a hard time figuring out the TIMING register. I have several questions:tPRESC = (PRESC+1) x tI2CCLKThis is a simple one but I just wish to confirm. The I2CCLK corresponds to the standard frequency like 100khz, 400khz etc or my APB peripheral clock? I am leaning towards one of the standard frequencies since RM has mentioned peripheral clock as fPCLK in other parts.2. There are several of these bits fields in this register, take this one for example:Bits 15:8 SCLH[7:0]: SCL high period (master mode)This field is used to generate the SCL high period in master mode.tSCLH = (SCLH+1) x tPRESCNote: SCLH is also used to generate tSU:STO and tHD:STA timing.By "used to generate", does it imply Setup and Hold timing of STOP and START (respectively) are equal to tSCLH ?3. How does the CubeMX and the xls file provided by ST calculate bit values by taking ri

HelloI am trying to encode an image of (160*120) in grayscale format - i.e a bmp file of 1bpp color depth.Unfortunately, the encoder would not finish its conversion. and the `HAL_JPEG_EncodeCpltCallback` is not called.My setup is based on the `JPEG_EncodingUsingFs_DMA` from ST, while this example is designed for 24bits pixel depth, I tried to modify it for my application - with changing the `ReadBmpRgbLines`to read only 1 color:static void ReadBmpRgbLines(FIL *file, JPEG_ConfTypeDef Conf, uint8_t * pDataBuffer, uint32_t *BufferSize) { uint32_t bytesReadfile = 1; uint32_t CurrentBlockLine = 1; *BufferSize = 0;   while((CurrentLine <= Conf.ImageHeight) && (CurrentBlockLine <= MAX_INPUT_LINES)) { f_lseek (file,BMP_HEADER_SIZE + Conf.ImageWidth *(Conf.ImageHeight - CurrentLine)*1); f_read (file, pDataBuffer , Conf.ImageWidth*1 , (UINT*)(&bytesReadfile));   pDataBuffer += bytesReadfile; *BufferSize += bytesReadfile; CurrentLine +=1 ; CurrentBlock

HiThis is the first time I`m working with STM32 devices apologizes for the beginner questionsI bought an STM32WB55 NucleO Pack (ST part # - NUCLEO-WB55). My intention is to tweak the demo application so that dongle passes same data (readings from internal temperature sensor) to nucleo board. I though I could use USB_USER to download firmware but I don`t think this is the case. With the documentation I could find, ST-LINK is mandatory to flash an firmare even if I don`t want to debug. Q1 : Could you let me know what is the use of USB_USER ?Q2:And what ST-LINK debugger I need so I can download/debug my code ? I can`t find an ST-LINK with Micro-B connector.Obviously I need to change the software in dongle too. And it doesn`t even have an jtag port on it . Q3: What HW do I need to flash/debug dongle software ? I saw a reference to `external Q4 : On the product page I couldn`t find a dedicated getting started doc for this eval board (hence Q1 -Q3) , Is there any document that has

Hi all,Is the source code of the bootloader (that is used to perform application programming over serial interface) available to download?The AN2606 says that "The bootloader is stored in the internal boot ROM memory (system memory) of STM32 devices. It is programmed by ST during production."Best Regards,abaldur

Hi to all!,I try to run a Gui designed with TouchGFX on my hardware ( a Nucleo-F767ZI board and a 7" display with touchscreen).I have created a new c++ project for doing this and I have selected the LL implementations of the periphericals that i use in my project. The first issue that I have noticed are that all files generated have a .c and .h extentions. Also the code generated from the device configuration tool aren't in OO style, but are the standard c style, i don't see any object in this files.However the code generated by the TouchGfx designer are in the OO style.The problem now is that i need to call a c++ function from the c code  (for example the OSWrappers::signalVSync function from my EXTI interrupt routine), and this cause some compile problems. At this point I don't know if I need to implements some wrapper module to call a c++ code or if I have done some error to configure the project.The TouchGFX documentation, don't tell nothing about this, so i'm expect

Hi,I have a NUCLEO-F429ZI board and am trying to get ADC1 to convert one channel (channel 3) when triggered by TIM2 (every second).As I don't have an oscilloscope I wanted to measure the conversion time - to make sure everything is configured correctly - using Segger SystemView.With the code below I set ADCCLK to 22.5 MHz and sample time to 480 clock cycles so I would expect the ADC interrupt to occur roughly 22 µs after the timer interrupt.What I am seeing though is that the ADC interrupt (ISR34) occurs 2.6 µs after the timer ISR (ISR 44) (see screenshot).Quesion: Why is the ADC interrupt so fast?The attached ZIP-file is the complete Segger Studio project, ready to compile.Here's the complete code:/********************************************************************* * SEGGER Microcontroller GmbH * * The Embedded Experts * ********************************************************************** * * * (c) 2014 - 2020 SEGGER Microcontroller GmbH * * * * www.segger.com Support: support@seg

There isn't any PC14 PC15. Is it really inaxessible on this MCU and I'm have to find suitable HSE crystal in order to get high-presition RTC?

Hi guys, I read reference manual for STM32H745/755, where is mentioned that the both CPUs are after reset running on the same clock frequency, because they shared the same clock source and the prescalers are after reset in default state (no division of clock signal). I did stupid test in main loop with blinking LEDs driven separately (each on one core), but they are blinking with different period. I didnt set up anything else, interrupts are not allowed but I cant find the reason of different LEDs blinking period.Thanks a lot for advices!

When I used the STM32CubeMX for the NUCLEO-H743ZI, there's an option to enable NVIC EXTI line[15:10] interrupts for the push button. But when I used the STM32CubeMX for the NUCLEO-H743ZI2 there's no option to enable the EXTI line[15:10] interrupts for the push button. Is this a bug with the STM32CubeMX?

Currently, we are testing whether smoke and fire will occur when adjacent I/O ports are shorted. If the internal structure is the same, we think that a representative set of tests is sufficient. However, if the internal structure is different, then all I/O ports must be tested.Is the I/O port of the STM32F429VET the same from this point of view?

I am adding NFC configuration and energy harvesting capabilities to a product using the M24LR04E-R EEPROM. I purchased the M24LR-Discovery kit so that I could use the transceiver in a proof of concept before developing something on a larger scale. I have played around with the M24LRxx Application to read and write data to the EEPROM, and everything works well. I would like to develop a script in MatLab to do the same thing, before eventually implementing that in a custom windows application. I am just wondering if this is possible and, if so, how to establish communications between the transceiver and MatLab.

Hi all Can anybody help me to get documents for programming SPC584b7 with (CAN OR UART)??

Hello,I would like to buy a X-NUCLEO-NFC03A1 with the chip ST25R95-VMD5T. On ST website, it looks like there is two references of this evaluation board, one with the ST25R95 chip, and another one with the CR95HF chip:   I can't find a supplier for the eval board with the ST25R95 chip. Even on the ST web page, we can find only one reference:Why the nucleo with the st25r95 core is not available ?

We are trying to Rx Bulk short packet (max packet size 4 bytes) at high speed and with low software load by using the USB HOST core of OTG_FS IP mounted on STM32L476.Prerequisite condition・I don't use the code generated by cubemx.・Host and Device connected one-to-one. The ST62T10CB6 is an OTP but the replacement may be any chip with the same footprint. We can edit the program if it will be required.Any idea ?

Hi,I am trying to set up the fast transfer mode with the X-Nucleo-NFC04A1 board and the ST25 NFC app for android. At the moment, the mailbox management as well as writing and reading from the mailbox on the dev-board works fine.Now I want to read the data stored via I2C on the ST25DV with the smartphone. When I tap on "Start transfer" the stopwatch starts and the progress bar works, but I can't find the actual data to verify the transfer.I appreciate your help!

Hello, I have to change the EPC number of a NXP SL3S1203_1213 UCODE G2iL tag (https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/data-sheet/SL3S1203_1213.pdf). Unfortunately, this does not work on the NXP tag. I suspect that I have to do an unlock etc. before I write, but I can't figure it out. Does somebody has any idea?

I am experimenting with timers... I have a list of time values that I want to use to replay a digital signal.What I try to do is to wait for the interrupt of the base timer, then set a new period value, then wait for the next interrupt.But it seems I do something wrong.Timer inithtim6.Instance = TIM6; htim6.Init.Prescaler = 49; htim6.Init.CounterMode = TIM_COUNTERMODE_UP; htim6.Init.Period = 65530; htim6.Init.AutoReloadPreload = TIM_AUTORELOAD_PRELOAD_ENABLE; if (HAL_TIM_Base_Init(&htim6) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); } sMasterConfig.MasterOutputTrigger = TIM_TRGO_RESET; sMasterConfig.MasterSlaveMode = TIM_MASTERSLAVEMODE_DISABLE; if (HAL_TIMEx_MasterConfigSynchronization(&htim6, &sMasterConfig) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); }Timer interupt if(htim->Instance == TIM6){   if(cmd == 1){ HAL_GPIO_TogglePin(IR_SND_GPIO_Port, IR_SND_Pin); // tried without stop/start - did not change HAL_TIM_Base_Stop_IT(&htim6); __HAL_TIM_SET_AUTORELOAD(&

Posted on June 28, 2017 at 20:56Hello all,I am having a difficulty trying to get my STM32F411E-DISCO board to go into DFU mode. After applying power to the mini USB connector (USB ST-LINK), the default program operates. I then want to go into DFU mode so I have the the power cable in the mini USB and a micro USB plugged in for the DFU and I bridge BOOT0 to VDD with a jumper and press RESET and the board will not connect to DFU. All that happens is the main demo program stops operating. Any insight as to why this is happening? I did the exact same thing on my STM32F407G-DISC1 and I can get to DFU without any issue.Any help that can be given will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.#stm32f411e-disco #dfu #stm32f407g-disc1 #dfu-bootloader

I have an STM32F103 configured in slave mode using NSS for slave select and using DMA. I'm using 8 bit mode. When the master starts clocking the STM32F103 it always shifts out the first byte in the buffer twice. So rather than seeing 0xF0, 0xF1, 0xF2, 0xF3, I'm seeing 0xF0, 0xF0, 0xF1, 0xF2 shifted out and then I get the DMA transfer complete interupt.If I call it in 16 bit mode, (and I change the DMA PSIZE and MSIZE to be 16 bits as well) and do a transfer of size 2 ( to get my four bytes) it works perfectly (even though the data is transmitted little endian but I expect that)I've read a whole bunch on this today but not much turned up so I expect it is something I'm doing. I don't really want to use 16 bit transfers as I would have to massage the data so it's in big endian format when tranmitted which wouln't be acceptable.I've also tried 8 bit mode but leaving PSIZE and MSIZE as 16 bits and it shifts out 0xF0, 0xF0, 0xF2, 0xF3.Any ideas?

Hello, I am working with ST25RU3993 Reader and kit's Antenna. Initially, the Reader was able to detect different Tags using different Antennas. Then, by placing the antenna below a wood surface and tags above the wood surface, the ST UHF Reader was not able to detect any Tags. Later, even at normal conditions (without wood and placing all in a plain surface without any interruption) the Reader did not read any Tags, which worked fine before the above told setup made. I feel the Reader is damaged but not Antenna or Tag. Even after updating ST Reader with new ST Firmware Version 2 and ST GUI Version 2, the Reader did not read any Tags. Byconnecting ST Reader with ST GUI, the LEDs (MCU OK, PLL OK, OSC OK, D16/17, EXT_PA, Tuning, Tuned, RF ON) Turns ON but there is NO TAG RESPONSE. Booting or Reseting or Antenna Tuning neither did not work. I would like to know where the problem is. Is it with ST Reader, which can not read between Woods?Kindly help with the same.Thanks.
