OS: openSUSE Linux
Trying to update from 1.4.0 to 1.4.2 by clicking Help->Check for updates
Result: "No updates found. Configure available software sites to reach more content."
STM32CubeIDE Releases is enabled and when I reloaded it, I saw that it does load 1.4.2
I don't use the IDE, I just need the SDK. Is there a place I can download it?

Could you explain further about the use case? You don't use the IDE but you need version 1.4.2? Is it the latest firmware that you are actually in need of?

What I mean is that I don't use the Eclipse based IDE. Make is sufficient for me.
Forget about SDK, what I actually need most is an update for the toolchain inside the following directory:
/opt/st/stm32cubeide_1.4.0/plugins/com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.externaltools.gnu-tools-for-stm32.7-2018-q2-update.linux64_1.4.0.202007081208
One reason for this is that we have code written using the tools delivered with 1.4.2 which fails to compile with 1.4.0.

The toolchain has not changed between 1.4.x versions. So, the cause should be something else. Which build errors you receive?
