I'm researching the usefulness of the VL53L1X for people flow detection in/out of a room. I know example given but I'm left with two questions:A) Which of the SM ToF sensors in VL53 series might provide same capability as example?B) Without experience and experimentation I'm unclear how low the power consumption would be for a door sensor based on VL53L1, for example, so I can determine battery life? Also, what mode, settings, and sampling approach etc would ideally provide an interrupt driven continuous door sensing capability with minimum power consumption? Thanks for your consideration.

I have SDMMC1 configured for my H7 as follows: The card is inserted. I call generated init, and set debug to the HAL_MMC_InitCard of stm32h7xx_hal_mmc.c file, line:/* Identify card operating voltage */ errorstate = MMC_PowerON(hmmc); if (errorstate != HAL_MMC_ERROR_NONE) { hmmc->State = HAL_MMC_STATE_READY; hmmc->ErrorCode |= errorstate; return HAL_ERROR; }The errorstate is -1. What now?The specific hardware is STM32H747I-DISCO board. I also tested it with hardware flow control disabled. Same result. I switched the configuration to SDMMC_BUS_WIDE_1B and it works. At least it passes the initialization. I don't know how to interpret this behavior. With the previous configuration you can see the QUADSPI module has a warning. The details say that some features are unavailable, but well, since they are not used (at least by me) - that should be fine, or that may be the cause of the problem?

Hello!I'm receving data in UART rx, using DMA and ring buffer with idle detection, but when I disconnect and reconnect the cable in Rx the communication stops and my buffer fills up with '\0'. So, I need to resume the UART communication, how can I do this?I tried to execute the UART init fuctions, but it didn't work. Now I wonder if the cause of this is the no pull-up resistors in Rx. What do you think? I would try this, but CubeMx doesn't let me configure this.

Please, give me your opinion.I have to develop an anti-tamper board.By now I was asked to select one of 2 working modes:1)Interrupt on TAP2)XYZ values on demand ,microcontroller periodically checks variations in XYZ values. Is it possible to have both at same time?In other words, every second XYZ values are compared with some thresholds, but between measurements (or even during) if a TAP event occurs it must activate the INT pin.Thanks.Diego

I am a beginner with STM32MPUs and I've been trying to follow the example: How to stream camera over network (can't add links because I'm a new member but it's in ST Wiki)I'm trying to stream the video from an USB Webcam connected to the STM32MP157F-DK2 over the network to another Ubuntu PC running on a virtual machine.Unfortunately it doesn work. When I run:v4l2-ctl --set-parm=30;v4l2-ctl --set-fmt-video=width=640,height=480,pixelformat=JPEG --stream-mmap --stream-count=-1 --stream-to=- 2>/dev/null | gst-launch-1.0 fdsrc ! jpegparse ! rtpjpegpay ! udpsink host=192.168.0.9 port=5000I see the webcam's LED on and I get the following output:Frame rate set to 10.000 fps Setting pipeline to PAUSED ... Pipeline is PREROLLING ...Then, when I run the command below on the host PC side, nothing happens.gst-launch-1.0 udpsrc port=5000 ! application/x-rtp, encoding-name=JPEG ! rtpjpegdepay ! jpegparse ! decodebin ! videoconvert ! autovideosinkI have been able to test the webcam and I can see th

I purchased a STEVAL-STWINKT1B development board and inside it has the STR485 chip for RS485 communication.I tried using the cube mx and configured it appropriately (see image 1 attached), enabled uart2, RS485 flowcontrol and then checked that the pins on the board schematic matched. Then this I simply tried to send the data on the uart to see if I could see the A and B signals coming off the chip with the oscilloscope change, but nothing seems to happen. this is the code i used to send the message on the UART: while (1) {  uint8_t *prova="0123456789";  HAL_UART_Transmit(&huart2, prova, 10, 100);  HAL_Delay(3000);  /* USER CODE END WHILE */  /* USER CODE BEGIN 3 */ }how can I solve this problem?

This is my interpretation of the IIS328DQ Data Sheet, but according to my colleague, the gerber file linked in the answer to "IIS328DQ PCB Design Guidelines Unclear"* shows no copper under the sensor. Thus, the current PCB layout has the copper removed. What is correct, and is it important?Thank you.*) As a new member, I'm not allowed to insert a hyperlink.

I'm currently trying to integrate a Micron MT29F1G01ABAFDWB NAND flash with a STM32L4R5ZIT using its OctoSPI peripheral. A colleague of mine found Table 119 on page 556 of the SMT32l4+ reference manual RM0432 that seems to indicate that our MCU does not support Micron mode. I have attached a screenshot of the relevant table for ease of reference. The interesting thing is that CubeMX does allow one to select Micron mode even though the STM32L4R5ZIT MCU was chosen for the CubeMX project. From page 556 in the reference manual, the register settings indicate that using regular command protocol does not affect the functionality. Does the Micron mode then only refer to polling more and memory mapped mode? Also, if MTYP[2:0] = 010 is used, "Standard Mode" is selected. What does this mode entail? It isn't listed in CubeMX or the STM32 drivers.I would like to make sure that there is in fact an incompatibility and if so if there is a work around. To what extend does the Micron or Macronix mode af

Hi i am using STEVAL-MKI182V2 evaluation board and i am having a doubt that in this PDF dt0060-exploiting-the-gyroscope-to-update-tilt-measurement-and-ecompass-stmicroelectronics.pdf at purpose and benefits para, it is mentioned that This design tip explains how to exploit gyroscope data to update tilt measurements (roll and pitch angles) and eCompass (yaw angle). in my sensor i can able to read X,Y,Z axis of accelerometer and Gyroscope but my sensor doesn't consists of magnetometer without magnetometer can i get e compass?? Thank you.

Hello, I have two questions : (1) Is I2C5 the one on which the peripheral can be connected on the I2C lines on the Arduino connector with the cortex M4? I checked this and it is I2C5.PLease correct me? (2) I was trying to search/look the BSP methods for this I2C 5 like the BSP for I2C4 as provided in the STM32Cube_FW_MP1_V1.5.0\Drivers\BSP\STM32MP15xx_disco_bus.c where BSP methods related to I2C4 are defined and also the pin numbers in the corresponding header file.Is it possible to generate these methods using a code generator? or I can manually change the BSP I2C by looking at the ioc files ?

Hello,I'm using an LIS2DTW12 and I don't understand very well which is the cut off frequency.I'm quite confused because from this picture seems that the anti aliasing filter has cut off frequency fixed to 400 Hz : Then in this table the cut off frequency after the LPF1 and LPF2 seems ODR/2:I'm interested in the 0-100Hz part of the acceleration so my ODR is 200 Hz.I want know if the part of the acceleration above 100Hz is cut off or if only the part above 400Hz is cut and then there will be aliasing.Regards,Riccardo

I am getting desperate trying to solve this issue. When I add some content to HAL_TIM_PeriodElapsedCallback the main loop gets frozen but still continue receiving call on HAL_TIM_PeriodElapsedCallback. Could somebody help me out with this? I have been dealing with this issue for almost 3 days and don't know what could be the problem I have tried changing the priorities of the timers, prescales, moving functionality out of the timers IRQ handlers...Thanks in advance.

Hi ST,We are currently adapting ST code into a Linux device driver to control a ST25RU3993.We are trying to integrate the RSSI calculation.Following the AN4971 Rev2 and this ST question, we use formula meanRSSI = [RSSI(I) + RSSI(Q)] / 2 Pin (in dBm) = 2.1 * meanRSSI - GWhen comparing our readings with GUI calculations for the same values of LogQ and LogI, with the same rxgain, we don't find the same Pin. After doing a lot of readings, we can see that most of the values are "shifted" by 2 units of LogQ and LogI (See image below). Can you help us figure out what's wrong with our readings ?Thanks,Thomas

Debug tool:Lauterbach  Software Version: R.2018.02.000096069The screenshot of CMM is as follows:Of course, this cmm is modified by the cmm of the MPC5xxx chipThe above script writes two addresses,0x00400360, the write data is 0x05AA55AF000000000x00400368, the write data is 0x0000030100080000 (start offline bist)After executing the cmm, the debugger shows debug port fail. And the lower right corner of trace32 jumps reset from time to timeI also learned about an official cmm from the "AN4939 How to run self-test in the SPC58NN84x device Rev2 March 2019.pdf" document, but I can't find this cmm on the official website, can you tell me where to download it?So far, the above has happened to two boards, so desperately hope someone understands what happened and can let me know.Best regards!

I set the character wildcards properly, to include all required characters. Here's my example code:Unicode::strncpy(errorTextBuffer, "Zażółć gęślą jaźń.", ERRORTEXT_SIZE); errorText.resizeToCurrentText(); errorText.invalidate();But what I get is this:The character encoding for my entire project is "UTF-8", so this is the file encoding.I tried to use UART as the debug console and it outputs the UTF-8 text with no problems.I guess Unicode functions of TouchGFX don't expect the char* strings to be UTF-8. How it is done properly?

Hi Everyone,I am new to this field and working on ISM330DLC i am using the below program (link) to read the data and getting the raw_data of gyroscope values aways 0 when i kept on table it is getting values only if i made any movement. but i read that gyroscope will return some offset value when there is no movement in that case the program which i am using is it wrong?? but it is given the ST only in github what might be wrong can't ale to get.STMems_Standard_C_drivers/ism330dlc_read_data_polling.c at master · STMicroelectronics/STMems_Standard_C_drivers (github.com)

I am trying to setup an ADC to read 4 different inputs. TempSensor, VRefint, Channel 0 and Channel 1. When I tell it number of conversions = 4 It lets me Fill in Rank 2, 3, and 4, but not Rank 1. I thought this worked before. I uninstalled the ST IDE, and MX programs and reinstalled. Same issue. What am I doing wrong? Did something get corrupted?  STM32CubeMX - STM32 Device Configuration ToolVersion: 6.5.0-RC4Build: 20220225-1913 (UTC)

Hi,I would like to copy the exact contents of a hex file to the flash memory of my f446 nucleo, complete with byte count, address info ....Is there any way to do this? Using ST-Link I can only find options to actually flash the hex file or manually alter single hex addresses. Thanks!

Hello,The MCU used in our project is STM32WBCEU (LQFP48).I am going to download the BL stack binary in the form of Firmware Upgrade through STMProgrammer >> FUS page. The problem is that I face a "Wrong address" error.Where can I find the Start address for my MCU???It should be noted that its the first install.hank you very much in advance for your response.

I would like to know if the micro can work exclusively with the internal LDO for the Vcore

I can see the folder in the X-CUBE-AZRTOS-H7 2.1.0 repository but it is not available in the STM32CubeIDE Example selector. Can I fix CubeIDE or manually import the project?

Hello, I recently got a SensorTile.Box and wanted to log accelerometer and gyroscope data from the LSM6DSOX along with the time at which the sensor output was recorded. Importantly, I want to do this at the highest frequency possible (6666Hz) with microsecond and possibly nanosecond time resolution. To attempt to accomplish this I used the "ST BLE Sensor" app from the Google Play Store. I entered expert mode and configured the following inputs:IMU Accelerometer sensor (6666Hz)IMU Gyroscope sensor (6666Hz)RTC (Time) I configured the app to output to the SD card. After uploading the app to the SensorTile.Box and logging some data on the SD card I took a look at the logged data. There were two problems:I calculated the data rate of the sensors by dividing the number of samples in the log file by the time it took to capture the data. The calculated data rate was ~1600Hz! Much less than the 6666Hz I configured. Why am I not able to log data to the SD card at 6666Hz?The timestamps in the csv l

Very new but excited to start an IoT project here. I have a WL55JC1 and IKS01A3. I followed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9s8XiABakuQa and managed to get some widgets connected to Cayenne dashboard, but I can't add anymore widget as devices are greyed out - is there a tutorial how to add additional sensor widgets through CubeIDE or MX etc?
