The MCU with STM8S208S6T6C part number has to have a unique ID, wheras the ones I'm using have the same UID which is 464B37323136413832353330 .Is this something that can be solved or all the modules I've recenlty purchased defectice and unusable?

As mentioned in the datasheet of the STM8S208, the Unique ID is definitely unique and cannot be changed afterwards. So if you have read the UID on address 0x48CD...0x43D8 correctly and the value is identical for all STM8S208, it is probably fakes.
