I am testing the STM8S Standard Peripheral Library (SPL) with a NUCLEO-8S208RB dev board. The SPL examples were written for the STM8/128-EVAL board, but can be tailored for the Nucleo. I am using the latest STVD and STVP dev tools. The SPL example 'UART1 Half-Duplex' is not working, either with UART1 in TX or RX mode. Only one Nucleo is used, with a single wire connection from UART1_TX to UART3_RX as shown in the below figure: UART1_TX (PA5) to UART3_RX (PD6), as suggested by the example. Are additional connections needed on the same board? Any other suggestions? Thank you.

Hi,the STM32L011E4 has a R_ADC of 1kOhm max according to the datasheet. Does this hold true for standard channels as well, or do standard channels have a higher impedance? The table with R_AIN_max isn't super helpful in this regard as my calculation results don't match with either standard or fast channels.AN2834 mentions an ADC sampling estimation tool. Is it possible to acquire it?Best regards,David Kraeutmann

Hi,I am developing a small module with the STM32WB10 and I need to do 10 ADC conversions (9 external and the internal temperature). However, I can only get the DMA to do the 8 channels configured in the regular channel ranks (Number of conversions = 8 is max in the CubeIDE configurator). How do I make the DMA handle the last 2 channels aswell? if it is at all possible?I can see in the stm32wb10xx.h that there is this define#define ADC_SUPPORT_2_5_MSPSthat prevents the stm32wbxx_hal_adc.h from providing more than 8 ranks for the ADC, but I don't need 2,5MSPS. Is it possible to slow it down somewhere? I tried just giving it a slower clock, but that didn't do the trick...

Hello everyone,Currently, I am working with the example LoRaWAN_End_Node on Nucleo-WL55JC1. I am trying to achieve downlink control. Downlink messages are sent from Chirpstack NS.Right now, I don't know where the function of receiving and processing downlink packets is, in the LoRaWAN_End_Node. I suspect that it is the function OnRxData in lora_app.c but when I tested, it was not what I wanted. Can anyone help me on finding where that function is and how to implement new code?P/s: My next goal is to send a hex (01) from Chirpstack NS to the board so that an LED is turned on.Thank you in advanced, Huy Nguyen.

How does the STM32 knows where should the .BSS section be addressed, and what's the range, when the chip startup initially? We know that firmware downloaded into the flash contains section information like .text ,.data ect, while .bss section should be build up dynamiclly by the system, but how does the chip knows about the address and range for the .BSS section?!

Hello, I happened to have to make an MCU board for a military application. Generally I always use STM32 MCU with which I am very comfortable. But for this specific application I tried to search if there were any MCUs specifically designed for military applications, but all I found are substantially equivalent to the STM32 chips, it doesn't seem that they have anything more than a medium-high range STM32 MCU.So the question is: by choosing an STM32 with extended temperature rage, are there any contraindications to using it for military or safety critical applications? Thanks in advance.

I'm writing a C# version of the USB_Example program. You can set the loader path using the setLoadersPath call, but the path of the Data_Base directory seems to be fixed to "/../Data_Base/<whatever you are trying to connect to>.html. Is there any way of changing this path too? I'm using the latest 2.11 API

I am new with cubeIDE and have been working with a couple projects open at once and it's hard to decipher between them when they're all in the same row in tabs (see first attachment). I am coming from MPLAB and there is an option in the IDE to make different projects have their own row and color (see second attachment). Is there a setting that can achieve something similar in cubeIDE?

Hello,I am using the STM32WB55 nucleo development kit to communicate over QSPI with an external memory device. I presently have the QSPI interface configured for DMA operation, and I am able to use the external device successfully. However, when transmitting data during the data phase of commands, I have captured a pause between bytes being transmitted, as shown below.Note that on the left of the capture, the clock is toggling regularly while the address is sent. However, the clock then stops toggling, and only pulses to send a byte every ~240 ns.The STM32 is clocked at 32 MHz, and has no prescalar, so the QSPI clock should also be at 32 MHz. This pause is not present during the command phase or address phase, and is not observed when receiving data, only when transmitting data.Is this a known limitation of the QSPI peripheral? The external peripheral is used for bulk data logging, and speed is very important for my application. It looks like a data transfer speed up of ~3x is being los

Hello everyone,I'm trying to get started with the STM32MP157 with the STM32MP157x-EV1 Evaluation board by following the exact steps shown here.Everything seems to be running smoothly but when I try to flash the microSD card on the board, something happens: Apparently the problem begins allright, but then, after the message saying "reconnecting the device..." nothing happens and the flashing stops. Here's the log:user@STest:~/STM32MPU_workspace/STM32MP15-Ecosystem-v1.0.0/Starter-Package/stm32mp1-openstlinux-4.19-thud-mp1-19-02-20/images/stm32mp1$ STM32_Programmer_CLI -c port=usb1 -w flashlayout_st-image-weston/FlashLayout_sdcard_stm32mp157c-ev1-trusted.tsv ------------------------------------------------------------------- STM32CubeProgrammer v2.0.0 -------------------------------------------------------------------       USB speed : High Speed (480MBit/s) Manuf. Hello,I am using an STM32H7B3I-EVAL board with a STM32H7B3LIH6Q MCU. I am looking to use FDCAN to communicate with multiple nodes and someone recommended using mailboxes for messages sent/received. The documentation was unclear, so I wanted to ask if Mailboxes are a feature with this MCU?

Hi there,I would be interested to know if there is any guidance or any existing example projects for using the STM32MP1 with an RTOS on the A7 cores. I am interested in the possibility of running an RTOS like ThreadX/SMP on the A7 cores (plus the M4 core separately). If this is possible, can the headers from the MP1 HAL be used? Are the memory-mapped peripherals all still accessible at the same base addresses on both the M4 and A7 sides? And regarding the Vivante GPU, is that possible to drive directly without the Linux driver? Are there any public datasheets? I've seen some open-source projects which have reverse-engineered the opcodes. Are there any more official projects or documentation resources for this device? Many thanks,Roger

I'm trying the tutorial on UART (https://wiki.st.com/stm32mcu/wiki/STM32StepByStep:Step3_Introduction_to_the_UART) with an STM32MP157F-DK2 board.I tried defining the USART2 GPIOs with CubeMX as found in the reference document UM2637: DP5 - TX, PD6 - RX (I even tried alternate ports such as PA2, PA3). The generated code compiles well. I then open a Putty connexion on COM19 (the ST Link port) with the required settings, but nothing is printed when I launch the debug. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,I'm here to try to solve a problem that I have on a L6470 device.I have a stepper motor whose step angle is 1.8 degree (200 steps in 360 degrees)and with a 128 microstep mode selected I want to move the motor's rotor to makea 60 degrees angle.I set MIN_SPEED to the integer value corresponding to its maximum value (4096,corresponding to 976.3 step/sec) and I set the MAX_SPEED to an integer valuecorresponding to the same min speed (976.3 * 250 nsec / 2^-18 = 64) so that minimum and maximum speed are about the same (no acceleration/decelerationphase).Then I set a MOVE command with steps = 4267 (the 128 microsteps correspondingto an angle of 60 degrees = (200 * 128) * 60 / 360 ). I would have expected the timeit takes to make that angle to be about 4.73 seconds (4267 / 976.3 = 4.37 sec) butthe time that I measured is almost instantaneous.Where am I wrong?

On my NUCLEO-G071RB board, I am able to use CubeMX to setup VREFBUF mode to use the VREF+ input-pin, internal 2.5V or 2.048V for reference for ADC and DAC.But I'm making a schematic for a STM32G071GBUxN, which does not have a VREF+ pin and in CubeMX I don't find any setup of the reference for this device. So what is the ADC/DAC reference for this device and how do I make adjustments?

Hi,I'm having trouble getting serial data out of my STM32 Nucleo board. I managed to get this working a few years ago but for some reason it's not working for me now.The board that I'm using is an NUCLEO-F413ZH and I'm using a USB-TTL serial cable (TTL-232R-3V3) to try and print some test data to a hyper terminal (RealTerm).I'm running the UART_printf example from the STM32CubeF4 firmware and have modified the code as shown below:main.cuint8_t test_str[] = "Hello World And The Universe!\r\n";while (1){   HAL_UART_Transmit(&UartHandle, test_str, sizeof(test_str), 10);      HAL_Delay(1000);}main.h#define USARTx              USART2#define USARTx_CLK_ENABLE()       __HAL_RCC_USART2_CLK_ENABLE(); #define USARTx_RX_GPIO_CLK_ENABLE()   __HAL_RCC_GPIOD_CLK_ENABLE()#define USARTx_TX_GPIO_CLK_ENABLE()   __HAL_RCC_GPIOD_CLK_E

I am trying to implement a simple soundcard from using STM32F407G-DISC1 board. It utilizes STM32F407. I am using CubeIDE version 1.10.1I configured the USB to be Full-speed Device Only. And I configured the middleware as Audio class.I set the the heap size at 0x4000, and stack size at 0x2000.When I connect it via the USB, Windows surely recognizes it as "Speakers".I know that when the microcontroller receives Audio data, I should have access to the samples in the "AUDIO_AudioCmd_FS" function. The problem is that, when I send Audio data to the microcontroller, the AUDIO_AudioCmd_FS function gets called only once, and it does not get called again. No matter how many times I resend Audio data from the PC to the microcontroller, the AUDIO_AudioCmd_FS function does not get called again. Can anyone please help me with this issue?

1) STM32CubeMX Version 4.26.1, STM32Cube V1.0, using firmware package STM32Cube MCU Package for STM32L4 Series 1.12.0 (22 May 2018)2) New Project, STM32L476RE, USB Device, class for FS IP Audio Device class, configure RCC + 3 GPIO's because of how my development board is setup and thats it.3) Generate TrueStudio project and open with Atollic TrueSTUDIO for STM32 v9.14) Run / Debug5) Windows enumerates the USB Audio Device6) Click the Mute button on the Windows volume on the taskbar to send a SET_CURRENT request to mute the device, packet can be verified on the Device Monitoring Studio7) The first SET_CURRENT request arrives at USBD_AUDIO_Setup. However, if you put a breakpoint there, USBD_AUDIO_Setup never gets called again, even when clicking the mute again. You can see on Device Monitoring Studio that down packets are still sent.It looks like calling USBD_CtlPrepareRx (because of needing to receive the SET_REQUEST data stage via USBD_AUDIO_EP0_RxReady) messes up the default control p

I'm trying to use the RX / TX interface on J5 on the B-G431B-ESC1.However, it looks like the ST-LINK daughterboard uses those pins too. I know I can snap off the daughterboard, but I still want to be able to use the ST MCSDK tools, switching back and forth as needed.Unfortunately, a HW is a pain as the lines are simply shared and there's no good solder pads on the ST-LINK daughterboard and the ESC board to make a jumper. What would be even better though, is being able to get the stm32 103 chip on the daughterboard to simply tri-state those lines when they are not being used.If I don't power the daughterboard, the MCU drags the lines down too far, if I power through USB and / or 12v on the main + - pins for the motor and battery elimination circuit, then the 103 is actively trying to drive those lines, making the ones on J5 useless.Any ideas? Is there any way to do this?

Hi, with my team we are currently investigating the low power features of the STM32L4R9 MCU on a DISCOVERY board. We are measuring the current consumption on JP1, plugging an external amperemeter between pins 3 and 2.We would like to check the datasheet figures while entering in the different stopModes (0, 1 and 2) with this very simple code:int main(void) { __HAL_RCC_PWR_CLK_ENABLE(); HAL_PWREx_EnterSTOP0Mode(PWR_STOPENTRY_WFE); //HAL_PWREx_EnterSTOP1Mode(PWR_STOPENTRY_WFE); //HAL_PWREx_EnterSTOP2Mode(PWR_STOPENTRY_WFE); }We observe that whatever stop mode we use, we get the same current consumption which is around 0.3mA.This figure is far from the electrical characteristics where in stop2 we should have something around 10uA.We are wondering if the MCU correctly shutdown the main regulator in stop1 and stop2? Does anyone know how we can check this?We are also maybe missing some preliminary configurations, does anyone have any advice or piece of code to achieve better co

Hello, I am new to stm32F4 software programming. I'm working on a project to interface a TFT LCD screen with an STM32F429.I did the necessary configuration with cubemx and now I opened the project with cubeide. on description of display it is noted that these drivers are needed there: LI6122 + ILI5960OTA7001A+OTA9960A1-can you explain to me what this means?2- do I have to use these 4 drivers at the same time?3- should I find the c code for these drivers on the web? a corresponding library? or I have to program the driver myself. My goal is to interface my TFT LCD display with my board.I put here a photo on the outputs configured with cubemx, there are 23 pins configured for the LTCD.I can share my project but I judge that it is not necessary. Up to you.Thank you in advance for your answer.display reference: sh500j01z

I'm trying to download the standard library for the MCU stm8s003f on the ST site, but I get the message "not available for download". Is there an alternative way to get this library?

Hello,I am using the TouchGFX Designer to make screens on the display on the STM32H7B3I-EVAL board. I have run through the tutorials, so I feel pretty familiar with how to use TouchGFX. My next goal is to have data displayed on the screen that was gathered by another peripheral on the evaluation board (i.e. the CAN bus peripheral). I can add code to the main.c, but I am unsure how to link that data to the ScreenXView.cpp files. Can someone please explain how to do that?
