Hello,I am designing a custom board using the STM32H7B3LIH6Q, based on the STM32H7B3I-EVAL evaluation board. The crystal used on the evaluation board is 24 MHz, as seen from the schematic offered. Now, I am building my own board and noticed that the part number used for the oscillator is not available. However, there the datasheet says this one can be a range (4 - 50 MHz). See datasheet snippet below.  My question is two fold:When they say "guaranteed by design" in the second note, does that mean that, if I use a crystal between 4-50 MHz, I can achieve the full 280 MHz clock frequency used by this MCU?Does choosing a crystal with a different frequency cause changes in the the CubeMX clock configuration?

On ecosystem 4.1 and git version 2.39.1 there is an error when you do devtool modify tf-a-stm32mp and bitbake tf-a-stm32mp. The error is Command '['git', 'submodule--helper', 'list']' returned non-zero exit status 128. After a bit of searching there is a patch that needs to get applied in order for it to work since that git version no longer supports that command. Patch is located at https://git.yoctoproject.org/poky/commit/?id=0533edac277080e1bd130c14df0cbac61ba01a0c . Maybe that can get patched in?

Hello,I am using the stm32mp157c-ev1 board. I used this guide from digi-key to install debian on it (Debian: Getting Started with the STM32MP157), except in the parts where it says stm32mp157c-dk2 i replaced that with the appropriate '-ev1' suffix. I have also followed the same guide on discovery kit 2 board and it worked without issue. The problem is that when I try to boot from the board via the UART4 through minicom, while everything looks to be booting correctly (minus this error: *ERROR* failed to attach bridge /soc/dsi@5a000000 to encoder DPI-31: -517). Meaning that it shows me the login prompt, however i cannot enter anything. I tried connecting a keyboard to the board and it still does not seem to receive any input.Trying to connect via the st-link is even stranger as it shows me no output at all (even though CubeIDE is able to detect the ST-LINK S/N via the debugger). I have even done the ST-LINK upgrade from CubeIDE.OUTPUT:NOTICE: CPU: STM32MP157CAA Rev.B NOTICE: Model: STMicr

We are having a few issues with the size of the numbers we are receiving so want to check the units are m/s.

As far as I know, the LIS3MDL is an excellent 3-axis tmr sensor. What I want to know is whether the magnetic field components of the XYZ axes measured by the LIS3MDL sensor are strictly orthogonal, and do I need to do some calibration before using it? Thanks?

I am trying to perform the XTALK calibration for my system that includes a coverglass on top of the sensor. I am not exactly sure what the point of calibration should be. I've read in the forum: "When doing crosstalk calibration you need to find a target and a distance where the sensor reports a range that is 10-20% shorter than it should be."Document UM2356 shows:which shows the calibration point to be when the measured distance is the same (and lower) for an increasing target distance.Document UM2039 shows:where the point is a bit after the curve. In my case I get this which is pretty instant after a certain point: Should I use the max point (orange arrow) or the point before that (red)? The max point is 2353mm (actual) and I am measuring 2150mm (sensor) (8.5% deviation).Does the fact that the XTALK calibration distance is so big (2.3m) mean that my coverglass is of good quality?thanks

For example: 1000: is Combined PWM Mode, 1111: is Asymmetric PWM Mode 2. How do you fit 4 bits into 3 bit spaces? Bit 7 is used for OC1CE, and Bit 3 is used for OC1PE so there is no space on either end for the extra bit.

I configured SAI1 asBlockA: I2S async slave transmitterBockB: I2S sync slave receivermanaging the data transfers with GPDMA1. The slave transmitter works fine, I get the half transfer and transfer complete interrupts correctly. But for the slave receiver, I get only the half transfer interrupt and the next thing that happens is the SAI overrun interrupt. CBR1 is not reloaded, despite the configuration in the LLR. I never get the transfer complete interrupt. The configuration for both DMA channels and both SAI block is virtually the same, except where RX, TX and trigger selection make a difference. Any ideas on what I could be missing? On half transfer the SAI_RXCHANNEL->CSR = 0x40200On SAI 1 interrupt, SAI_Slave_RX->SR = 0x9and SAI_RXCHANNEL->CSR = 0x30000(the RX fifo of that DMA channel is full, but it claims to work as expected ???)Thanks

Hi,I'm stuck at a problem when using a custom bootloader. What works:All ISRs get triggered when not using the bootloaderAlmost (sic!) all ISRs get triggered when using bootloader together with my applicationWhat doesn't work:BMDA_Channel1_IRQHandler does not get triggered when using bootloader. What I already analyzed (using JLink/GDB disassembly on the target):BMDA_Channel1_IRQHandler lies at address 0x804feac, NVIC jump offset for this ISR is 0x248 according to datasheetSCB->VTOR is 0x8040200Address 0x8040448 contains 0x804fead (so everythings set up to jump to 0x804feac)Address 0x804feac never gets triggeredDefault_Handler lies at address 0x080745d4 (this is where my application gets stuck)When stuck, APSR is 0, EPSR is 0 except Thumb bit, IPSR is 0x92 (that's BDMA_CH1...), SCB->ICSR->VECTACTIVE is 0x92, SCB->CFSR is 0, SCB->HFSR is 0As far as I can see, the processor should jump to 0x804feac and execute my IRQHandler.Any idea what's going wrong?Thank you in advance!

Hello,I noticed that when I create new project in STM32CubeMX 6.7.0 (STM32F030F4Px) and set "Minimum Heap Size" to 0x0 and "Minimum Stack Size" to 0x0, the linker script is not generated (project with default settings, I only change "Toolchain / IDE" to STM32CubeIDE and enable "Generate peripheral initialization as a pair of '.c/.h' files per peripheral") and I can't compile the project, STM32CubeIDE generates error:Error: Cannot find the specified linker script. Check the linker settings in the build configuration. make: *** [makefile:87: fail-specified-linker-script-missing] Error 2 "make -j12 all" terminated with exit code 2. Build might be incomplete. In the same project when I set the Heap/Stack size to their default values (for STM32F030F4Px Heap has 0x200 size and Stack is 0x400) linker script also is not generated.Am I doing something wrong or is it STM32CubeMX bug?

I am trying to setup a ble server on a stm32 board that does not have a lse crystal. I have followed the normal steps and the steps that use the hse crystal instead (https://community.st.com/s/article/configuring-stm32wb-for-bluetooth-le-without-an-lse-crystal). I managed to get this setup to work on a WB55RG board but I am unable to get it to work on the custom board. The generated code gets to initializing the time server inside the generated HW_TS_Init function in the hy_timeserver.c file but it then errors saying “No source available for "<signal handler called>() at 0xfffffff9??. The error occurs in this part of the function./*** Initialize the timer server*/for(loop = 0; loop < CFG_HW_TS_MAX_NBR_CONCURRENT_TIMER; loop++){ aTimerContext[loop].TimerIDStatus = TimerID_Free;}If I stop pause it before the loop I can step through the loop and make it a few lines down before the error happens. When paused I am unable to step any further into the code because the debugger

Hi,Do you have cad for the ST25R3911_MB1325 reference design?

Greetings !I am very new to Controllers , I need to enable and ping the Ethernet on STM32F769 . Can anyone kindly suggest me with the steps/procedure to enable Ethernet in STM CubeIDE so that I can ping from my Local Machine. Thanks

Hello Everyone,First of all I have run the project with STM32H745I + USB_OTG_FS + FATFS + MSHC for the pendrive application and it runs without any error, I am able to create a file, directrory & write into the file. But when I add FreeRTOS in the same combination of existing project I can only mount the USB after that I stuck in HardFault handler. I don't know what the exact setting I have to do with FreeRTOS.If anyone have idea please help me out. Thanks!

Hello. I am trying to integrate ISO 26262 functional safety ASIL B requirements into our project which uses STM8AF52xxFor this purpose I need STM8A-SafeASIL - Automotive functional safety package for STM8AF and STM8AL Series MCUs in systems implementing safety functions up to ISO 26262 ASIL B - STMicroelectronics. However there is no link to download the same. Can anyone help me on the same?

On other processors sometimes there are keywords when defining variables to specify which memory area the variable should be stored in. Or there is a #pragma statement. I have not seen either in the STM32 or the IDE. I am guessing RAM2 might be a good place to put DMA transfers so the processor working in RAM does not interfere as much with the transfer. But I do not know how to access it in any case. According to the memory map SRAM1 starts at address 0x2000 0000 and SRAM2 starts at 0x2000 C000, (it drives me crazy when different documents use different names for the same thing) which makes me think they overlap? Unless the memory map is dealing in 32-bit dwords rather than 8-bit bytes. But then I would expect to see a gap between SRAM1 and SRAM2. I see SRAM2 can be write protected. But still nothing about how to access it. And SRAM2 can be retained in standby mode. In the STM32L443CC STM32L443RC and STM32443VC datasheet (DS11421 Rev 5On page 83/220 it says CODE memory goes from 0x000

I have tried a lot of different things but I can never seem to get it, I am trying to make a semblance of a precise delay function for my controller, I am not using HAL or anything, just writing to registers directly. I tried timers, timer interrupts, I always am just slightly off and I legitimately can't find a good solution. Any advice on microsecond delay functions? Thanks in advance

Hi!I recently tried to put my Nucleo G071RB board back in use.Sadly it refused to work.I´m using Cube IDE, Windows 10 (64).After some research I found out, that Cube IDE is using ST-Link Server software to connect to the board, of which I installed the recent version.I could not find the associated process in my task manager.Even starting it manually could not do the trick.Console pops up and disappear again, no task!So I suspect ST-Link Server software.Board is updated to the latest firmware, using Cube Programmer and I also re-installed Cube IDE.Any suggestion?

I'm considering using a STM32L4P in a medical device design. What is this part's expected longevity in the market. Will I still be able to buy it in 5 or 10 years?Do any ST processors have a guaranteed product lifetime?

When my STM32G0B1KET receives an Discover SVIDs message, it responds GOODCRC, then the core library function PE_StateMachine_VDM() calls the reset handler. After reset the system hardfaults. System responds to discover identity properly. The USBPD_VDM_DiscoverSVIDs callback is properly initialized and not reached. A little stuck on this working with just the disassembly. Any suggestions for a fix would be appreciated.

Been looking closely at RM figures 342 AND 343.....I cannot see the value of the ARPE bit....when 1 it looks like the shadow register updates on UEV / or Interrupt and when 0 what?? 342 disregards showing the shadow register and on top of this who cares that it loads early when ARPE = 0.....Can someone please explain the value of this bit?

Hello everyone,I have an application that eventually record some audios and is working fine with a pair of MP34DT01. It works over SAI with a clock of 1.024MHz and a decimation factor of 64 (for the PDM2PCM), leading to an audio frequency of 16kHz.The problem that I have now, is that I'm migrating the MEMS to MP34DT05-A. It seems to actually be working fine so far, but in its datasheets it states a minimum clock frequency of 1.280MHz. Therefore, ideally I should change the frequency of the SAI interface. I've done it and I've also changed the decimation factor to 80, as explained in AN5027 and UM2372. However, with these new configs, I obtained just noise (like a strong beep). I've checked the clock with the osciloscope and it is indeed 1.280MHz.Is there any other configuration (maybe related to the DMA?) that I'm missing here in order to be able to increase the SAI clock from 1.024MHz to 1.280MHz?Is it even necessary to do this frequency change? considering that although the datasheet

Im trying to get the Pollerexample with the ST25R911b-DISCO working i attached a Picture that shows where. It just stared the programm an had no connection to NFC devices befor. How can i get out of ERR=BUSY ?

I'm using a STM32G070 MCU which I flash via i2c when the boot0 pin is set to high. This works fine until I connect a ST-link to the MCU, program it and then disconnect the ST-link again. After that the i2c flash will fail, I have checked the boot0 and reset pin and these are set correctly, but when checking the i2c communication it seems like there is no reply from the boot loader address 0x51. When I power cycle the MCU the i2c flash works fine again. I have checked the boot select bit in the user option byte and it looks ok. Anyone know if this is expected behavior after the ST link has been used or if it might be something I have missed?
