When I clicked 'Firmware Upgrade' for my STLink, STM32CubeProgrammer complained that 'STLinkUpgrade.jar Not Found'. I found STLinkUpgrade.jar in STSW-LINK007:https://www.st.com/en/development-tools/stsw-link007.htmlBut neither STM32CubeProgrammer nor STSW-LINK007 has any instructions about how install or place STLinkUpgrade.jar so that it can be found by STM32CubeProgrammer.I managed to perform the update by installing a separate Java runtime environment and running the utility separately, but would like to know how to set it up correctly in STM32CubeProgrammer.

Hi,I have been working on my Custom STM32F405 Board. I have been using different Communication protocols like I2C,SPI2,I2C1,USB OTG on the same chip in a single code using FREE RTOS.However, I have a problem with SPI1 of STM32F405. I'm trying to communicate with a ADS1292R Chip which also built on a custom board. The ADS1292R Board is working perfectly with STM32F401RE NUCLEO BOARD(SPI2 ON NUCLEO BOARD). But when I'm using the same code with STM32F405 with SPI1, I'm not getting correct result. The same code is working on STM32F401(SPI2) but not on STM32F405(SPI1).Is there any difference in SPI Modules of both IC's?

How should I configure STM32CubeMonitor to watch the flow of an array? I can either select the first position or expand the array but then the graph will be a mess. See below.

Hi ST Community,We are using STM32MP157C-DK2 board and OpenSTlinux Firmware (v3.1-Openstlinux-5-4-dunfell-mp1-20-11-12) for our development. Currently for DFU from PC, we are triggering USB Boot mode by configuring Boot mode Switch (SW1) manually. But our product have a requirement to trigger USB boot mode from the running firmware automatically. Is there any way to trigger USB Boot mode in STM32MP157C-DK2 board without any manual configuration ?

I am using STM32F407ZGT6 and configured the TIM1_CH1 to trigger DMA2 to transmit data through GPIO. Since the protocol is using both raising and failing edges, I need to control both data pins and the clock pin. So the TIM1 is just generating PWM signals without output. I have put all pins in GPIOC so I can use a half-word data width on both MSIZE and PSIZE to directly control both data pins and the clock pin.The target clock frequency is about 5 MHz, so I need to transmit data from SRAM to the GPIO peripheral every 50ns like:GPIOC->ODR = tmpodr[0]; GPIOC->ODR = tmpodr[0]|CLK_Pin; GPIOC->ODR = tmpodr[1]|CLK_Pin; GPIOC->ODR = tmpdor[1];   GPIOC->ODR = tmpodr[2]; GPIOC->ODR = tmpodr[2]|CLK_Pin; GPIOC->ODR = tmpodr[3]|CLK_Pin; GPIOC->ODR = tmpdor[3];it is one cycle.But what I have got is just about 3.70 MHz from the oscilloscope. After I enabled the FIFO, the maximum is about 4 MHz. And memory burst mode has no effect. I thought it is caused by the bus race si

I am generating code using STM32CubeIDE, but when I start to debug I am getting errors like:"STMicroelectronics ST-LINK GDB server. Version 5.2.3Copyright (c) 2019, STMicroelectronics. All rights reserved.Starting server with the following options:Persistent Mode : DisabledLogging Level : 1Listen Port Number : 61234Status Refresh Delay : 15sVerbose Mode : DisabledSWD Debug : EnabledWaiting for debugger connection...Debugger connectedDebugger connection lost.Shutting down..."I am using the latest version of st-link USB driver(en.stsw link009). Also I am using USB to TTL converter. Initially everything was working very well, near about ten code executed successfully. But now facing the above error. So how can I solve it?

I have a STM32G071 where, among other stuff, an UART interface an a GPIO input are configured. UART is mapped to PA9 - PA12 (Tx, Rx, CTS, RTS). PA8 is configured as GPIO input mode (no pull-up, pull-down). On the net connected to PA8 is a hall sensor with open-drain output. This net has an external 10k pull-up resistor.GPIO ports are initialized first, then UART.When I stop the code after GPIO init, the hall sensor input works like a charm. The signal is 3 V when no magnetic field is present, and 0 V when the field is present. The GPIO input register show the correct value.The moment I initialize UART, more specific, when the "transmitter enable" bit USART_CR1->TE the voltage at PA8 drops from 3 V to 1 V. When UART communication is started, the UART_Tx message is visible on the net of PA8. The blue signal is PA8 and the red signal is UART_Tx.  The GPIO configuration of PA8 does not change while UART is configured. It still works as input. When I connect the net directly to 3 V,

I am new to LWIP and MQTT. I am trying to use MQTT using LWIP in stm32f767 . I am able to get ethernet connection up and ping also works. I use mqtt_client_connect to connect to the server. The function is as follows:-mqtt_client_connect(mqtt_client_t *client, const ip_addr_t *ip_addr, u16_t port, mqtt_connection_cb_t cb, void *arg,const struct mqtt_connect_client_info_t *client_info){{ err_t err; size_t len; u16_t client_id_length; /* Length is the sum of 2+"MQTT", protocol level, flags and keep alive */ u16_t remaining_length = 2 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 2; u8_t flags = 0, will_topic_len = 0, will_msg_len = 0; LWIP_ASSERT("mqtt_client_connect: client != NULL", client != NULL); LWIP_ASSERT("mqtt_client_connect: ip_addr != NULL", ip_addr != NULL); LWIP_ASSERT("mqtt_client_connect: client_info != NULL", client_info != NULL); LWIP_ASSERT("mqtt_client_connect: client_info->client_id != NULL", client_info->client_id != NULL); if (client-&gt

Hi All,I have a situation where I would like to allow STM32H7 based embedded web server users to update the password which is originally hardcoded in the code using const keyword. Which effectively means password is placed in internal flash memory of the microcontroller.I can remove const but question is that:Is there any way to update password run time which is available on next power cycle without using anything external to STM32H7 microcontroller?I am using STM32H747 MCU and IAR embedded workbench environment for development. Currently using the Nucleo board. The application is a embedded web server while browser is the client where user logs in to the device to change settings etc. .I did come across some articles which did say it is possible to update password stored on flash of MCU’S but didn't give much detail about how to do it in a way once device switched off and back ON the updated password is still available or next login will require new password. Thanks in advance R

Hi,I would like to show dynamic text in text area with wildcard. The text contains the 'new line' character (\n) to jump to next line. for example: "First Line \n Second Line " will be printed to screen:First LineSecond LineTouchGFX does not recognize the \n char, so how could this be done?Thank you

i want to build continuous potentiometer with dma which is sensing wind direction . I have to use modbus because send data on an another STM32F070F6P6 microcontroller, but in the reference manual pdf(page 22) it says we can't work modbus communication with usart, is this true? Can anyone help me about modbus and spi ?

In my last projects, i've been dealing with FreeRTOS programming...there i had a chance to create multiple threads and test them.Then i recall when checking the performance of our pcs we see something like 4 cores, 8 threads, etc.Does the term thread mean the same in both examples: in FreeRTOS where we create by will and the ones we see in Intel processors?Thanks

I mean, is there any button or pins I could press when power on then make it into DFU mode, and the DFU mode would be recognized by Ubuntu?

Hello,I'm working with touchGFX and I'm a beginner in it.Please do not mind if the question is not proper.I have generated a code using touchGFX but the code generated is in cpp language.Is there any way if I can code for touchGFX in c language.Thank you in advance.

Hi everyone, I'm new to MCUs and programming in general and currently trying to calculate the average of the plateaus from 3 ADC input channels. I'm using Exponential Smoothing to reduce the noise and an algorithm to detect the plateau. Even tho my signals are similar, there's a slight shift and that's always less than 3ms.My goal is to run the algorithm for only one channel and when it detects a plateau, it'd wait 3ms before it starts averaging for all the channels. Averaging would stop after some ms. I'm using HAL_Delay and HAL_GetTick for this purpose but it looks like I get different values than reality.The noise reduction and averaging algorithm work for single-channel. There could be smarter ways to do this but I don't have much experience with this. I'm looking for advice on this whole process.

Correct me if I'm wrong. UART4 is used to program eMMC via the ROM monitor. Exactly what GBA pins are used? Is there any "special" circuitry involved?

I am trying to understand the semantics of the "value" field in the option bytes in Cube Programmer. On my STM32G0 part, the PCROP1A_STRT and PCROP1A_END fields have "value" and "address" fields. What are valid inputs for the "value" field? Thanks!

Does anyone already have been generate three sine wave using stm32f4?

I am trying to use the OCTOSPI2 (connector MB1242) in dev kit STM32H7B3I-EVAL with the Hypebus PSRAM IS66WVH8M8ALL-100.I successfully configured the memory to write and read in memory map mode, however this can only be done if the write is immediately followed by the read. For instance, if I add a 1ms delay after write an address, reading the same address will return wrong content.HyperBus Configuration__weak HAL_StatusTypeDef MX_OSPI_RAM_Init(OSPI_HandleTypeDef *hospi, MX_OSPI_InitTypeDef *Init) { OSPI_HyperbusCfgTypeDef sHyperbusCfg; HAL_StatusTypeDef status;   /* OctoSPI initialization */ hospi->Instance = OCTOSPI2; HAL_OSPI_DeInit(hospi);   /* * With Init->ClockPrescaler = 3, the RAM will run at 40 MHz * ClockPrescaler = 3 * Refresh = 160 */   hospi->Init.FifoThreshold = 4; hospi->Init.DualQuad = HAL_OSPI_DUALQUAD_DISABLE; hospi->Init.MemoryType = HAL_OSPI_MEMTYPE_HYPERBUS; hospi->Init.DeviceSize = Init->MemorySize; hospi->I

Hello,I am trying to start a project with AzureRTOS with the STM32H723 Nucleo board and am looking for some tips, getting started guides, etc.I have looked at the Fx_NoR_Write_Read_File example project and saw how _tx_initialize_kernel_enter() was structured and that it calls tx_application_define() which calls App_ThreadX_Init() and App_FileX_Init(). Seems like a logical approach.So I was surprised when the code generated by CubeMX uses a different structure than the examples.Makes it more difficult to adapt the examples, etc.Is there a preferred / recommended way to structure AzureRTOS projects?Thanks,Mark

Hello everyone!My setup uses a STM32407VG. I have been using for some time now and have gotten used to how to read the datasheet and use some of features. Today I am trying to get UART4 transmitting some data.Here is how I went about getting it all setup:UART4 TX can be used on PC10. Therefore we must enable the AHB1 to turn on GPIOC.The UART4 module itself is one APB1 so that must be enabled as well.Via MODER, OTYPE, OSPEEDR PUPDR, I also make sure its push pull, disabled pullups and output speed is medium. Pretty sure I don’t need to do this but I did it anyway!Via AFR[1], I set the MODER register for GPIOC to be as alternate function mode.My system clock is running at 168MHz (verified from previous projects), and my APB1 PCLK1 is 42MHz. Via the BRR, I set the baudrate and used this formula: BRR = [pclk + (baud/2)] / baud. I set CR1 to 0x04 to set the TE bit and other parameters.Here is where I get some problems, I set the UE bit in CR1.I did step through the debugger (via STLINK) an

Hello ST team, I’m using the IIS3DWB (STEVAL-MKI208V1K) together with an Arduino Portenta H7. No filter added through the composite group of digital filters, only the default LPF1. Also, 2g scale resolution.When placing the sensor on a surface isolated from vibrations (i.e. reading the static DC response), single axis mode, I’m registering a noise of about +-20 mg around the gravity constant offset. Graph in image1.Similarly, when measuring a 674 Hz signal from a tone generator, single axis mode, I see a noise +-20 mg added to the signal. Graph in image2.In the datasheet, a noise of 60 microg / sqrt(Hz) is indicated for single axis mode, so I think I’m seeing a bigger noise than expected (around 2 mg for the 674 Hz signal using that datasheet value).Am I misunderstanding the noise definition of the datasheet in relation to the noise I’m seeing in my experiments? What could be the reason for that noise? Can it be reduced at source without additional filters or averaging?I’m using the se

Hi guysI have a real strange issuetrying to move two 8bits values in to one 16bit variable,can someone please tell me why this does not workIt should OR the lsb to the msb      Sensor_Flow = I2C1_DATA[0] ;      Sensor_Flow = Sensor_Flow << 8;      Sensor_Flow = Sensor_Flow || I2C1_DATA[1];thanks in addvance

My hardware design doesn't connect the BOOT0-Pin to a specific voltage level.
