I've found that Nucleo-L4R5ZI and Nucleo-L476RG sometimes stop receiving UART data through the STLINK USB interface is Mass Storage type is enabled.I created a program that echos random data sizes (send to board, board echos back). This will crash after a while on macOS if "Mass Storage" is enabled (it is fine on Windows and Linux regardless of Mass Storage option). Here is a simple MBED project and both a Python and Node application to cause the failure.https://github.com/petertorelli/serialbreakerThe crash takes a while to happen, it is quite intermittent, and requires a full uplug/replug of the device (macOS will sometimes complain that the mass device was not removed properly).I have another where I found the ST board can still transmit, it just cannot receive. I know this because I can reset the board with the reset button, see a boot test message, but it still won't respond to commands sent over the UART. I think the bug is in the RX path from the host to the STM board.I've seen

Hi, I hope this is the right place to ask this.I am trying to read data from a ADS7142 in manual mode dual channel-single ended.Communication with the chip works just fine, but when the time comes to read the data, it only returns zeroesSetup:HAL_StatusTypeDef configure(I2C_HandleTypeDef *hi2c, uint8_t DeviceAddress) {   do { HAL_StatusTypeDef buff = writeSingleRegister(hi2c, DeviceAddress, REG_CHANNEL_INPUT_CFG, 0b00); //dual single ended if (buff != HAL_OK) { return buff; } } while (readSingleRegister(hi2c, DeviceAddress, REG_CHANNEL_INPUT_CFG) != 0b00);   do { HAL_StatusTypeDef buff = writeSingleRegister(hi2c, DeviceAddress, REG_OPMODE_SEL, 0b100); //Manual auto sequence if (buff != HAL_OK) { return buff; } } while (readSingleRegister(hi2c, DeviceAddress, REG_OPMODE_SEL) != 0b100);   do { HAL_StatusTypeDef buff = writeSingleRegister(hi2c, DeviceAddress, REG_AUTO_SEQ_CHEN, 0b11); //both channels if (buff != HAL_OK) { re

Hi Team ,We are using PLS debugger for one of our project ST SPC58NG84E7 controller ,compiler GHS Version 202114 and Debugger UDE STK2021 .But we are facing one issue while debugging one function in SetAbsAlarm(1,10,10) In SetAbsAlram while we debugging first argument value instead of 1 it is taking as 8 .We saw disassembly code but first argument instruction is SE_LI R3,0x1 but after executing this instruction R3 value it is loading with 8 instead of 1 .Please find the snap shot attached below line no 876 due to these we are facing incorrect functionality .Kindly provide support .RegardsPraveen

Hello,I'm using an STM32H743i-Eval2, we plugged in another LCD of 1024x600 RGB888 60HzWe set the LTDC clock at 51.2Mhz as written in the LCD datasheet. (HSE 25Mhz / 25 * 512 / 10)We get no clock at all on Pin32 of CN20 (CLK pin on LCD connector)The clock is correct only when LTDC clock is set to 25Mhz or lower.Our system clock is set to 400Mhz, Peripheral Clock to 100MhzThe onboard 32bits SDRAM CAS is set to 2.Any clue ?

Hi everyone, Just FYI this is my first real dive into using STMs so please excuse possible gaps in understanding.Issue: I have been trying to program an STM Bluepill (STM32F103C8T6) but have been unable to get my pc to detect it and launch in debug mode using STMCubeIDE.What I have tried:ST-LINK: I have attempted to use both the STM32CubeProgrammer and STM Link-Utility to connect to the board and get the memory view to display. No amount of configuration has been able to get it to connected. I have looked up some previous posts on the matter and none have helped. (I have tried varying the mode and reset options options according to these post suggestions)UART: I have also attempted a serial connection but am unable to connect with the following CubeProgrammer output: 10:41:50:393 : Serial Port COM4 is successfully opened. 10:41:50:393 : Port configuration: parity = even, baudrate = 1200, data-bit = 8,            &nbs

I working with the stm32cubeide version 1.9.0, stlink-v3 debugger and the stm32l4r9 with 1M flash. Everything was going fine until the code size reached 128 sectors ( ~ 50% of the flash). I'm now getting the following error when I attempt to download and debug the application:STMicroelectronics ST-LINK GDB server. Version 6.1.0Copyright (c) 2022, STMicroelectronics. All rights reserved.Starting server with the following options:       Persistent Mode           : Disabled       Logging Level             : 1       Listen Port Number        : 61234       Status Refresh Delay      : 15s       Verbose Mode    &nb

I have attached the .IOC file that will not migrate. Any help would be great.

Hello, I am trying to associate the DMA1 in M4 context with USART2 but whenever I click "add" on the right pane, I see no USART2 on that, on the contrary, I see UART4 it on DMA2 as shown below. If I try to put DMA2 in M4 context, UART4 now appears in DMA1 and I cannot Assign both of them to M4       No uart/usart when i click add , please see below image :       My aim is to associate the USART2 with the DMA1 if it is possible. Please guide. Regards, D

Win 10, STM32CubeIDE 1.8.0STM32F746-DiscoI'm learning QuadSPI and doing everything in bare metal with C, it gives me understanding of hardware. QSPI Flash IC, mouser, with datasheetShort summary of the problem: indirect read from QuadSPI Flash, no communication on datalines, Fifo treshold flag always set.I've never worked with QuadSPI before, so I read the reference manual of STM32F746, seemed more or less clear, at least I was ready to give it a shot, it usually works this way.I used TouchGFX generated code, which I opened in STM32CubeIDE, to grab some parameters of QuadSPI, and I also used a breakpoint while running TouchGFX program to check if my QuadSPI registers have same or similar values and if there is nothing important missing (since TouchGFX uses QuadSPI Flash differently, for one, not in indirect mode). I made sure my GPIO are configured identically, everything is clocked, etc. So, here is how I setup the stuff:void qspi_setup_indirect_mode(void){   //NOR Flash MT25QL1

I have a project where I want to place the TGFX resources (images, translations, fonts) in a memory mapped QSPI flash. In this instance I have placed them in this flash via the linker (.o files) rather than using binary fonts etc. The crash occurs generally when switching screens. I can usually switch screens successfully a number of times. Sometimes it fails after 30 screen switches, sometimes 5. I've also seen it fail when updating smaller elements. The crash also prevents the debugger (IAR / I-Jet) from stopping, so I've had no luck there. Debug log: "CPU did not stop"I find the problem goes away if I put the TGFX fonts back in internal flash. It also goes away if I switch back to full frame buffers rather than using partial frame buffers. ( I have restrictions on ram usage, so partial frame buffers are needed)I've given the TGFX FreeRTOS task lots of stack but that doesn't fix the problem. I put a scope trace around the TouchGFXHAL::flushFrameBuffer(const Rect& rect) routine. I

The prototype of the generated function by STM32CubeMx when using FATFS is:int32_t MX_FATFS_Process(void) This cannot be used with FreeRTOS as a task entry function since it has the wrong return and argument type. The function prototype should be :void MX_FATFS_Process(void *argument)So that it could be accepted while creating FATFS task: FatFsTaskHandle = osThreadNew(MX_FATFS_Process, NULL, &FatFsTask_attributes); In the example project provided in STM32Cube MCU Package for STM32L5 series, the function prototype is correct. The code generated by STM32CubeMX does not match this example.

I want to implement writing of data on password-protected NFC 25 tag) ST25DV04KIn my case, I have enabled write protection on Area1 with password 1 set using the NFC tap App.I want to use a known password to enable my Android and iOS to write the data on these tags.Could you please point ot to the example or resources to implement this feature?

Hi everyone ! After successfully launched ST25R3911 (in 14443-A smart card reader mode) without RFAL , using only analysis of dialog on ST25R3911B-DISCO there was a need to implement an 14443-A emulator based on ST25R3916. With the DISCO everything is easy : logic analyzer, datasheet, and a week to learn and reproduce control commands for ST. The result is a sequence of instructions and register values to implement read mode, sleep mode and so on.ST25R3916 it’s difficult here, let’s say I’m not friends with RFAL in the context of integration into my project and I don't have access to something like DISCO for 3916.The Q is : in which document can I find a sequence of commands using RFAL or register values / direct commands and algorithm for implementing the emulation mode ?

Hi thereIs there a way to have one ID with different Fonts?I don't see the point in generating the same string multiple times with different fonts. That is event cumbersome with the translation offices who have to translate the same string multiple times.We use a lot of the same strings in different places in the GUI.For example I get a String ID from a TCP/PI packet and want to display it on the screen.The sender of the packet does not care which font / typography is used, but I do, so with our old GUI library I could do something like "show_text(TEXT_ID, FONT_A_30px)"How can I do that with TouchGFX? Is there a workaround?Thanks,jimmii

We have to make minimal changes to parts of the HAL code, which would be overwritten by code generation.Is there a recommended way to implement such changes, such that they don't get reverted by generation?The two ways I can think of both have their problems:patch the firmware pack files (i.e. in our case the extracted stm32cube_fw_g0_v151.zip files). This way, the changes would be part of the generated code. This would have to be part of the workspace setup for each developer, and would have to be repeated when the pack is updated.patch the generated code after generation. This would be an additional manual step after code generation. Lacking a "post-generation" hook (see my other post), this is easily forgotten by developers.Is there anything obvious that I'm missing to achieve modifying the HAL code?

I'm working on a project with a STM32F407 using the STM32Cube Ide.I'm trying to add a new library (coded in ANSI C) that manages Zigbee frame encapsulation https://github.com/digidotcom/xbee_ansic_library. My problem is that in some files of that library there are includes such as#include <endian.h>that are not present in the GNU tools for STM32. From what I see, this kind of system libraries are in the following path:STM32CubeIDE_1.4.0\STM32CubeIDE\plugins\com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.externaltools.gnu-tools-for-stm32.10.3-2021.10.win32_1.0.0.202111181127\tools\arm-none-eabi\includeWhat I'm trying to do to fix this is to download the original GNU endian.h library and add it to this path, but I have 2 problems arising from that:1) There are conflicting declarations between the GNU libraries and the IDE libraries, because, the GNU libraries are not exactly the same as the GNU tools for STM32. This throws hundreds of compile errors.2) This way of fixing it will only work in my current

We have a project where, due to various issues found during development, I've modified the PCB layout and changed a few pin allocations.Is there any way to include multiple configurations from CubeMX and select between these at compile time?This would allow us to gradually transition from the old hardware to the new rather than having to upgrade all units to the new PCB before we can release any software updates.It's something I've done many times in the past on the PIC where I/O was configured in the code, but as it's all handled within Cube for the STM32 it isn't as obvious how to achieve it.

I am trying to create a 50ms timer using the above reference. The clock is 16MHz, I have a divisor of 16 and have the NVIC enabled (all this is done in cubeMX). I have the following ISR void HAL_LPTIM_AutoReloadMatchCallback(LPTIM_HandleTypeDef *hlptim) { hlptim1.Instance->ISR |= (LPTIM_ICR_ARRMCF | LPTIM_ICR_CMPMCF); }Prior to the while 1 loop I call:HAL_LPTIM_Counter_Start_IT(&hlptim1, 50000);It doesn't appear to me to be working correctly.....At start up I get into the ISR and count is way less than it should be....Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? This should be pretty simple as I just want the timer to count to 50ms (using 16mhz with /16) and every time it rolls generate an IRQ....

I have a short strip of tape that's supposed to be LSM6DS3's, but the SMD marking code on them is different from the other tapes I have (which where correctly organized and labeled). So, is there a table where I can look up the codes that refer to the LSM6DS3 to find out if these chips are indeed what they're supposed to be? I tried looking for this info in the datasheet and product info page but could not find anything...Thanks!
