VL6180 Eye Safety

Ok, I know that ST's standard answer is that the VCSEL in the VL6180 is eye safe, and I have not problem believing it.  But when getting my product certified eye safe, the testing house does not just take our word for it.  It there greater documentation about the laser power, or is there information that ST will provide that will satisfy the testing group?

Ok, but aren't they actually testing it, couldn't they tell you?

It's 'class 1 laser product' so they probably do not need to specify the emitted power when they comply with the standard.

I would look for documents like this (or laser class requirements):
