I use `HAL_GPIO_Init()` to configure my GPIO pins, setting my `GPIO_InitTypeDef` structure initially to zero and then configuring the Pin, Mode, Pull and Speed parameters as I require but leaving Alternate at 0 since I do not want an Alternate function, I want a GPIO.This works fine for all of my pins except for pin 0x0f which is pre-assigned to use Alternate function 0 (for JTAG): calling `HAL_GPIO_Init()` as described above does nothing useful for this pin, it never becomes the output I'm trying to make it (the pin remains firmly at 0 V when measured after having been set to high with `HAL_GPIO_WritePin()`). I guess this is because it is by default using Alternate function zero and somehow needs to be told NOT to use that Alternate function, to just be a GPIO please. How do I achieve that? The config settings I am passing to `HAL_GPIO_Init()` to try to set this pin to be an open-drain output are as below. Pin 0x8000 Mode 0x11 Pull 0x00 Speed 0x00 Alt 0x00I've searched these forums

How can i calculate the speed of microcontroller at what speed it can load data using SDIO 1 bit and also SPI? Can I use SPI to load data into memory card. If yes, do i have to use FATFS library to load ? I have an experience working with SDIO, it uses FATFS. Does the speed depend on coding like using f_write and f_printf or does the speed depend on clock speed( HSI) we provide ? where can i get this information? I am looking for the fastest serial communication possible to load the data into memory card at a rate of 20,000 samples/second.

HelloI'm trying to implement the OTA feature in my project. We use the BlueNRG-2 Chip.I'm followed the BLE_Chat example and the explanaition in the The BlueNRG-LP (over-the-air) firmware upgrade document to inlcude all the ota related code parts. When I now try to load a new firmware to the device through the Android application ST BLE Mesh, I see, that on the BLE device some Gatt Attribute modified events are triggered. But right after that, the error Flash verify failure occurs from the OTA_Write_Data function.I did not adjust the BlueNRG2.Id file, do I have to change something in that file? Or can someone give me a hint, what otherwise I could/should adjust? Many thanks.TobiasI just append a part of the BlueNRG2.Id file. The rest have also all the default values./******************************************************************************* * Memory Definitions *******************************************************************************/ /* BlueNRG-2 memory map +------------------

Hi All,I'm playing around with the Timers at the moment on a STM32F303 and currently have TIM2 and TIM6 generating an output pulse on every OC event (different frequency ranges). Those Timer based output toggles are of course somewhat locked to certain pins on the MCU via the GPIO alternate function set up.I would like to duplicate the output pulses on other pins.So for example I have TIM2_CH1 output compare toggle assigned to GPIOA Port 0, is the only way I could duplicate that pulse on another pin (say PA1) would be to do something like this. When the TIM2 Interrupt happens, read the PA0 pin state (which the Timer just toggled) and duplicate that on PA1 just by toggling that pin directly through the GPIO BSRR register? Easy enough to do that but it also defeats the advantage of having the timer generate the output toggle directly. The reason I want to duplicate the pulse from each timer is because I need to drive two digital FET's (FDV301N) for each pulse output, but I am not sure if I

Hi, I seem to be having difficulty with what should be a simple I2C task. I want to send the Measurement Request to the Honeywell sensor so it will take a temperature and humidity reading, which requires the following format from their datasheet:I have been using the following for my test code:I have the array ready to receive the 4 bytes when I read data. I pass it in to the transmit function as a dummy parameter but set the length as 0 since we are not required to send any data for the measurement request. Here is what is produced on the I2C lines. Unfortunately the place I work at only has one probe currently so I had to take the SCL and SDA readings separately: I combined the scope traces into a diagram. It all looks good until after the ACK bit when an extra bit is present and has just a spike at the beginning of the bit:In terms of what is received when debugging the code, I get this:This actually looks like the correct format as the first two bits are status bits and the las

Note the difference between WB5 and WB55. My main goal is to determine whether I can define any of the pins on the WB5 as SPI or ADC, or are there only certain pins that can perform those functions.

Hello, coming from a STM32L071 + SX1276 application I find it impossible to achieve the equivalent P2P simplicity using the STM32WL package and the latest version of CubeIDE. Am I correct assuming this package only works with the Nucleo hardware at the moment?Second question; has anyone managed to get a Simple P2P template working with the STM32WLE5CB on a custom board? Reason I ask this is because I keep getting quite a lot errors no matter what parameters I change, it just never compile. Same for you guys?Hardware: STM32WLE5CB (GPIO: 2 LEDs, 2 VCTRL for RF TX/RX)Goal: Board1: TX 1byte + flash led. Board2: RX 1byte + flash led.

I'm trying to add an external FLASH and RAM to the STM32WB55, but he doesn't have an FMC or FSMC, and all resources a could find related to this subject use the FMC peripheral, there is any way to use the external RAM and FLASH in the same time?should I use 1 QSPI for both of them?

Hi! Jest a curiosity topic.Currently Im writing a double word to flash with HAL_FLASH_Program function.RM notes that You should write a word32 and than to the same adress another word32.How can You write a 2x_word_32 or 1x_doubleword_64 without HAL funciin or making struct etc.?Chip Im using is stm32L432KC, that has a page flash aligment and You can write only double word to it at once. Thanks !Writing to desired location like to FLASH->KEYR or with +0x04UL distancing with another word fails with data aligment error flag.

I'm very new to stm32. I want to port SQLite to my STM32F407. I tried adding the SQLite amalgamation libraries to the code file but the code refuses to build due to several issues. I tried to search for a anything that describe how it's done in the internet but couldn't find anything. can someone who knows how it's done help me with this, or at least send me a link that describes how it's done? sorry if this is a dumb question

We seem to be having trouble getting through the vl53l5cx_init(&Dev); function for the VL53L5CX. We can read single bytes but multiple byte (4) reads trigger the TIMEOUT and the ULD doesn't load successfully. Here is our RdMulti function:uint8_t RdMulti( VL53L5CX_Platform *p_platform, uint16_t RegisterAddress, uint8_t *p_values, uint32_t size) { uint8_t DeviceAddress = p_platform->address;   Wire.beginTransmission(DeviceAddress); Wire.write((RegisterAddress & 0xFF00) >> 8); //MSB Wire.write(RegisterAddress & 0x00FF); //LSB   uint8_t status = Wire.endTransmission(false); if (status) { // failed return status; }   uint32_t i = 0; status = Wire.requestFrom(DeviceAddress, size); if(status != size){ return 1; // failed }   while (Wire.available()) { p_values[i++] = Wire.read(); } return 0; }This is a pretty standard multiByte read function for Arduino so we are a bit surprised it doesn't work. There doesn't seem to be enough

HiI'm having currently 2 projects, One relying mainly on VL53L1X for Tank level monitoring system, (Water and Diesel). And I'm trying VL53l1X to measure people heights. For the first project : The sensor is tested for liquid level monitoring, Which goes perfectly!Anyway the issue begins when the 'Diesel' is filling out, Diesel vapor blinds the sensor to make incorrect measurements ups and downs, This behavior Continued for about 7 hours with a small vapor relief pipe on top of the 2 meters height tank.In our tests, This is the only issue we're facing with VL53L1X.For the second project : I've tested the sensor to measure people's height (Sensor is fixed on top of the measurement device facing down), But due to differentsurface type (hair, caps , ...) , It varies widely in the range of 50cm, having an error* of approximately +5cm for a thick hair, less for a cap. * from the sensor's perspective.Q/ Is there a method / custom sensor configuration you suggest to solve these issues ? I've r

I have two independent projects HID and CDC which work correctly. But when I want to merge the two projects to have on composite USB device, the HID does not work correctly, it stucks. Only the CDC works fine.

Note under Figure 18 in datasheet mentions "To reduce the IC thermal resistance, therefore improve the dissipation path, the NC pins can be connected to GND" does this include pins 10, 18, and 32?

I want to change the SDADC gain while the MCU STM32F373VBTx is running. That works, but only one time.First, at the initialization of the SDADC, the STM32 CubeMX set the predefined gain.Second, I set the gain by reading values from variables. That works. But when I do that at the third time, nothing happens. Hmm...Why? Is it something I need to wait for, until I can se the gain? One question more. Does the calibration function HAL_SDADC_CalibrationStart find the perfect offset, so I don't need to change it manually?void STM32_PLC_Analog_Input_Set_Gain_Offset(uint8_t sdadc, uint8_t configuration_index, uint8_t gain, uint16_t SDADC_offset) { /* Initial selection */ SDADC_HandleTypeDef *hsdadc; int16_t *DMA_address; uint8_t DMA_length; uint8_t SDADC_gain; switch(sdadc){ case 1: hsdadc = handler_sdadc1; DMA_length = 9; DMA_address = SDADC1_Single; break; case 2: hsdadc = handler_sdadc2; DMA_length = 3; DMA_address = SDADC2_Single; break; case 3: hsdadc = handl

Hi there!   I just purchased an STM32MP157D-DK1 discovery board, and noticed that in STM32CubeIDE there are no definition files for this model, only a subset of the other MP1 discovery boards (but curiously not all of them).   Is this product unsupported by ST or can I obtain board definition files from elsewhere?   Thanks.

Hi all,What is the most correct and easiest way to generate dtb for the STM32MP1?I tried following this : https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/How_to_compile_the_device_tree_with_the_Developer_PackageLooks way complicated and I get below error :/opt/st/stm32mp1/3.1-openstlinux-5.10-dunfell-mp1-21-03-31/sysroots/x86_64-ostl_sdk-linux/lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.33' not found (required by /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/10/liblto_plugin.so)post that came across workshop video which does it in few steps.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhB0rGLjl_Q&list=PLnMKNibPkDnFeV4sBarnsAtFTg7h6V-9_&index=9I couldn't seem to get it up and compile file in any case? I mean it exists cleanly but not dtb gets generated? What i might be missing here?

From where i can find the size of memory address size ?i want to find generic approach to find size of memory address to write and read .So in which section it get mentioned inside datasheet or user manual?

What would be a minimum driving voltage requirement for your SiC MOFET. I saw a picture in Onsemi's datasheet, showing the relationship between Rdson as a function of gate driver voltage, at different temperatures. Do you have a similar curve for your SiC MOSFET?Thanks.Bing

I want to know the difference between the microcontroller used in the 511-NUCLEO-F103RB and the normal microcontroller(Raw chip). is there any difference in the bootloader or any package change?

I'm using a Cube IDE generated project (latest version) with the latest version of the G0 SDK. This problem originally showed up on a custom board but I have reproduced the problem using a Nucleo-G071RB dev board wired up to a USB-C breakout jack with voltage divider to sample VBus and a mosfet to switch VBus.The system runs fine when compiled at -O0. The Source port establishes a contract with a Sink device and stays connected indefinitely. However, as soon as any level of optimizations are turned on (even just -Og) the stack will start sending hard resets to a connected Sink roughly every 15 seconds. Sometimes this only happens 1 or 2 times after the initial contract is established, sometimes it repeats for several minutes and then stops, sometimes it repeats forever.I can set a breakpoint to stop when the reset message is sent but the hard reset signal call chain originates inside the ST stack library code. I can't see what is causing the problem because there is no source code.I ha

I am using STM32F429-DISCO developer board and I am following this tutorial. I got two buttons for increasing and decreasing an integer counter.I would like to display this variable on screen. I applied all the steps but I got "?" icon when I push the increasing button and I got "??" icon when decreasing the variable. How can I solve this issue ?Any help is appreciated.
