Hi, I am facing an problems that I have never seen before with local variables being allocated at the same addresses of global ones. In the attached image I show an example of a local variable with the address of another variable in the STEmwin library (WM_aCHWinLast). The same has already occurred with other global variables, not only with STEmwin. I managed to find some and I was able to solve it by replacing vectors with pointers and allocating their size through customized malloc functions. All STemWin routines work perfectly, only generating the fault in specific executions sequences. The problem seems to be very localized in specific routines, but I don't understand the relationship since the variables are local and should only concern to HEAP memory, which is quite large 0xA000. Other global variables, besides STEwin also appeared with an overlapping address, but these did not generate hardfault. After going through these routines, with overlapping variables, when execu

Hi everyone, I am new to using ARM architecture based microcontrollers and I am having a problem with peripherals and APBs (Advance Peripheral bus). Currently I am using the STM32F429 (NUCLEO-144) board, programming it with the help of the HAL library and the STM32CUBEIDE IDE.The problem is that when I configure timer interrupts to have different time bases I can only use timers that share the same APB, otherwise I can't attend to all interrupts, they seem to block each other.I am using 5 timers, from 2 to 5 which are General Purpose Timers and according to the reference manual they share the same APB (number 1 in this case). It happens that, if I add a timer from another APB2 such as time 9 for example, I can no longer attend to interruptions correctly, I would like to know if you can guide me in solving this problem, which I estimate must be basic, but given my lack of experience it becomes difficult to fix.I am attaching a file in .txt format that saves the content of the main.

I am previously using STM32CubeIde version 1.3.0 and i am able to programme the STWINKT1 development board successfully. while i am debugging suddenly my laptop crashed and when i power on it again now i am getting error. So i uninstall version and download new version 1.4.0 but still i am getting same error.here I attach screen shot of error.I go through some thread and check my debug profile and it is ok the picture of it also uploaded. Can any one help to resolve this issue.I am using windows and board and debugger is ok i tried to programme board from another laptop and its working even if in my laptop i am able to connect to board and erase memory using stlinkV2 utility but issue is with stm32cubeide only

https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STM32CubeL4/tree/master/Projects/B-L475E-IOT01A/Applications/ProximityHi,I was going through the example of promixity sensor of B-L475E-IOT01A board in the github stm32l4cube repository. i compiled the code and debugged it. After dumping the program into my board and while trying to get the values in hyperterminal I get the following error, HardFault_Handler() at stm32l4xx_it.c:61 0x8000882 . to be noted that I got this error only after I entered the command in my hyperterminal to view the sensor values. Can anyone help me with rectifying this Thanks!!!

Attempting to open the example selector from the main window of STM32CubeMX 6.0.1 results in a spinning wheel and the software remains forever stuck, like it's waiting for something. Its next life, maybe, who knows. That's STM32CubeMX 6.0.1 on Linux. Let me know if you need more information.

Hello!I have a swipe container with 3 pages in my TouchGFX app, running on an STM32F469 Discovery Kit. Everything is working fine, but I need to carry out certain actions when a swipe is started / ended. The docs state there are no built-in triggers for touchgfx::SwipeContainter, so I decided to add my code to it.But as soon as I add a field (GenericCallback) and this field's setter method to this class and invoke this method from my code, the UI becomes unresponsive. I guess the app just crashes. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Hi thereI am trying to configure a GPS receiver chip (MAX2769C) with an stm32f446re MCU using SPI in half duplex master mode. The chip is expecting a 32 bit word (4 bits address and 28 bits data). This is on page 21 of the attached datasheet. My first question is how can I transmit a 32 bits word when the maximum bits format that cubemx allows is 16 bits transfer. My second problem is that, I have to generate a clock of exactly 16,384 MHZ to feed the MAX2769C chip (this is not the data clock SCK of the SPI). So I selected MCO1 in cubemx and played around with clock configuration until I got 16.384 MHZ. How is this going to affect the SPI speed? It's my first time asking a question on this platform. Thank you in advance!

Below is my benchmarking of multply-accumulate performance on contiguous memory blocks on the STM32F7508-DK board for three different types of memory (on-chip SRAM, external SDRAM managed by the FMC, and QSPI-connected NOR flash):The horizontal axes give the size of the contiguous memory region operated on, and the vertical axes gives the number of millions of multiply-accumulates per second. One observation that makes sense to me is that performance in all cases drops markedly once the contiguous memory block grows beyond 2^12 B = 4 kiB = the cache size. The primary thing I don't understand is why the external SDRAM performance is so much worse in the small-size region. Can someone elaborate on this? The board, SDRAM and NOR flash are all initialized by the STM32CubeF7's BSP functions and templates for the STM32F7508-DISCO board. While the absolute numbers differ, the overall qualitative behavior is the same across optimization levels from -O0 to -O3.

I have a STM32G030K6T. Right now I can wake up from standby with either wake up pin falling or rising edge. How can I use both of these edges to wake up the device from stand-by?HAL_PWR_EnableWakeupPin documentation says/** * @brief Enable the WakeUp PINx functionality. * @param WakeUpPinPolarity Specifies which Wake-Up pin to enable. *     This parameter can be one of the following legacy values which set *     the default polarity i.e. detection on high level (rising edge): *      @arg @ref PWR_WAKEUP_PIN1, PWR_WAKEUP_PIN2, PWR_WAKEUP_PIN4, *        PWR_WAKEUP_PIN5,PWR_WAKEUP_PIN6 *     or one of the following value where the user can explicitly specify *     the enabled pin and the chosen polarity: *      @arg @ref PWR_WAKEUP_PIN1_H

Hello, I'm working on STM32WB55.Is there any limitation to write to (internal) SD RAM and do a system reset?I want to build an application that requires a lot of writing to SD RAM and then do system reset (and read the SD RAM and act according the data). Thanks,Lior

Hello, I'm designing an interface board with a STM32F469I-DISCO board, and I would like to know the distance between holes and Arduino connectors (CN5, 6, 7, 8), in order to perfectly fit my interface board with the discovery board. The only drawing i found was in the UM1932 document, page 26/30 : https://www.st.com/resource/en/user_manual/dm00218846-discovery-kit-with-stm32f469ni-mcu-stmicroelectronics.pdfBut it doesn't show the precise position of CN5, 6, 7, 8 on the board.Thank you for your help

I'm experimenting with the St25ru3993 eval board on raspberry pi 3 b +. Initially, I downloaded your program called Reader Suite to get the correct parameters. There I entered the parameters to read the tags correctly. Then I imported them into source code. I cannot get the results I got from Reader Suite on Raspberry Pi. My method is as follows: I set the invOption.roundCnt parameter to 0 in the inventory runner function. This will allow him to measure continuously. I know it is scanning the frequency ranges and finishing the loop. What are the factors affecting the duration of the cycle? What if I can speed up the cycle ending? Normally, the measurements I take in 1 round are inaccurate. For this, I write the epc values I get at the end of each loop to a file. The most efficient number as the number of cycles is 50. In the loop, I read the file I transferred the values to. This is going on for a very long time for me. I need to measure more efficiently and read the file in a shor

Hey, iam working with a STM32 L432KC with an ST-Link onboard.Iam am planning to create a PCB with the same chip and iam wondering how i could programm/debug it.I read through the Instructions and i think SWD is the right thing for me.I have a STM L452RE-P laying around. This is Board with a "ST-Link-Section" witch you can break off the PCB. (so you break the PCB in two parts and have the ST-Link part and the microcontroller part )How can i programm/debug my L432KC with that ST-Link part off the L52RE-P?ive found the SWD clock and data pins on the ST-Link part but i dont know where to connect them to the L432. Pin PA14/13 (SWCLK/SWDIO) are not routed to any pins of the PCBThank you!

Hi,I'm resetting the timer without disabling it, i clear the counter register by __HAL_TIM_SET_COUNTER(&htim2, 0);this will reset the htim2.Instance->CNT, which is the counter period, however the timer was set to be count up to (prescalar) * (counter period)I only clear the latter. In my opinion, I should also clear the former, or may causes an small inaccuracy, but I don't know how to clear it, I can't find the counter register of prescalar, any help??Thanks!

Hi everyone,I workin on a project that use STM32F746BG microcontrollers. I completed design and mass production process for PCB's. Now I working on software that use TouchGFX, LWIP, 7 inch Display and many other component for project. But I fulled 320kb of RAM in STM32F746BG now. May I can change microcontroller, without any hardware change? I searched microcontrollers and find STM32F767BG with 520kb RAM. May I use STM32F767BG instead STM32F746BG?I added an image that show used system components in project; Thanks in advance. Be healthy :D

Dear TouchGFX team,After I made 6 items for a scroll list, I made them to show 3 items on a sreen. When I dragged to the top, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd item showed as I expected. And when I dragged to the bottom, I expected the last 3 items ( 4th, 5th and 6th) show on a screen. But just the last item (the 6th) showed in the screen.I want to show the last 3 items in that situation. Is there any option or function to implement it? Or let me know if any other widget to make it.Sorry for my lack of explanation for it. I hope the attached image can be explained more easily. Thanks in advance!!J.Park

I'm using freertos on stm32f407vg Discovery board. I'm running system at 150MHz. I want to calculate time taken by a task for that below is the code snippet. TickType_t initial_time = 0, end_time = 0,diff = 0; initial_time = xTaskGetTickCount();   while(1) { HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOD, GPIO_PIN_12, GPIO_PIN_SET); HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOD, GPIO_PIN_14, GPIO_PIN_SET); vTaskDelay(1000); HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOD, GPIO_PIN_12, GPIO_PIN_RESET); HAL_GPIO_WritePin(GPIOD, GPIO_PIN_14, GPIO_PIN_RESET);   end_time= xTaskGetTickCount(); diff = end_time - initial_time; }I'm getting difference value = 1000 , which is the value of delay. So should I understand that freertos don't count time taken by a other instructions or I'm missing something. Please clarify.

Hello,I need a help in Motor frequency calculation with more precision. I am using STM32F070CB for my application. My requirements are1) Monitor the Motor frequency based on quadrature pulses.2) If Frequency varies by +/-15%, need to process some safety activity within 100 milli seconds.3) find the direction of rotation.Data: Motor nominal frequency is 100Hz ( when motor running at full speed)I have configured TIM3 in Encoder mode in such a way that counter counts in UP/DOWN based on the direction of the motor rotation. I have configured another general purpose timer (TIM6) for 50ms periodic Interrupt. My Idea is to read the Encoder counter value for every 50ms (in TIM6 interrupt) and clear the Encoder counter value. That is, (counter value / 50ms ) is the frequency. The problem here I am facing is, the calculated frequency is fluctuating ( 80Hz to 100Hz ) rarely which allows me in misjudgment for the requirement 2.(Note: My earlier implementation for the same requirement was without usi

In the L6206Q data sheet "Figure 5. Charge pump circuit", AN1762 APPLICATION NOTE "Figure 9. Charge Pump", UM1925 User manual "Figure 11: X-NUCLEO-IHM04A1 circuit schematic", the connection order of Rp and Cp is different. ..In actual operation, the connection order of R/C does not seem to matter so much, but is there a recommended circuit (connection order of Rp and Cp)?

Hello,I would like to use the UART7 with A7 on the STM32MP157C-DK2 with the openstlinux-20-02-19 ecosystem. Therefore i tried to include/enable the UART interface in the device tree but it is not working correctly. I configured UART7 in the stm32mp157a-dk1.dts file by setting the status "okay":&uart7 {   pinctrl-names = "default";   pinctrl-0 = <&uart7_pins_a>;   status = "okay";};and in the stm32mp157.c.dtsi file by setting the status "okay":uart7: serial@40018000 {         compatible = "st,stm32h7-uart";         reg = <0x40018000 0x400>;         clocks = <&rcc UART7_K>;         resets = <&rcc UART7_R>;         status = "okay";      };An alias was alr

Hello,After testing and messing a bit with CubeMonitor, I think that this could be an interesting tool to build test benches, in order to test boards after production, as you could monitor almost everything and trigger events (such as blinking a LED) by writing variables. So my question: is it possible to actually flash the MCU with the elf file using CubeMonitor ? Or would I have to somehow script the flash procedure using CubeProgrammer CLI then start CubeMonitor ? and this way I guess I will have to deal with Monitor & Programmer pre-empting the ST-LINK probe ?Best,Thomas

Creating a template for the STM32F407G-DISC1 project in STM32CubeMX 6.0 (library 1.25). Adding FreeRTOS CMSIS-v1 to the project. Changing the size of the heap and stack to 0x2000/0x4000. Building a project for SW4STM32.In the StartDefaultTask() task, I add HAL_GPIO_TogglePin(LD4_GPIO_Port, LD4_Pin) to the loop. But the program always ends up in HardFault_Handler() after osKernelStart().
